Hey thanks Chip for making that for everyone!
is there anyway to get these in a Zip file? for some reason downloading a 12M PSD file is taking forever to download and I am on Cable  the only one that downloaded was the skirt template the rest looks like it is downloading but the saving bar isnt going up at all.  _____________________

They were originally distributed as zips to make for smaller downloads. I'm not sure why they're not still being distributed that way. When the SLstream server is back online you can download them from there as zips

the 29m zip file is actually working or looks like it lol thanks, but also the indivdual files should be compressed too for those who say accidently saved over the face template losing parts of it or something, that way it is compressed for fast DL and also they dont have to wait for the 29M if they only need 1 file.

I just found these templates a few days ago and OMG thank you thank you thank you thank.
This thread reads like a praise festival for Chip---and it's well deserved!!!! The first item I did with the new template, the collar seams lined up PERFECTLY THE FIRST TIME!!!! woohoo!!!! And now, seeing the shading, it's a lot more apparent to me why some areas are just tough to deal with! (like the sides of the chest!) Thanks Chip for an awesome tool!! |

These Templates have helped me so much, I thought that createing clotheing and skin textures was way past my grasp when I couldn't make seams fit,

How you do that depends entirely on what paint program you're using. Search the design and textures forum for "alpha" along with the name of the program you're using and you should turn up some answers. How to make an alpha channel is the most frequently asked question in this forum _____________________

I am very new to designing clothes, and photoshop. How do I get rid of the grid, after making the design I want on the clothes? Whenever I goto upload the image, my pants or shirt still have the grid on there. Any help is appreciated =)

On the layers palette, turn off the eye icon for each unwanted layer. _____________________

one question - do I leave it at 1024x1024 or resample to 512x512? ... i skimmed the thread to see if this was addressed, so I apologize if i missed it |

You should resize your clothing and skin textures to 512x512 before you upload them. The templates are oversized just to make them easier to read and work with

I was inspired by your skins to do one of my own. I only needed a head texture, so i tried making one of my own. Took me HOURS just to line the eyes up, and even then didn't seat them as well as i would have liked. The detail and precision of these temples may help me with that!
