Um, sweeping generalization, come in please? I hate their group land tools becuse they are pernicious and need fixing. I have very specific critiques about their bounce script policies or their event posting policy. I criticize ver specific things. I don't "hate" Linden Labs. Indeed, I give them a lot of money and that shows my respect for what they do.



I hate the attitudes and behavior of a small group of people. I'm glad you've been able to admit it's a small group, a select group and it is not "all old players" or "all creative people" or "all content barons" (not my term) like some of these other hysterics claims. I don't resent their deal, I resent their refusal to admit they have a deal. Learn the difference. I never hear them admit frankly, yeah, we got that deal, and here's what we've done with it, and here's how we give back to the community. I'm only aware of a single person with one of these sweetheart deals who has done anything for anything larger than himself.

Hmmm, let's see... I pay $195 a month that I don't really need to pay because I believe in SL and want to support it. I run a new designers store where I give free display space to give exposure to up and coming designers. I've spent a few hundred hours creating custom clothing templates that are much easier to use than the LL supplied templates that I give away on the forums so that new people don't have to reinvent the wheel. I devote a lot of time to answering people's questions on the forums as do a very large number of your so-called elitists. I'm just one tiny example. There are hundreds of others. What exactly do you do for anything larger than yourself except daily poison the forums with your vowel movements?

As for any urban legend that player based zoning is illegal, huh? Agreed! There are tons of things I disagree with Ulrika about, but I am always amazed at her ability to stay calm and not resort to ad hominems, no matter what gets thrown at her. And even when I disagree with her I always love her incredible logic skills and how amazingly articulate she is. And she's got a great sense of humor!

If I get the sense that anyone's actually starting to buy in to Prokofy's bullshit I'll take up the mantle again. Reading Prok's posts reminds me of the scene from A Christmas Story when the kid finally gets his Little Orphan Annie decoder ring in the mail and painstakingly decodes the secret message from the radio. After intense concentration and effort he looks up with an utterly cheated look on his face and says "Drink Ovaltine?!" lol. Too much effort for no payoff.

I think the denseness of his prose pretty well prevents that threat from looming.

Although, if by solving the problem you mean handling the monster, there is only one way to do that -- by ignoring it. I admit that I am a recipient of the forbidden knowledge and I can say that there is nothing funny about it. This individual has caused nothing but misery to not just those in MMOGs but to [personal information deleted]. There is something really (I mean in actuallity) wrong with this lonely, angry, flawed person and I am convinced that these threads don't exist to argue a point but exist to feed a need for inflicting (and experiencing) strife, anger, and suffering.

There's having fun in a game and then there's being gamed for fun. Choose the former and avoid the latter.

I have nothing wrong with me. I am not lonely, angry, or flawed. I make a critique on an entrenched group of people in a game who I believe harm the game with their behaviour and hinder the game from developing. Their response to that blow is to try to impugn my sanity or character. That's sick.

There is no "infliction of strife, angery, and suffering" except the puncturing of some very, very big ego balloons.
