I was reading the archives for no reason because I was board and found some intresting threads. I want to say just leave There members alone. While I was in There I only had good times and only saw good things. There members are some of the most creative and talented people I have ever seen. I still read up on There news and email my old Therian friends daily. They are on the verge of coming very close to Second Life's level. Did any of you know about ThereScript? Or maybe the AI platform that drives their animal life? I bet not. I hear all the time of people signing up for There just to recruit people. That is just sad, are we that low? The vision of There is truely one of a kind. There was developed by some of the greatest minds in the gaming world. I'm proud to say I was once a member of There. I also feel disapointed that I left There. Why do you do it? What is so wrong with the thought of them being in peace and letting them develope their own world? I don't get and never will. You all were mistaken about Black Friday. I'd Second Life has something coming if people continue to do what they do. In case my opinions and statements don't sway your mind maybe the following sites will. Just leave them alone, look at the hard work that went into There. Don't ruin something so amazing because you believe something else is better. I always will remember what I had in There. People in There continue to push its limits and show us anything is possible. Look at ThereOrleans, and tell me how that is possible. It wasn't but one person made it possible. In case you didn't know, There has a new Community Manager. I believe he will lead There to a future of possibilities. There was the biggest steping stone in Virtual Worlds and Second Life has yet to surpass it. The following sites are those of developers of There. They worked with There for many months and helped build one of the biggest Virtual Worlds to date. Don't put their hard work to waste, stop the recruiting nonsence. http://www.brianwyser.com/Home.htmhttp://www.maitlendesign.com/http://www.mattybomb.com/portfolio_there_images.htmhttp://www.zagnut.com/portfolio/newsite/portfolio.htmlLook at the above links, look at the hard work. By recruiting people in There you are basicly saying none of that was important. That all of the work they did over the cource of many years was just a waste. I've met many people in Second Life who believe as I do. There is the next generation Virtual World, no doubt about that. But it is not right to go in There and just recruit people because you want Linden Dollors. There has the right to survive and thrive just as much as Second Life does. You are killing There and killing all the hard work. We're not just talking about a game here, we are talking about shuting down peoples money supply. People work for There and they feed their children and families though There. People who play There use There a base of income. Its sad people do this, it is very sad that Second Life members feel the need to destroy something great. Just don't do it, don't put my words and their work to waste. If you don't like There then thats fine but don't destroy something such as There. Don't destroy years of hard work and billions of dollors.

I love the smell of irony in the morning.

What should such fellows as I do crawling between earth and heaven? We are arrant knaves, all; believe none of us.

What topic? The one you dragged up from the archives from months ago and posted an accusative rant about as if it was current? Yah. And what about those Nazis, too? Bastards.

There and SL will get along just fine, they're different places, appeal to different folks. And I've seen recruiting go both ways, both places. If one needs/wants to try or stay in one place or another, they will. All the rest is just noise. If the recruiters bother you, put them on "ignore" (mute to SL'ers) and go on about your business. What do you think those banner ads SL places all over the internet are there to do? Denegrate Thereians? pfft.
It will be ok Zack really.

By the way, I'd like to take this opportunity to make a true confession. I feel I need to unburden myself of this awful secret after Zacks words rang so true with me. I once told a guy in Guild Wars that Second Life was pretty cool and that he should try it. AND HE DID! I'm sorry, all.

People try and sell Second Life in There after you all know they have no intrest in Second Life. And when you get a newbie to try Second Life out once in a while you are destroying There. You are taking money away from them. You are forcing them to die and decay...

From: Zack Cline You are forcing them to die and decay... Don't be such a drama queen. People have minds, ya know. They'll try There, they'll try SL and they'll MAKE UP THEIR MIND which appeals. Or even play both! So what? you'd prefer people live in ignorance of the alternatives and never even know there is something out there that might suit them better? I'm a Paintshop Pro user. Should I NEVER talk to Photoshop users about it in case they defect? I'd be killing Adobe!

OK how would you feel if Linden Labs lost over 60 million dollors in funding. What if they could not afford to fix anything or update anything? Then people from There came over and said "Hey, Second Life is crap come over to There!"...

While we're making confessions...Nala Galatea told me how cool SL was in a non-judgemental way, I listened and ignored it! For months! I was happy.
Then Nala went MIA. I joined SL to look for my buddy. Different name here than THERE. Couldn't find Nala. I went to night every time I got into SL. Hated my avie. Kept lagging into building walls that wouldnt' rezz (I know now). Hated it. Hated it.
Months went by.
There did dumb things that scared many folks. The economy changed. Event support went away. I went looking for a possible alternative, incase There kacked.
I looked at Moove, AW, and WTF else I dont' remember (it was a bunch of us, we split up in teams, real methodical). Came back to SL. Grudgingly. Found out how to turn the FRICKIN' sun on. Got some help w/clothes and avies. Started to dig it.
Found Nala (well made Nala find me).
Was really happy here in SL.
Until today.
My guilt is overburdening me.
/stands up, shuffling nervously.
"I, Madame Maracas, was once Asandra in There. I love it here. But I miss spades, buggies and voice chat. Esp. Buggy bombing Duda Beach. But I didn't say that."
/sits down, sobbing uncontrollably with relief
/skulks out of the room to go build a house that de rezzes when folks teleport away while seated
(if you remember, you know why that's really REALLY funny)
