Day Oh, I've only heard of people getting logged out when using third-party viewers (which are likely not expecting the new pop-up)

Well, but it's a KickUser message... I'd be surprised if it didn't have the same effect on all viewers :P

It happens if you tp to an adjacent region and back again, and then try 3 or 4 times to tp out again.

Logout processing broken?
07-16-2009 10:30
With the shiny new server code, I now find when I logout I cannot login. Login for me now requires opening a ticket to get someoone to clear out my presence. Has anyone else seen this behavior?

Hey folks. We are pushing the rolling restart for 1.27.0 to 6:00PM PDT, instead of 6:00AM PDT. Once this rolling restart has completed the entire Second Life Grid will be running 1.27.0. We'll keep you posted.

Nice to find this info here .... but why nobody is updating Grid-status-Blog ?

Anyway ... good luck, LL

We will know when it comes, they had to face with a teleport problem on the status report, maybe with that clear up, the will start the rolling restart. however we won't know yet until then.

What's with editing the existing release notes instead of adding a new section for the new version?

Dante & Ambroff, Prospero set a high standard for transparency on this process, which we're now sorely missing. Bluntly: What's going on? We can adapt, but we need to know.

Now, according to the google calender on the status blog, there is also going to be a 1.27 rolling restart tomorrow at 2AM PST also. I just want to know when the rest of the grid will be restarted so that http-in is at the other sims I frequent. Also, what exactly is going on with postponing the restarts like this? Any explanations?

CG, it seems that this rollout is restarting the scripts in my vendors. This has worrisome implications, and it would be wonderful if LL could look into the issue.

In the last few minutes, I've gotten notification of vendors being reset from the following locations:
http://slurl.com/secondlife/White%20Wolf/171/213/29
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Dragon%20Claw%20Island/98/147/29
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Dragon%20Claw%20Island/98/144/29

Prior to that, I had reset notifications from:
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Anhalt%20Hill/103/181/45
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Nagasaki%20BAKUMATSU/43/90/22

-----

[ETA] I've gotten several more notifications, and it's not worth trying to list them all. I just provided the locations because I thought it might help LL track down the issue, but they don't appear to be at all interested.

To be honest, my first hunch would be that it's picking up the region restart event and resetting itself because of that...

The 1.27.0.127126 versions will end up being re-rolled.

You mean in the changed() event handler? I'm not testing for region restart, though I am testing for CHANGED_REGION, so I suppose if that flag was set it could cause it to restart itself.

re: region restart - aren't scripts restarted at every Rolling restart? I thought they were.

re: SVC-4563 - Events Search is still broken in the same way described above by Sven, that is:

In areas updated to Server 1.27 if you enter a word into Events Search it only pulls up items with the search term as the first word of the title. Prior to update on 15 July 2009 and on areas still running server 1.26 it pulls up items with the search term anywhere in the title which is expected behaviour.

.

There is a new condition that will trigger the changed event, CHANGED_REGION_START, 0x400. Is there anything in your changed handler's test (maybe a typo, & where there should be && or ==) that might trip on this?

Nope. Absolutely not.

If scripts reset on sim restarts, rolling or not, things like debit permissions would have to be re-granted every time.
