Ulrika's opinions are simply that. They carry no more or less weight than others of us in the project.

Here is something I posted in another thread recently Cubey. I feel it gives my answers to to your statements clearly. Let it be known that since this post, I have helped bring to the attention of the group that due to perceptions, we have to seriously consider what members say on the forums. Sad but true.

Here is what I stated:

At the same time, there is nothing stopping me from getting out there and posting my opinions on whatever issue. Just because I tend to be more, I don't know, I guess I don't ruffle feathers. But people don't go "oh wow! there must be some good in Neaultenburg because here is a person I really admire that is making posts about something else. I wonder if she carries that same attitude in the project. I bet she does! Let me go check it out!" You see? hehe.. I guess I mean that people are so hung up on their opinions about one person, they forget all the other people that just happen to be involved in the project and are out here talking about issues as much as any others.

Should I stop making posts? I have as much right to promote the Neualtenburg project as Ulrika does. Heck, I even have it in my sig line. I am as much a spokes person as anyone in the project. Why then can my words not cancel out another's words? Or vice versa? I'm sure there are those that love Ulrika and can't stand me. Why should I have to hush and she gets to talk?

I dunno. It just seems to me when you try to walk the line of telling someone what they can and cannot post on a public forum (outside TOS violations), you just end up confusing people.

I'd wager to say that the *majority* of those in the Neualtenburg project DO NOT want one player run government throughout the whole of SL. We state this in many threads dealing with a variety of issues. Why are you giving so much power to Ulrika? I'm not chopped liver you know!

Hmm, you know, maybe I can profit off of this. Sell torches and pitchforks to the masses.

When I post on the forums does it reflect on VERTU every time?

You have to seperate people from the groups and affiliations they have in Second Life or anywhere else for that matter and let them have individual opinions. How is Nberg different? Really, I must be missing something.

When I post, it definitely reflects on the Pumpkin Sluts and Mile High Club. We have a lot of infighting in Midnight Land Trust though, so it is hard to come to a consensus for me to make a blanket statement on the group's behalf That Laquita Maracas is impossible!

I posted what I did because I was under the impression that the Neualtenberg Projekt was Ulrika's and that she was the official spokesperson, or that she has a larger say in the group than others who are mostly silent on the subject. My opinions and objections to Ulrika's views still stand, regardless of how much power Ulrika has within your group. In general, if you're experimenting with creating government, and one or more powerful members of the group desire power or advocate repression, harassment, and violence, that's a serious problem.

Desipite the opinion of some members of your group that NP will not spread beyond the group, saying it doesn't make it so. Some other members may wish it to spread because they stand to gain power over other players. One should be very careful when playing with power, and dismissing criticisms out of hand isn't constructive. It's a little like playing with bioweapons and assuring everyone that it won't escape the lab. Your isolation isn't complete, and ideas are infectious.

Last year, around Halloween, Myradyl Muse, Gracie Greenacre, Tony Tigereye, and various others ran around wearing giant pumpkin suits with nothing underneath, while using one of those followbelt things to act like a train of pumpkins. We ultimately formed a group and dubbed ourselves the Pumpkin Sluts. I have pictures somewhere lol

The criticisms have not been dismissed out of hand - they have been responded to over and over again, yet the group remains under seige by those who don't want ANY government of any kind in SL, even apparently as a private project. The amount of scrutiny and vitriol that has been levelled at this group has hardly been constructive. No group can make progress if ever move they make is subject to unrelenting criticism and scrutiny, most often by those not even involved in it.

If I dismissed critisisms out of hand, I wouldn't have been spending the last week trying to answer concerns. Day in, and day out. Though if people would take the time to read our documents, threads, and posts, as they are in progress. Many questions would be answered.

Cubey. Yes, we want this project to expand. In the sense that we would like to grow. We would also be thrilled to see other types of governments in SL evolve. Even Ulrika herself does NOT want One MASS government for the whole of SL. I cannot help you with your misperceptions, other than to explain where you are mistaken.

We are a *very* diverse group of people. I assure you that we are all intellegent and know quite well what happens if too much power falls into one persons hand. To assume we do not know so is to either insult us or honestly have no clue as to what goes on within the project.

I do feel like these days we continue to answer the same concerns over and over. And I am sorry if I sound flippant these days. My goal is to remain calm in the face of many harsh words, but to also weed out the good points that people bring up. I just about got accused of being Hitler in a PM.. ME! haha.. It is hard to take that easy. So Cubey, you know I respect you. Take my post to not be as harsh as it may sound.

I'm no advocate of Ulrika's I assure you. But I recognise that she has a right to an opinion of her own regarding anything she wants. Like advocacy of an SL wide government (edit: uh... apparently she doesnt want this. Just read Pens reply. )

But that is seperate from the project and not spoken as a spokesperson for the project.

I will agree with you that a number of the points you made in your original post regarding some of her views bother me too. But her participation in the project versus those are something for the members to reconcile between themselves.

When Ulrika runs for president with Philip Linden as her running mate, then we can all afford to be concerned. But for now, they're just trying to do something a little different between themselves. Why dont we let them and see how it turns out?

But with the method of how Ulrika posted in the past it was the "Perception" and it was on a very very hot topic which you have even admited being against and thats world wide player run government.

Now Pendari and even Kendra have stated that neither are spokespersons for NBerg. Hence the difference now if Ulrika Posts in context to NBerg on the forums Im going to ignore it. However if she posts on the forum about a world wide player run government Im gonna be here with a mini gatling gun of retort to quell it quickly. Or anyone that wants to institute a Player Run Governement for that matter.

Im not a voice for the Public but I am a voice for myself and I will fight that aspect of discussion tooth and nail when it comes to Player Run governments.

Make no mistake I am against a player run government.

However I am for group and personal rights within the confines of their own paid for spaces.

The issue was NBerg was getting bad PR based on Ulrika's sweeping opinion and thought that her future goals were to expand the Gov't Nberg is creating to all of SL.

My agreement with Cat was based on if one person presumes to be the voice of an organization they should act in a manor that is conducive to the the organizations goals.

Singular personal attacks by members of the organization when the topic is based in an open forum on the organizations activities does not help the goal of said organization move forward instead it creates discention amongst its ranks.

Also notice Kris, the individual that started this little debacle is sitting there LTAO. Why because they wanted to stir stuff up and they did again. I posted earlier what I think needs to happen now and with that being said I hope a few take heed and let it go and leave NBerg alone.

The Psudo Crisis of quelling the accention of a player run government to the SL throne is over for now.
