I'm sure something similar has been posted before, but I have a few things that annoy me in SL and thought it would be interesting to see others. Post yours if you have em'. - First... objects that fly/float in the air and get in your face. Example is a hummingbird that seemed to want to hover right in front of me at a store entrance. I tell you what store owners.. you put one of these in or around your store and I'm not shopping there. Nothing like something invading my space like that to turn me away. - Pesky salespeople. When I'm out and about looking for land (for example) I usually like to scope things out on my own. Lately I can't teleport in without someone coming right up to me before I've even had a chance to let things draw out and view the "about land". Yea, its nice to have help.. but I'd rather see an "I'm online" box and ask for help. Its like going into a car lot. When this happens I teleport right out and you've lost a possible sale. (yea, I know I could say I'm just looking just like in RL but it still bugs me) - Horrible teleport locations. I know this might not be the landowners fault necessarily, but whats with teleporting me under water, under your building, or even half a SIM away from your place. - Buildings that are no copy. Ever have a rez go horribly wrong? I bought a pool recently that was no copy and it took me HOURS to set up because I had missed a few items when trying to move it and ended up with a bunch of pieces that wouldn't fit together. Sorry but if your build is no copy no modify, I'm no longer buying. (Disclaimer, I know what is annoying to me might be good to others and thats ok of course...)

Are you kidding? Where should we start??
- Hopping on a dance ball and ending up embedded in your partner's chest for a while, waiting for the dance to start. - Disappearing or invisible prims - Anything bling - Airhorns and text gestures in dance places - Sinking below ground when moving too quickly - Having to wait for clothes/objects/buildings/friends to rez when you're in a really big hurry - Hair that sticks out behind you when you move your head - Skirt prims that stick out behind you when you walk - No-transfer items (why not just stick to no-copy for things that would make nice presents???) - Legs doing that crazy bendy thing when you're up to high - Squirrels

Last time I went car shopping my husband and I made bets on how many seconds it would take at each lot to be set upon by a salesperson...lol.

Hooooooo!
Also, builds that dun account for small avvies. Stairs are notorious trouble spots.

* Lag. Lot's of it. I know a lot of it is video lag, from my older hardware...but still, it annoys me, regardless its origin.
* Not being able to drop items from my inventory. This bugs the hell out of me. And don't tell me, 'build a box, then try again', because that doesn't work.
* Not being able to link items that are close together, because the sim says, 'can't link, items are too far apart.' Pshhh...ya right.
* Non-flying, non-RP sims.
* Really bad design.
* Land owners that rent land, and then split without warning--or boot you for no reason.
* Vendors that use floating text near other vendors...this ticks the hell out of me. They are either completely selfish, or entirely bovine.
*Mall owners that don't move the rent box out of the way after you rent--oh thanks, stick that thing right on my wall, with floating text for everyone to see. Not only should rental matters be private, but a rental box in my store destroys my design flow completely. Unlike many vendors, I actually care about design.
Well....those are the main ones. Cheers!

Lately I've been very annoyed by people coming to Long Beach and asking me if I'd like to come visit their sim followed by their offer of a LM. Since these people are usually standing on my lot I promptly tell them never to spam me again and orbit them. So far I've never seen one come back for more abuse.

I've got one of these at my cafe and I've received nothing but positive comments about it. It's one of the cooler scripted items I've seen ... I'm sorry you felt it was an annoyance, and I hope that if visitors to my place felt this way they'd let me know instead of just turning away without comment. From: someone - Pesky salespeople. When I'm out and about looking for land (for example) I usually like to scope things out on my own. Lately I can't teleport in without someone coming right up to me before I've even had a chance to let things draw out and view the "about land". (yea, I know I could say I'm just looking just like in RL but it still bugs me)
I must be shopping at the wrong places because I've never seen a salesperson, anywhere. I saw a robot once - looked like "Rosie" from the Jetsons - that said some things to me but I wasn't sure what function it was supposed to perform so I didn't interact with it anywhere. From: someone - Buildings that are no copy. Ever have a rez go horribly wrong? I bought a pool recently that was no copy and it took me HOURS to set up because I had missed a few items when trying to move it and ended up with a bunch of pieces that wouldn't fit together. Sorry but if your build is no copy no modify, I'm no longer buying.
and then Brann said ... From: someone - No-transfer items (why not just stick to no-copy for things that would make nice presents???)
In my experience, I want transfer when I want transfer, and I want copy/mod when I want copy/mod. I can't really expect shop owners to read my mind and provide whichever I want whenever I want it. The best I can hope for is that they are accommodating and willing to give me the one I prefer at any particular moment, when their default is the other. From: someone - Airhorns and text gestures in dance places
This really bugs me too. I've never really gotten into the club scene because (apart from the frame rate slowing to 1 fps crawl, which I'd be able to tolerate if the chat were fun) I can't stand people filling my chat screen with ascii art. My biggest annoyance is this: If you TP into my cafe, and I say hello to you by name - as I do to every single visitor I see there - don't leave without acknowledging me. Especially if you wander around touching all the objects and trying all the poseballs - just freaking say hello to me, okay? You don't have to stay, you don't have to engage me - but don't just ignore me when I address you directly. It's fricken rude. I hate it.

