Much to the chagrin of true capitalists everywhere, the Communist infiltration of SL is approaching dangerous levels. The communists have (nearly) succeeded in devaluing the L$ by 20% over the past few months. Additionally, their influence has strongarmed LL into maintaining stipends (which is money LL simply creates out of thin air) which is flooding the SL platform with a sea of L$s, leading to further devaluation. Moreover, lately they have increased their activity in the forum sector, escalating their socialist rhetoric to previously unseen levels. More and more forum posts demand "free" content and welfare. But nothing is free! The more LL hands out, the more we all pay. There is no free lunch. Somebody always pays. These recent antics are evidence that the communist element of SL has stepped up their game and taken craftiness to a new level. They are much more organized and much more efficient than ever before. Hopefully, LL will use some of the $11 million dollar funding it received to ward off these dangerous elements before SL undergoes a communist revolution and we all end up standing in bread queues and using Pravada as toilet paper. We must stop this infiltration!! Tsk. Nobody is going to take you seriously unless you provide a list of names. I believe '57' is the traditional number. |

Well I don't know about anyone else but I pay 10 or so bucks a month for my 500L a week. Its a fair trade. Guess that makes me a commie.

I wish I could bring back the days that it was safe to ride on a bandwagon without having to first double-check to make sure the permissions were set un-freebie... Now I hardly bother, because some jerk might come take and copy the bandwagon and resell it and call it capitalism.   _____________________

thing is, if you have a situation where either all accounts cost money, or you have no stripend, many people will stop playing. taking this personally... im not going to pay for a frikking video game...monthly... are you mad ?
its a game, the money lets me play, if i wanted to pay real money or work hard to get fake money, id work more at my real job. truth is, the fake money is worth 0 to me. if LL said "ok, no stripends", i just wouldnt play, and more importantly, i wouldnt buy lindens when i find something i like. the stripends let me play slingo the other 90% of the time. and unless im playing slingo when im bored, im not in-world. and if im not in-world, thats 1 player lost. why play with no money to spend ? end of the day, it is a game, and games devalue over time as the technology ages and new games come out. You cant expect the linden to become a real contender to the US$, or even raise in value long-term. i mean, what the hell ? |

Ok, I do see your point. However, isn't asking for a handout the same as communism? I mean, you want it without working. Its a re-distribution of income, which is the heart of communist doctrine, is it not? uhhhhh what you just stated would make the U.S communist in retrospect IE disablitiy welfare etc. Asking for a handout has nothing to do with communism. In fact what the people of the world know as communism is in fact a facist dictatorship based partially off Karl Marx's idea. A true communist society would be eutopian where everyone was equal and had the same exact amount of money~! |
