you know i just found about 6 or so on the city of tomorrow..... its alot of copy cat people doing this now.

whatever your dad told you about this.. he seemed to skip the part that IT IS ILLEGAL. (and within SL context your 'flyers' are as well considered griefing)

sorry mate, but the fact that you already spent the money has nothing to do with making ammends for your illegal actions.. I think that ethically, here it is considered acceptable that you *could* donate the earnings INSTEAD of trying to give it back to everyone involved. Based on your response I would certainly rather you spend all that time to give it back, it seems you need the punishment. Your response, at least to me, seems to be indicative of no chance for your reformation as you don't seem to understand, even with all the people that have already contacted you, the seriousness of what you have done.

Unbelieveable this person is try to get out of this issue. seems like people are taking action on this objects and the ones stil on the land of some wil not be for long.

been do this for over 15 hours now nerd dpread the word and scanner to owners.I must have gone over the location more then 3 times in the last 15 hours. finding over atleast 100 or more. have a scanner nerd? need one?

UCK people are pulling boxes around this objects which is getting their attention more!

It's a viral object. Sure he created it, but it's out in the wild now, sure we can shun him, but he can't do anything about it. This isn't like the bush sign situation where the owner was all the same person. This is an outbreak. Sure he is the starting point of the outbreak, but it's not like he can stop it.

"Lewis" is *who* I am, "Nerd" is *what* I am.

Anyway... yes I have the scanner on all parcels of land that I own or have an involvement with, so I will be alerted if anyone tries it on with anything I own.

It's kind of sad that LL won't get involved even though this is clearly and obviously against the ToS, rather than the Bush sign thing which although annoying wasn't technically against the rules.

Well this person is not going to get away with it. There been too much problems occuring with this object and if he thinks LLabs is going to let him get away with it he better not count on it. Been spening 99% of my time on sl to deal with these objects this past day. It seem like we are making a impact ti stop this problem.

I have had a problem at supportforhealing with these money maker items and Bafilius has been courteous, helpful and has instructed his group to not place them here any more. I really can't ask for more than that.

The guy made a mistake and I accept his apology as it seems truly sincere and I've made plenty of mistakes in my own life.

He sent a letter to the lindens asking them to get rid of the objects. Once the first object was sold he was no longer in control of the situation. It's viral. The only way to get rid of it would be for the lindens to go onto the asset server and nuke the items, however since the people actually paid for them I highly doubt the lindens will do so.

bafilius already asked LL to try to stop his creation. It's going to end up being a black spot on him for his whole SL, but just due to the nature of the object, he cannot do anything about it. Complaining about him isn't going to make any difference. It's out on the grid as a viral infection, it will keep going untill it burns out. (I removed one from my land earlier too)

I informed Luna a short while bac about those objects.and gave her a scanner.. Yes we all made mistakes in our lives. lets hope this issue is closed in a short time. Otherize as it stands now we are over run in these objects and within the poast 16 hours 100`s in not close to a 1000 of them have been deleted or retured. Newbies ar ethe ones being taken advantage of and lets hope the maker of this object take is share or the blame as well.

I don't see why not actually.

Any newbie that read the ToS (granted, most probably don't) would understand that this 'pyramid selling' technique is against the rules, and therefore should have no recourse and only themselves to blame for the loss of their 'investment'.

Think about it... if someone was selling a "sim crasher" item that was distributed in a similar way, they'd be all over it and eliminate it. So why should this item be treated differently when it's also against the rules, just not quite at the same level of seriousness?

He problary is. However the only way to stop something like that would be to have the account shut down. I think it's fairly obvious that bafilius had an idea, but he just didn't realize how rabid the "free money" group of people (chair sitters, freeplay casino, people who don't pay into *ingo pots) on SL are. His account is less then a month old, i'm pretty sure this is just a newbie mistake that sadly is now out of hand.

People need to realize though, that once bafilius sold the first little $, it was no longer possible for him to stop this. He tried to code in a 70m radius to prevent people from spamming a site with them, but it looks like that got bugged up.

I didn't mean that as an insult. Look up Rabid in a dictionary (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=rabid if you want) "Extremely zealous or enthusiastic; fanatical". I meant that alot of the people that are getting the handout Lindens are constantly looking for the next quick and easy way to make more free lindens, this fits right in that alley.
