There is a new condition that will trigger the changed event, CHANGED_REGION_START, 0x400. Is there anything in your changed handler's test (maybe a typo, & where there should be && or ==) that might trip on this? ![]() . _____________________

Nice announcement on the blog about 1.27. But how about opening the blog notice to comments so everyone can be warned about the things you broke this time around?

Event Search Fix is Pending
07-17-2009 10:54
re: SVC-4563 - Events Search is still broken in the same way described above by Sven, that is: In areas updated to Server 1.27 if you enter a word into Events Search it only pulls up items with the search term as the first word of the title. Prior to update on 15 July 2009 and on areas still running server 1.26 it pulls up items with the search term anywhere in the title which is expected behaviour. http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4563 Yesterday's rollout fixed one half of this. The other half is still pending, but the code is ready, just waiting for a deploy slot. |

Yesterday's rollout fixed one half of this. The other half is still pending, but the code is ready, just waiting for a deploy slot. How about Monday or, better, late Sunday night? Residents, in general, would rather just have stuff work, even if it means an extra restart. And if search is broken, it's broken because you guys did stuff we were very, very much NOT asking for. Please fix it soon. And the sim stalls that have been torturing high-traffic places for months. And SVC-4142. And SVC-22. And these forums. And group chat. And 97 things we actually have been begging for for ages. /me knows CG isn't necessarily responsible for these things but LL management is making it increasingly clear that they are not interested in hearing anybody but cheerleaders. Sorry, CG - got nobody else to gripe at. Sindy ... get out of my bed before I turn my security orb back on! lol Mine now, sucka! ![]() _____________________

Do you people at linden labs realise that everytime you fix something in one of the rolling restarts or with a new viewer version, something else goes wrong. I spent half an hour with four different avi's trying to get onto second life. I got on alright, just my avi's refused to rez. I sat there for over eight minutes with one that remained nothing more than swirling ball of mist. I could tp, couldn't change outfit - all i could do was move and talk. all this after a fresh rolling restart. and yes, i clear my cache before i log off each and everytime. In the future, linden labs, please make sure that any upgrade or rolling restart will have absolutely no side-effects. If you cannot be 100% certain there will be no side effects, then it's quite simple - don't do it. If you continue with this sort of crap, it shows me and the rest of your clients you are nothing more than amateurs who are more concerned about your wallets than providing a working environment for your clients. get your collective heads out of the clouds.

disappointed....

I just spent half an hour with one of my avi's as nothing more than a white blob. Then got told the database couldn't find a skin, eyes, body shape. i also got told the same bullshit about friggin' server problems. you people at linden labs have fucked up. If this is the level of service we - the customer - gets from you, well you take your precious secondlife and shove it up your collective arses sideways. This is the same level of bullshit we had last year and you did nothing about it then just like you will do nothing about now. you are nothing more than a bunhc of incompitent amateurs who have no idea how to impliment a simple fucking idea.

Another stellar night in SL
07-17-2009 22:00
Map isn't updating, search is borked, traffic isn't updating. That next roll can't come too soon. Welcome to 1.27? It's more like welcome back 2007. One small step for the residents, a giant leap backwards for the grid. Who tests these things on the preview grid? IBM meetings analysts?
And excuse my French, but turning off comments on the blog is really chicken-feces politics. |

I'm noticing a couple of behaviours that I guess I'm not technically minded enough to refine into a jira report.
While shopping for hair tonight, I bought a lot of demos. I find that most hair vendors are just "unscripted prims set to sell contents". After a while, I noticed that the "buy" popup (the thing that shows you what all you're buying) would stop populating. That is to say, as far as the client was concerned.. the prim's contents were for sale, but the prim CONTAINED nothing. I went into Edit mode, and selected the vendinng prim.. and again.. nothing in contents. I selected the vendor of a demo hair I had previously purchased.. also empty. Relogging solved this.... for a while. Something seems to be throttling, or "filling up". 1.27 also hasn't solved the "everything is taking forever to load, and it all stays blurry" problem that was introduced in 1.26. It may have fixed it for some people, but for me, it's still really lots of grey and blurry textures.. and that's when the prims even show up (waiting 3-5 minutes after a teleport for all the prims in a store to show up). _____________________

"Unable to upload ..." notices
07-18-2009 05:11
I am getting repeated notices that the server is unable to upload various texture files even though the files appear to have been uploaded and baked successfully and my account has been deducted accordingly. This wouldn't trouble me apart from the annoyance of clicking 'OK' on the dialogs but I have seen a few posts about problems with textures this week and I hope it doesn't mean the system is going to barf these new textures out in a few days or weeks or whatever. I have seen the problem on both the Live Grid and the Beta Grid.
I guess this must be something to do with 1.27 because I never saw it happen prior to this restart and I haven't changed any client-side settings since I installed the latest viewer. |

If you're getting rezzing problems, try going back to the 1.22 client.

I'll leave v1.22 when you prise it from my cold dead fingers ... Given you're a vampire, I would have thought you already have cold, dead fingers. I guess they'll be around to sort you out with an update to 1.23 after daybreak. |

Relogging solved this.... for a while. Something seems to be throttling, or "filling up". I've seen this happening for a number of years in laggy sims (and most popular hair stores are pretty laggy). Usually if you check out the sim statistics, you'll see pending uploads/downloads, indicating the sim is just suffering under the load and not able to send you the contents of the prim/notecard/what-have-you. Doesn't sound new. ![]() _____________________

"Pending Downloads: 0"
in three years of SL, this has never happened before. I'm not talking about 1 or 2 vendors, I'm talking about EVERY VENDOR and EVERY OBJECT IN SL. I leave, I go to another sim, same problem.. yet somehow relogging fixes it? It's like I have a quota for the number of times I can get the inventory list of objects, when that fills up, I have to relog, otherise nothing appears to have any inventory, even my stuff. _____________________

Hmm, yes, if it's not relegated to just one sim, that doesn't sound normal. I'll keep an eye out and see if I notice anything similar. _____________________
