From: someone Our own military shot down the plane, I think that's common knowledge, and they hid the fact of blowing up the Pentagon with a car bomb. Whoopy farkin DO. Nope, it was Lee Harvey Oswald on the Grassy Knoll with a Candlestick. And some of that Roswell alien Area 51 technology was used also. Plan A: - Suicide Bomb the WTC
- Since that won't be enough to make the citizenry afraid, let's also hit the beloved Pentagon which will really galvanize the people
- Profit! (through Haliburton)
Plan B: - Allow a couple dozen nuts to make a dramatic act through gross Executive incompetence
- Use the act to whip the fear into the populace and start a war
- Enjoy the misdirection away from me to "them"
- Profit! (through Haliburton)
The only open question in my mind is if it really matters what hit the Pentagon? I vote for the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

From: Selador Cellardoor But *one of the terrorists' passports*? Being torn out of the terrorist's clothing as his body exploded, and emerging from that fireball? It's one thing finding a bit of random debris and quite another to find an identifying document pointing to one of the perpetrators.
I agree with you about conspiracies, btw - but I remain unconvinced by the claimed origin of the attack. It seems to me that the attack was used by the administration to further their political ends. To me, this is analogous to saying you beleive that people can find shipwrecks that are of no interest to you, but the Titantic? Although you are posing a question, you provide no new information that confirms or removes confirmation from any idea, that I can see. Would you feel more at ease if among the countless pieces of debris found, none were found that were linked in any way to the hijackers? This would seem to leave you arguing the position that anything found or not found would mean it was a government conspiracy.

Considering the passport would have been aboard an exploding jet --and the random notebook found in Brooklyn would have been from a falling building? Hardly comparable. In any event the conspiracy theory I have the most trouble believing --because it's so farfetched-- is the conspiracy theory advanced by the US Government.

This would seem to leave you arguing the position that anything found or not found would mean it was a government conspiracy. Exactly. A passport from one of the hijackers *is* just a random piece of debris that survived. The fact that it's a rather important one is incidental. And my example of the notepad was to illustrate the immense odds against surviving that the paper managed to beat. For those who don't know NYC geography, let me spell it out. This notepad, likely sitting on somebody's desk or something, manages to fly out of the 80-somethingth floor of a building that's been set ablaze by jet fuel, and floats it's way a few miles eastward across a river to land in Brooklyn. The odds are STAGGERING, but when you have an event like 9/11, that kind of thing happened over and over again ALL DAY. -S

You are always posting some obscure fringe liberal conspiracy website to support your position. Do you have any news sources that are not anti-US Government? Briana Dawson

Normally I don't give in to conspiracy theories. For instance I don't believe for a moment the US gov had anything to do with 9/11 or the WTC attack. There are no alien spacecraft at area 51, and in all likelihood Oswald acted alone.
The pentagon thing though ...?
The ONE single thing that always gets me is the wings. The planes wings. I can easily take everything else about the crash. The almost surgical precision of the hole, lack of wreckage, unbroken windows next to the hole, etc etc etc.
But I always go back to the wings. Did they fold up and get sucked into the hole after the nose of the plane hit? Wouldn't the engines on the wings have made holes too? Wouldn't the fuel in the wings and engines have made a fiery mess all over the walls on either side of that scissor-cut of a hole?
I'm sorry, but the wings would have sheared off and been blown all over the place. Of this I can't be convinced otherwise.
Here's what I think happened:
The 2 planes hit the WTC and the shit hit the fan and EVERYONE panicked!!! OMFGPANCAKES##@@!!! Quick, what do we do? Who makes the decisions? There's one more hijacked plane?? FUCK@@ Where's the President? At a school reading kid stories??? SHIT!! Somebody make the call!! Shoot it down SHOOT IT DOWN!!!
............................
Oh crap, that idiot shot down a passenger plane!! FUCK!!! Who told him to do that? \PANICK When the press gets hold of this ...... quick, what do we do???? It was heading for the pentagon? okokok ummm, ummm WAIT!! one section is being rebuilt, there will be fewer people there, pop a missle at it and we'll say the plane crashed into it!!! Hurry up, we got maybe 5 minutes to pull this off!!!
................................
Oh crap! He did what? Shot a missile at the pentagon to cover up us blowing the plane down? Uhhh ummm, OK, damage control, spin doctors, yeah, we can spin this ... Quick, go get the film from every security camera around the pentagon!! Hurry up, we got maybe 5 minutes to keep a lid on this .....
................................
That's what I think, your mileage may vary

From: Briana Dawson Conspiracy theorist never cease to amaze me. Why would the government lie about what attacked the Pentagon? Briana Dawson One would think the BILLIONS of dollars various American feudal lords made off of the resulting war would have been reason enough to kill a few inconsequential worker pawns.

That belief, contradicted as it is by abundant physical evidence - or lack of it - is more outrageous than the conspiracy theories.

From: Kendra Bancroft saying that NORAD is in Colorado didn't answer my question either. if I remember correctly they were landing all planes at that point. and the Pentagon is at the end of a runway. they may have thought it was landing. i don't know specifics, just "guesstimating"

From: Briana Dawson Conspiracy theorist never cease to amaze me. Why would the government lie about what attacked the Pentagon? Briana Dawson I feel I can answer this one. I'm no proponent of the government, but their behavior on this is easily explainable by one of two theories. The first is that the strike was intentional and a government maneuver, an assassination or destruction of some sort of evidence that would set the government at odds. Since we apparently DID know 9/11 was coming, this is perfectly feasible. Put on your tinfoil hats now. The more likely answer is that it's one thing to use a conventional aircraft as a cudgel, another entirely to fire a military weapon (such as the rocket accused here) on American soil. Now, such an act would galvanize the public via their fear as proponents of war, but at the time it would have only caused panic to say an antitank missile had struck the Pentagon. So, better to accuse another aircraft that noone saw. Actually, a third theory is that this same damage could be caused by a crashing Predator drone, an angle on the first theory.
