There was no comparison of a forum participant to Hitler, thus no Godwin's Law invocation. Simply mentioning Nazis, Hitler, or facism in general, especially in a discussion about history, isn't in and of itself an invocation. And besides, given its wonderful track record on usenet, what makes you think it'd be any more effective here?  |

Much to the chagrin of true capitalists everywhere, the Communist infiltration of SL is approaching dangerous levels. The communists have (nearly) succeeded in devaluing the L$ by 20% over the past few months. Additionally, their influence has strongarmed LL into maintaining stipends (which is money LL simply creates out of thin air) which is flooding the SL platform with a sea of L$s, leading to further devaluation. Moreover, lately they have increased their activity in the forum sector, escalating their socialist rhetoric to previously unseen levels. More and more forum posts demand "free" content and welfare. But nothing is free! The more LL hands out, the more we all pay. There is no free lunch. Somebody always pays. What on earth are you on about? I've never seen a Communist hand out a free lunch... a free bullet maybe... Ah, now I get it. You're one of those radical liberals who believe in invisible hands and that everything will be alright if only anarchy is given free reign. So, you're the real leftie in here? _____________________

Only thing I can say about this thread is are you really serious! It feels like a time warp back to the bad old days of the Cold War with the Americans being a tad over paranoid about the Communists. Who buy the way didn't take over the world and their govenments collapsed under thier own weight in the 1990's! What's next:- Communist witch hunts? Black lists for those who have Communist connections? Hearings to determine who is a communist? On registration of new member into Second Life asking their Political Views? Could it be the devaluing of the Linden down to market forces not from a dark conspiricy. I think today it's no different. Anyone who looks Arabic is taken as "suspicious" and might have links to some terrorist org. It's a sad world.  But yes that is off topic as someone else said. Sorry. But I'm posting it anyway! Or take an Econ class. People always whine for handouts, it doesn't make them communists, it makes them normal ol' lazy humans. And the 50L a week really won't effect inflation given the sinks set up in the system. The price of the linden has to do with elasticity in the market. People selling L$ want more money, so they fight to leave it at a lower price. Since they're the only source for L$ aside from actually working in game, if they all want it lower, it'll go lower. On the reverse side, people are willing to pay absurd amounts of money for L$ and virtual land... enough so that they don't really care what the sellers's rates are. We are not only increasing in power, we are increasing in numbers, big red maching has started, and revolution is simple a L away. |
