Bitch bitch bitch everytime there is something that needs rectifiying.
Just go with the flow people, for if you were in their shoes you would have be the one
called upon to come up with solutions that others would be discontented with as well.

Why are human's never satisfied?

U should know.

About the- *guy shoves more popcorn in mouth*

*I punch him in nose, then while on the floor shoot him in the knee caps*

About the other thing you said, if we don't BITCH BITCH BITCH BITCH then we will never be HEARD HEARD HEARD HEARD because LL doesn't listen to the little guy (Thank god I ain't one of em' :P). If I was LL I would stop adding so many Fansy Smansy little details to the god damn game and just fix what I already have.

Some ppl tell me LL has too mch on their plate to handle it all, well they wouldn't have that much on their damn plate if they didn't keep cutting off pieces of that chicken and taking mashed patatoes without eating any of it at all!!! Now they have to deal with the gaint pile of shit on their plate!!!

I wonder if they bring the grid up a little after it's all fixed, so that all the Lindens can get online by themselves for a party, or to snicker at some of the more obscure builds... :D

ohhh i bet they do!

I HATE updates like everyone else, BUT they are nessasary. What do you propose that we dont have them, that bugs dont get fixed? That improvments or changes dont happen because we hate being down a few hours?. Suck it up, youll be back online soon, but until then you can wait like me because bitching about it doesnt do smack.

When the grid goes down, as it sometimes will..
And you scream and cry till your voice is shrill,
When your tier is due,
But the rates too high...
When your login dumps,
And you sit and cry...
When you say you want to tier down and quit....

...... don't bitch to me, I don't give a shit.

for those that mention wow. I played on wow euro servers for 6 months.
In the end part of the reason i gave up on it was that EVERY wednesday updates were coming and every week it was taking them longer and longer to fix. I remember numerous occasions when the servers were still off the following day when the patch had been applied the previous morning.

As for compenstating players, they werent actually "giving" anything.

-1 day play + 1 free day = 0

The grid has been down for updating every Wednesday for the past two months now.

Actually they gave us a whole wednesday, recently. I think it was the wednesday before the 1.10.6 downgrade. But then I live down under and normally sleep through the whole updating process. :p

When ever there is a problem, people start shouting how they said LL should of known everything and that this should of never happened; that LL shouldn't touch SL anymore. Yet when everything is going swimmingly, people start shouting about how they need this and that feature.

It's only been a couple hours, people. You'll be ok.

Because Europeans have Wednesdays off?

I think we did used to have Wednesdays off - the afternoons at least.

It was something to do with "tea". That or "crumpets"

Well, that isn't how it is for US servers, so I can't tell yes or no.

But they do not HAVE to give you ANYTHING for when they are down.

-1day + 1 free day = exactly how it would have been had they not gone down.

-1 day + 0 free credit = losing a day anyways.

Read the TOS, same with your internet supplier, same with your phone supplier. When they go down, you get nothing.

Not true, I get free minutes when my home phone supplier goes down :P, 5 per hours :P:P

I have 3 different internets so I don't really care about the internet suplier.

Updates are not always necessary Sarah. They are updating to fix bugs on NEW features as opposed to fixing bugs on already in features, then completely ignoring old bugs and having to at least minimally fix some bugs in the new content to make SL even RUN.

Bitching and whining really is not going to get anyone anywhere fast, but granted if the situation is as bad as I have seen today and last week, people are going to get pissed off, especially the ones that have in-game financial interests that this aflicts. We Europeans are also going to feel agrieved because of the fact that this happens in our evenings, and most Europeans can not play earlier because of work commitments, while the Americans/Canadians and South Americans can at least for the most part miss most of the inconvenience because of being in work. There really is little point yelling here, unless it is done through structure constructive argument, just saying you are pissed off by this is not helping.

On the matter of weekely updates, I'm not that fussed about the frequency, one of the first MMOGs I played (Astonia 3) when it was still a new pay-to-play game was updating every Sunday afternoon (and it was based in Germany for the record). The issue of the grid going down to fix bugs in a patch an hour or two after it has gone live is also not new to me, it used to happen in Puzzle Pirates on a regular basis, UNTIL the Three Rings opened up a dedicated test ocean that they could apply the patches to so that they would be tested thoroughly by any and all players so that they could bugfix and patch on the Ice server and be 95% certain that when they applied the patches to the other (now) 5 servers they would not need to take the servers down while they slapped in a hurredly constructed fix.

The best suggestion might be that any and all patches are run on the test grid for maybe a month, and that access to the test grid should be less restricted (as a test grid people are less likely to be inclined to make it their main area of use, especially if it is stated that roll backs, and down times are likely and that there might be a chance of the user data on the test grid getting wiped because something went wrong and needs a major reset). The virtue of derestricting access to the test grid and then allowing people to hammer the new patches there is that the Lindens can then deal with the problems without causing too much undue inconvience to the majority of the people in SL that would rather not bother with the test grid and just wait for the patches to hit the main grid. Another upside for the developers might be in the form of player input in the proposed updates and changes, and then should anything be recieved badly, the players can discuss the bad points, and help the Lindens work towards improving the way elements of updates are recieved.

This is myl first post. I don't bitch and moan much. But GODDAMIT someone needs to wake up, properly beta test, and get their shit together and Linden. AND MOST OF ALL... I'm sick to death of these idiotic, half-assed explanation, which amount to nothing more than "stories."

Been here maybe 8 months, and it's gotten worse over time. Now... for some GENUINE tech problem I don't mind waiting a bit. But the fact is... this reocurring pattern STINKS TO HIGH HEAVEN of a company grown lazy, careless, and simply not up to speed with the technology they boast of.

Truely, it's sad.

For the European players, don't forgot this is still our prime playing time too, when this started it was... 5:15pm EST for the East Coasters, it's the time when kids are getting home from schools and such (for those schools that have summers on), people are getting home from work, etc. It's now 4:50 for the guys on the West coast, and they are coming home to this too.

I am NOT advocating a 'leave it the hell alone' approach, and think that would be as much of a problem as consistent updates.

I AM, however, saying LL should hold off on updating until they can accumulate enough changes and preemptive bugfixes for those changes so they don't have to bring the grid down every week and disrupt everything.

The point I'm trying to make here is that while we really should have changes and improvements, they should be relatively infrequent.