From: Brann Georgia Squirrels For shame. If I wasn't selling my mainland I'd have to ban you from my squirrel friendly sanctuary!! What annoys me ... let's see. Levitation of objects (houses are not meant to hover 10m off the ground). Water running (it makes me want to run to the loo). Alpha flickering and/or z fighting. Both heinous. People who fall off flight vehicles and leave them there. This is newbie meets banline usually. Yeah I think things floating about is my real bugbear.

I can't seem to think of anything that drives me crazy. For me it's usually easily avoided or worked around. Airhorns, woohoo and clicky heels? I usually have sounds turned off anyway. Never hear them. Chat spam at clubs? I'm usually in IM with the chat window up so I never see it. What is driving me batty is my search for the perfect hair, but since I'm not sure what I want, it does make it difficult to find it

Bad builds. Yes, I know style is a matter of taste, but some things just need a bit of care. How difficult is it to align two 10m walls on a linear grid? To notice z-flicker and nudge a prim the tiny amount to correct it?
Butchered terrain. Again, a matter of taste, but there are plenty of solutions to building on a slope other than smashing it flat.
Hover text. Fine when used in moderation, hideous when it overlaps or is visible through walls.
Chatspam/ASCII gestures. Seems I'm not alone on this one either.
Narrow spaces in malls that fight with my camera positioning.
Prim litter. Please landowners, turn on Object Return. It helps combat littering, particle griefing and other anti-social behaviour.
"No Entry" on parcels for sale. Nothing makes a customer feel welcome like being ejected from the spot they are trying to view.
Likely I'm preaching to the choir, here.

Your blowkiss is cute, Lil. Let 'er rip. (You mentioned "hangout". Bad bad Lil! Are you trying to get us into trouble?) I love your hummingbird Madhu The secret to a trouble-free Second Life? Don't attach any prims, park your butt where there aren't any animations or pose balls, and just chat with some interesting people. Hmmm, wait a minute... sounds like IRC B.

Apart from the rainbow wheel of death appearing at the most inopportune time, ("Ahh, Come ON! You've got to be kidding! I can't beLIEVE this!" , there isn't much that truly annoys me in SL except maybe the ill-mannered. I think what we'll find is, what drives one person crazy is perfectly OK for someone else. A lot like real life. Actually, if a hummingbird flew up to inspect me in RL, I probably couldn't wait to tell someone what just happened to me, and I don't mind them at all in SL.

Bec i thought cats did that in general (typed as my cat does a 360 in mid air and runs into the bathroom door :/)

Um.... well, complainers drive me nuts. But, if we're talking just SL..I have a list lol
Ban lines. Fugly, ridiculous...just get a security orb, what can anyone REALLY do to your property in SL aside from wander thru it.....they can't steal....they can't vandalize (if you haven't got it build enabled anyway, if you do, oh well, you've left yourself vulnerable) I hate ban lines.... I would love to see someone create an aggressive dobermin that barks and growels and chases ya off property where you're not wanted....at least that would be a bit more authentic.
Chat/text gestures at clubs that fill up the entire screen. Who are these people trying to impress? Oh yeah, themselves, nevermind.
Wearable items that are no modify..... since when are all avatars created equal? It drives me bonkers when I get a cool prim skirt especially and it's so huge I'g have to wear it around my shoulders to make it fit right....but it's no mod, so unless I want to make hoola-hoops the latest fashion trend, I'm SOL. And belts....why in hell would ya make a belt no mod?!!! Oh...and I bought a beautifully crafted choker not long ago that would only have fit a childs neck, or severely under nourished adult. It was no mod. *sigh*
People that send TP's to ya without ever asking if you WANT one of if you're busy....subsequently covering your inventory while you're getting dressed so that when you go to select your hair or shoes you wind up clicking the accept button~!!! That's a big-un.
Group Chat.

Haha.. the hummingbird. Yes, that drives me crazy too! In RL I might like it for a second, but the way it sticks to my head really is unnecessary. I think the deal is that it will stick to the closest avatar so if you run it will eventually leave. The hummingbird isn't as bad as some of the more creepy things that do the same or similar. I too don't like when you are shopping and they put the rows of items so close together that when you turn you can't see whats on display. That or when you have to get within 6" of the item to read the details. I'm mildly annoyed when there are so many items I have to fly to see them all. Sometimes its fun. If I had a bit more control over flight it would be better - sometimes I hit forward and I smash right into the wall... hit backwards and I'm backing up into another avatar. Sorry people! (and yes, I haven't mastered mouse look yet..) One thing that bugs me lately.. if I'm creating "outfits" and some of the items are no copy, I have to create a separate folder for those items and then remember to add those to my outfit after a change. Copy, modify AND transfer.. just like RL. Worry more about the customer than those stealing items.
