My #1 peeve: People whine about voice even tho its an option.
I've used voice maybe 3 times. Nice to have the option, but not a requirement. Same old crap as TV & Radio: Don't like it? Turn it off! Change the station! #2: Explaining SL to someone! OMG! It causes "Deer in Headlights" syndrome immediately!! Its worse if someone only hears "make money", "computers", "sex". I've given up explaining SL to people at work, as the stupid F**king rednecks only hear those 3 things. Let alone own a computer. Out of 40 people, only 1 heard of Warcraft, 2 have used eBay, and 5 own computers. Did I mention I hate my job??? Gonna stop before I go on a rant! ![]() #3: People that expect an item to EXCEED the limits of Second Life! Like, Geez, you spend a whole 10 Cents (real money) on something, you expect it to be german-engineered-perfection? _____________________

People who look down on others just because they are not as technically with it as they are, don't own as fancy a computer, or aren't in the know about things they percieve evryone should know. Especially when they are well over 17, and should have grown up by now.

Blimey I don't have to time to read through the whole thread!!!
But ...... Two things that completely irrationally annoy me are: # People doing really fast lively dances at a Live Music Event when the artist is playing a really, slow, sad song. There's me doing my melancholy slow music listening sway and the guy next to me is kicking his feet high in the air having selected "Crazy Jive" from the dance mat. Grrrr. Use your imagination. Pick an appropriate dance. Go to Abraminations or something. Jeez! # People who wander about at Live Music events. I don't mean change position for a better view, or move to a different dance ball. But for the entire hour, wander across your field of vision and point at things then put their hands on their hips then fly for a bit then sit on a chair then put on a big hat then dance for a bit then wander off somewhere else then fly for a bit more then do a really lively dance to a slow song then come and stand next to you then ........... Grrrrr. If you have a short attention span ... go and do something that ..... I don't know ...... doesn't last very long. Grrrr <and relax> _____________________

I just downgraded from Premium to Basic. In order to do so, I had to discontinue donating tier to my real estate group. That done, I downgraded, and promptly learned that I would be charged for the "free" 512m2 tier that I'd had with my Premium membership, since one gets charged for the highest area one has owned during the previous month (or in this case, the highest area one has contributed to a group). Of course, being Basic I no longer had many options for filing a support ticket, and when I did get a response it was to explain how one gets charged for tier held for the previous month. It just seems to me that first 512m2 tier covered by a Premium membership should be covered by the Premium membership fee.

Just got reminded of another one:
I hate it when store owners constantly hold special sales for a few hours in the middle of a weekday. I don't know if they are catering to the non-US crowd or if they are trying to get miore people there during a slow time, but it would be nice if they would at least sometimes have those sales outside of my work hours - weekday evenings or weekends. I had to manipulate things enough to get to the Forums from work - trying to actually get inworld is just dreaming. _____________________

I do most of my looking in early hours or way early hours lol, when people are on, I dont want to shop. Unless Im shopping with a beautiful woman. Face it, taking your male friends out to shop ujust aint the same. But even then, I am not a big shopper. I may look through 30 0places and buy one thing, or none. What makes it fun is having others there. Personally I can do all my Xmasshopping in one day without ever leaving my house. My wife got pissed cause she faced after thanksgiving day sales, and I went to internet, founf everything I wanted, located them all convenmiently in one mall. And completed my shopping in 2 hours. The mall was half houe drive away. For me, I would rather look in onrex, or slexchange. If I see stuff that interests me, I may go to the store to see if they have other things. Otherwise, forget the sales. Last one i tried to go to was some hair place, everyone was there for 10 hair styles. and it took like 40 minutes to ress the place and then i crashed. I left my shoppping date there to have fun and found other pleasures. That being said, if Miss Jewel or Miss. Claire want to go shopping, Ill even hold your purse lol. Just don't expect me to behave lol. Spadesrun _____________________

My Mom, who I love dearly, just swears that SL is going to be the death of my marriage. Ignoring the fact that my husband and I are on there TOGETHER!...lol Of course, I still can't get her to understand her cell phone much less a computer. _____________________

Spadesrun We already had a thread where I described my reaction to being told to hold a woman's purse while she went in a store or tried something on. Major pet peeve for me, and it is guaranteed to be a thoroughly humiliating and expensive situation for the woman as I empty the purse upside down on the ground, steal her money, eat anything edible all in one bite (yes, I CAN fit two entire packs of gum and a box of breath mints in my mouth at once) and then proceed to entertain the entire store with whatever else is inside there. No, I don't care if it ends the relationship. Yes, tampons and lipstick can be hilarious. No, I've never been ordered to hold someone's purse more than once. Oh, I hate that. Sitting around some stupid store with a purse on my lap. I'd rather be anywhere than that. _____________________

If you did you wouldn't be siting in a chair while she shops. You would be snuggling in close whispering in her ear as she has both hands free to touch whatever she wants. to rub her sides and nibble on her neck.even sneak in a couple swats on her ass as she walks away. But the reason to be there with her, is so you can see what she is interested in so you don't show up Christmas day with an electric tooth brush. Hmmm, maybe we need to talk Trout ..... Hold on, this lady needs help shopping for bras ... I think the one that clasps in front with the red rose trim ..yeah that one. Lets go see how it looks on you .......... _____________________

Why would I do any of that stuff if she's leaving me stranded in some awful shopping mall, sitting on an uncomfortable bench holding, of all the humiliating things to hold, her purse? I don't want to snuggle with her, I want to hand her purse to the nearest criminal and leave. I mean, seriously. If she cares that little about me, that all I am is a secure coat hanger for her purse, then why am I with this woman? Yeesh. I sound pretty harsh there. Like I said, having someone stick a purse in my face and say, "hold this and sit over there" and then flounce off while I sit there like a wounded puppy is just a real problem for me. I guess if she approached it right, it wouldn't be an issue, but that one is really a sore nerve. _____________________

The the store manager asks us to leave and I tell my wife next stop better have beds . Haven't had her disagree yet ![]() Maybe that's the difference. Well, I've been asked to leave also, but it was for entirely different reasons. If I'm with someone I love and hanging out and enjoying her company, then I don't care if we're shopping or whatever, as long as we're together. It's the ordering me around and telling me where to sit and what to do that gets on my nerves. "Sit here and hold this. I'll be back." That's not cool, and requires immediate negative consequences...like me wearing her empty purse as a hat while I make wall art with sanitary napkins. _____________________

Having been raised in an all male household of 3 older brothers, I can say each of them, along with my pops, has had to pick up tampons for me at the drug store. I don't recall ever asking them to hold my purse, but I DO remember them offering to hold it for me when my hands were full. I've never asked a guy to go sit on a bench while I went shopping, though. How rude! If anyone told me to do this, I'd simply say, no. Or say sure, I'll wait for you, then leave.

I only ask hubby to hold my purse while I'm taking off or putting on my coat.
Trout, how about if I ask nicely and invite you into the dressing room with me? ![]() I'd NEVER order you to sit/stay; that's a command for the dog. And he gets a treat for obeying. |
