Hon... it chewed through the MASSIVE chunks at 301 and 300 yesterday with ease... and they were chunks as big if not bigger than the ones at 296/5.

Change the record will ya, you're out of step with reality now.

Yea, but now people buying would be buying at even a lower rate, thus lowering demand for it. That and the fact that those "MASSIVE" chunks were bought up at 300 adding even more L$ to the money supply in game also adds less demand. We are also almost at the end of the holiday weekend (for many) further bringing down demand and on Tuesday the stipends come out lowering demand even more. This is just a rebalancing from the MASSIVE loss we had a week or so ago combined with the new cuts in adds. This won’t keep up much longer. Soon (If not now) the price will meet its new equilibrium and then start to lose value again, but at a slower rate than before, after a small jump of loss at the beginning. SELL SELL, after Tuesday you can still sell, but you won't get the best rate, which is NOW! SELL!

Shame the money was still in world... You're making a lot of very elementary mistakes here...

This is hilarious, Alt central. Anyway, I doubt whether we'll have quite the usual early week downturn, since it's a long holiday weekend for much of the US (or like me weekend, slow workday, then holiday). There are a LOT of parties and big events going on and lots of folks with a bit of extra time to kill, so I think this week will at worst be a leveler and may even rally the market back to some more sane levels as the pure real demand blows out some of those strategic blocks.

  1. Buying or selling lindens on the currency market does not add or remove lindens from the money supply.
  2. For those who are on a Holiday weekend in the states, we are right in the middle of it. There could well be another strong buying day today, tomorrow or both days.
  3. The "Tuesday effect" has never been proven that I've ever seen. Please show me the data where the value of the Linden changes on Tuesday consistently one way or another. If the Linden does lose value on Tuesday, you would also have to show that the loss of value is greater than the average weekday. Also, if this Tuesday effect does exist, it is very small on average, probably far less than half a percent.
  4. What massive loss are you talking about? The one at the end of May? That was six weeks ago. The Linden has been slowly and gradually strenghthening for over a month. If you have been closely following the market, you would know that.
  5. Historically the best rates to sell usually come on Saturdays. I think it might be prudent for people who can wait, to wait until at least Saturday to see what happens.

I'd say some of what Pan is saying is correct, although it is all a guess at this point. We have no idea how many new players will join the world and thus demand L$ and thus drive up or down demand. Population is the variable in the SL world which is difficult to predict, unlike the real world, where population growth is constant and easily predicted...

When you sell L$ on the LindenX the money is taken by LL out of your account right away. It sits in their account and cannot be used by you. It goes back into circulation after someone buys it and it is added to his or her account. Thus all the open sell orders are now entering the world driving down demand.

The rest of what I said is correct, as you stated. No need to believe me, but if you have L$ to sell and you want to get the best deal, I'd SELL SELL!

When you sell Linden on the LindenX the money is taken from your account right away, even if it doesn’t sell for months. Many of these sell orders have been sitting there for a LONG time. When someone buys the Linden on the market it is then added to his or her account and is back in circulation thus driving down demand. When the L$ are on the LindenX, noone can access the money without canceling the order. So, once all the Linden are bought up, you have more in game, like in world being used, not just existing on the LindenX for months.

I am selling... at 240/1 and if you want to get the best deal you'll join us.

L$240 / US$1.00 12 L$3,702,750
L$239 / US$1.00 2 L$500,000

We are approaching a tipping point where there is more L250 and below than above 250.

and all the new people joining is driving up demand... why do you keep making the mistake of only using some of the details to come to a conclusion?

Sorry, but I did not state that the rest of what you said was true... if you're going to claim something, do make sure the evidence doesn't A: contradict you and B: sit there on the same damn page!

Oh, and since the amount up for sale is miniscule compared to the amount floating about all the time in SL, I don't think it'll have anything like the dramatic influence you think it will.

There's what... 10M up for sale? That's less than 1.5% of the grand total, and I'd be very surprised if it was even that much...

Try using all the details before coming to a conclusion... you'll find it stops you making some very silly and obvious mistakes.

Have fun letting your L$ sit at a price, which will NEVER be sold while you miss the selling opportunity of a SL lifetime! SELL NOW or miss out. Then again you can always cancel that sell order and place it back at 300 and something after you miss this great selling opportunity at the 290's.

The vast majority of the money sold on the Lindex is sold within 24 to 48 hours of it being posted.

Yep! Everyone is sitting there watching the LindenX waiting for it to bottom out so they can dump millions and millions on the exchange. By then it will be too late to get the best deal. SELL NOW!

The rest of your post I will ignore, as most of it is simple name calling fallacies and flaming, which only little children partake in. I'm too busy making $$$LLL!

Ahem... that would be Argument Ad Hominem, which is what you just did with the "little children" crack...

Not that there was any of those, nor any flaming, in my post... claiming that there is, when there isn't, is classic Red Herring fallacy. (typical "I can counter your points, so I'm going to try to distract people from them" tactic)

I didn't hit it right on the head, but the value gaining is over. Noone is perfect, but NOW is the time to SELL! If I'm wrong I'll eat my virtual hat. SELL! Not much longer before the dumping of Lindens on the market begins!
