Yes, as she said on the line immediately following the one you quoted.

what i meant with that is that in the current state SL is pretty much useless for any of the things that i enjoy doing in SL.

then why didn't you do it?

I'm definitely not a bot but only one out of 4 or more teleports works. the rest fail with "The system did not respond in a timely fashion", followed by "Teleports have been blocked". The latter stays in effect several minutes, with the result that it takes me up to 15 MINUTES to get somewhere.

If you can't fix that, fix the goddamn sim borders, I can get faster than 15 minutes from A to B on my bike...

The fact that failed teleports count against the threshold is a bug, and we'll be relaxing the threshold in 1.27.1 (until we deploy code that only counts successful teleport attempts).

Those who are having teleport issues, it's probably helpful to note whether you're talking about the "teleport is blocked" message, or some other teleport failure, or loss of connection after teleporting with no error message?

/me still hopes for some comment from LL about the sim stalls when people TP in. Y'all know about this, Dante, right?? Right??? It's been a couple months and it's still really, really painful...

Are you referring to https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-4196 and https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-3895

Aha, that's why I don't compile scripts in my HUDs and vehicles to mono. It seemed to me from the start that mono would have this sort of issue (not specifically this impact, but a higher overhead on rezzing and sim crossing), simply from the nature of the VM.

I don't think those quite cover it, Dante.

It's not that scripts slow down or hang for a few seconds - the entire region stops. No physics updates; no scripts work; chat, if you're lucky, gets reordered and, if not, just plain lost; sim stats stop. Everything stops working.

It's not just people wearing lots of mono scripts. Though I'm a little prim-heavy, I'm nearly unscripted - just a non-mono zhao and an abranimations hugger (dunno mono or not) - and I can make this problem happen every time, even on a totally idle region.

Every time somebody even a little prim-heavy and/or script-heavy TPs to my place, everybody gets to stop for at least a few seconds, sometimes 10-20 seconds.

My place, being new on zindra, has only a bit over 20k (zero bots, zero camping) traffic right now but it's usually around +30k. Can you imagine how fun this problem is where I live and how happy I've been with LL over the last couple months?

This is one of the worst performance problems I've seen since I started and it happens on every region. It's not limited to SanFran or Phoenix or Dallas because I've wandered around until I found regions hosted in each of these areas and tested it there. I know LL knows about it because I've demonstrated it to the concierge and a comsys person on idle regions, over a month ago.

I know you, Dante, are not responsible for this issue but I have to admit that I'm getting pretty pissed off at LL about this. If you guys want businesses to take you seriously, you need to fix things that are so obviously and horribly broken.

Goes along with I tried to post a event today on my adult rated sim and couldn't because the events listing saw it as a pg rated sim so now it's back to mature until LL gets things straight

That's a known issue. I've been told the work-around is to post the event as PG, and search will pick it up as adult because it's on an adult region. Let me know if you try that and it doesn't work.

I can imagine this answer might be frustrating, considering that you've demonstrated this to multiple people already, but I'd definitely open a pjira for it, if you haven't already. Include photos or a link to a video, if possible; the more information the better. Just because a few people know doesn't mean all the right people know, and pjira is the best way to submit bugs. Once you have a pjira, please point me to it.

Sick of crashing when you drive across a sim border? Vote for SVC-22!!!

The internal jira for SVC-22 was resolved in 2007 in server 1.13. This was before my time, but apparently some things broke after the switch to havok4; maybe this was one of them. Regardless, I've gone ahead and re-opened it.

o_O

I don't think it's *ever* been considered "fixed".

Yeah, well, I sorta assumed that my concierge tier would get me something more than a black hole when I report and demonstrate such a nasty problem. (and, again, you're just a convenient Linden to gripe at - please don't take it personal..)

/me adds SVC-4616. Not really setup to record video and not sure how a picture would help though if somebody had an idea, I could make one.

From: SVC-4616
sim stalls when people who are a bit prim and/or script heavy TP in (or log in or fly in, etc)

Any time somebody even a little heavy with scripts and or prim attachments enter a region, the region seems to stall. No physics updates, no script time, chat gets misordered or just plain lost, all sorts of bad.
This is pretty easy to demonstrate, even on an idle region. Just fly in circles - hold the up and left arrows down - then have a prim/script heavy friend TP in. As the sim stalls and stops sending you updates, you'll go flying off in a straight line. Once the sim wakes back up, you'll snap back to flying in circles.

On a high-traffic area, like I have, having the sim just stop responding for 30 seconds every few minutes is really, really painful.

See also: ticket 4051-6355174 and chat 4051-360499. Also chatted with a ComSys person about this and showed him the problem but a recent uninstall of the RC viewer seems to have eaten all my IM logs and chat logs from the last 3 years - don't have a copy of that one.

I don't think this is SVC-4196 or SVC-3895 unless those seriously understate the impact of this issue.

I also wandered around to find regions hosted in SanFran, Dallas and Phoenix and could repro the problem on all of them.

LOL.. I tortured poor Andrew about this one at almost every one of his Thursday office hours last year.. Thankfully, he's pretty good natured. TY for poking it. :)

Wouldn't It Make Sense To Have A List On The Wiki, On A Sticky In The Forums, Or Both? So The List Is Not As Losable?
If On Forums, Under Server Deploys Would Be A Good Spot Probably , And Name It "Pilot Release Opt-in List" Or Something About Opting In.
If On Wiki Page Should Be Locked, And Requests Made On Its Talk Page. Maybe Something Like http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Pilot_Release_Opt_In_List
If On Both, Wiki Page Be A Copy Of One On Forums.

This sounds like a good idea to me, and I've circulated the idea internally and didn't hear any objections. Unless someone raises a strong argument against it, I'll put the pilot list onto a protected pwiki page later in the week.

Edit: This has been done. The list is here:

https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Agni_Pilot_Regions
