Despite attempts by sympathetic parties to confuse the issue, this is not about civil rights, nor is anyone calling for the deportation of legal immigrants. However, we have the right to control who can and cannot come into this country.

I'm glad that these rallies have been staged-they're a big wake up call to an even bigger problem.

My proposal:

1. Secure the border with Mexico.
-Send the National Guard to the border temporarily
-Build a permanent wall from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico
-Add more Border Patrol agents sooner rather than later

2. Heavy fines for businesses hiring illegals

3. Streamline the process for *legal* immigration.
-This process needs to be faster, simpler.

4. Actively seek out, round up, and deport all illegal aliens.
-Send them to the back of the line.
-Think of the boost to the lagging US airlne industry.

5.Work to stabilize Mexico.

6. No amnesty in any guise.
-It didn't work for Reagan; it won't work for Bush.

7. Implement a guest worker program.
-Only after the above conditions have been met.

Yes, most of the illegal immigrant population are hardworking, decent people who just want a better life for themselves and their families-but that does *not* give them the right to circumvent our laws.

The best way to illegally immigrate is to hide in a hidden compartment, in a cargo container.

Solution: send back everyone who was not on the North or South American Continent prior to 1492, unless they can prove decendence from an Indigenous group that was on the continent prior to 1492. Think of the boon to the environment! ;)

On one side, my ancestors were Vikings who found the "New World" well before 1492. Does that mean I get to stay?

On the other side, my ancestors may have been slaves who didn't even get to come here of their own free will and now you just want to "return to sender"!? Another forced immigration?!

And even the Native Americans immigrated from somewhere. Stop fighting the past and deal with the present.

Simple solution, cut your torso in half and keep one piece here and send the other back.

Nobody was standing on the border forcing your ancestors back with guns, walls or return to sender signs either, and it's only been proven that the Dine'h and northwest Native people "immigrated" here--every other tribe has in its creation story their origin on this continent.

Again, you want to skip the topic by fighting the past. Following this string of thought you could then conclude that the only legitimate government is a Native American one. Does this mean you're going to stop paying your taxes to the one in Washington?

We're not going to kick out non-Native Americans. We're not going to hand over the US to the Native Americans.

Now...have you any realistic solutions to propose?

Not completely true. The truly first man (I'm talking homo sapiens) arose in the region of today's Kenya-Ethiopia. From that region they migrated to South Asia, Europe, and across the Siberian land bridge to North America.

There was no spontaneous creation of human beings anywhere else, although there is evidence of Neanderthal tribes living in Europe 230,000-29,000 y.a. (likely a sub-branch on the same evolutionary tree). There is no mitochondrial DNA evidence of co-mingling with humans, but Neanderthals went extinct most likely as a result of unsuccessful competition for resources with early (Cro-Magnon) man.

But if the President's plane ever crashed in Mexico, we'd have to find a washed up ex Special Forces soldier with an eyepatch to get him back OVER the wall.

Prosecute and heavily fine anyone who employs an illegal, problem solved.

Oh, and provide liberal work visas to make it legal for actual workers, tax them like everyone else that is legal, have them check in with their immigration officer every month to assure their wearabouts to maintain their legal, alien worker status, give a 1-way bus ride to anyone who is not willing to be acounted for, no exceptions.

I'm all for that once we've secured the border. Seriously, what do you think about tagging them with GPS trackers like they do for people on house arrest? It would make it easier to find anyone who was overstaying.

Oh, I totally agree with your idea to secure the Mexican border.

GPS Tags, naaa, I am not for that... they are people who should be treated with dignity, not cattle. I would be satisfied if they checked in monthly to an immigration officer confirming where they live and work.

OK, ok...soooo..once something becomes too expensive, we should just legalize it? And are you figuring in the money regained from not having to pay for civil and emergency services for illegal immigrants?

Tell your inner fiscal conservative to just open her factory in Mexico. Same workers, but then they stay legal. :p

Invade Mexico, declare it a US territory, install sewage treatment plants and wipe out their gangs, and then leave.

who will do the work?

Kiamat, who are you going to get to do all the work that the illegals do?

Are you going to work in a field picking peppers in 100 degree heat for 12 hours a day for $5 an hour?

I'm sure as hell not going too.

It not just a simple matter of “send them back”. You have to consider all the repercussions of sending them all back.
