I just was booted from SL and received the message that Central Hardware was failing! (with exclamation point). Does this really mean anything or is the sky falling?

Worst Error Message Ever!!

I was in mid-teleport when I was rudely bumped off the grid. Still waiting for something on the blog....

Welllllllll this morning there was "emergency downtime," "We need to schedule an emergency downtime tomorrow [15:00-16:00 GMT ] in order to work on the asset servers"

and now this.....

The message read (exact quote):

"You have been logged out of second life, central storage hardware failing, check blog.secondlife.com for updates. sorry!"

And there is nothing in the blog unless they are writing it ATM.

I think before they blog they have to come up with a better way to say our grid just flushed itself in the toliet and we are watching it flush scrambling to come up with a new solution.

Hmm... *thinks*

"We are pleased to announce that we have fixed the load on our asset servers! Incidently this has caused the entire world to revert to empty sims and cleared out everyone's inventory. We're sorry for the inconvenience. Enjoy a lag-free SL!"

*crosses paws* Hopefully nothing quite as bad as that :).

From the front page:

"Online Now: 12,128"

From the SL Client:

"Logins are currently restricted to employees only."

Now thats a hiring blitz.

But you know sometimes when things are borked beyond control they tell the masses without thier owner's permission....like a child that has been in trouble and runs around whining to everyone....it's tired of being borked so it's ratting itself out LMFAO *shrugs* I really don't think they enjoyed us all seeing that though just my opinion but I imagine that was a whooopppsssieee

*Laughs!!*

I have always had the conspiracy theory that items that mysteriously vanish off your land or out of your inventory are the Lindens way of keep SL lag down! I think the little Linden bears go out and delete random stuff.

She posted that 3 minutes ago, did it really take that long to put it on the blog?

@#online - probably either the servers are all coming down (10,000 something now) and log-offs are still in progress or - I did also get an option to "continue for IM" so it might be counting that...
