I'm so danged mad at you for that stuff a while back. I'll NEVER forgive you for whatever it was you did to piss me off. In fact, I'm considering following you around and saying awful things about you to all your friends in IM. I'm sure they'll take my side. /me glares angrily at Oryx and plots his revenge for something she did which he wasn't aware of until this very moment and still can't quite fathom what it might be. Post barfy smileys at her. Trust me. ![]() _____________________

2. People, especially people in these forums who over-do it trying to act nice. They want to be one of the crowd so bad so they over-do it acting this way but the phoniness is so transparent. Pantomime villains. _____________________

Sometimes you haven't rezzed for them yet, though, so they don't actually know that they bumped you. I tend to ignore it unless someone shoves me across a room (or the equivalent). I do try to take that into account, and that some people might not even be aware of the mini map feature. That's why it's more of a RL pet peeve than an SL one since I'm pretty sure I've rezzed for those people in RL. (pretty sure, not positive though...lol) _____________________

(pretty sure, not positive though...lol) I don't know...I worked in retail when I was younger and I'm pretty sure some of those customers never saw me. Or, if they did, they didn't recognize me as a fellow human being. ![]() _____________________

Nah, I've tp'd into places plenty of times where the buildings rezzed fairly quickly, but the people didn't. I usually rely on my MystiTool radar and just fly up if it tells me they're close. _____________________

Yeah, one thing that bugs the crap out of me is when someone who knows they are technically correct, yet they keep going on, and on, and on, trying to drive their point home, even when people GET IT. They do this till they lose the whole point, and lose their friends in the process...Oh! sorry, I must be rambling...

...I'm mildly annoyed when there are so many items I have to fly to see them all. Sometimes its fun. If I had a bit more control over flight it would be better - sometimes I hit forward and I smash right into the wall... hit backwards and I'm backing up into another avatar. Sorry people! ... Karia...you've already got a response telling you about using your camera to whiz your viewpoint around, without having to fly. When doing that, you can go a lot farther if you go into the Client menu and Disable Camera Constraints. As for flying itself... 1. Mouselook will save you a lot of messing with the arrow keys. Hit F, then M. Put the crosshairs on what you want to fly to. Hold the Up arrow key. Steer with the mouse if you need to. (You can also steer your avatar with the mouse WITHOUT being in Mouselook. Put your cursor on yourself. Hold down the left mouse button. Hold down the Up arrow key. Steer your avatar by sliding the mouse left or right. I've used this one for walking, but haven't tried it yet while flying.) 2. You can get much finer movement control if you hold down the spacebar. (This woks for walking as well as flying. Good for maneuvering in close quarters, or lining yourself up for a hug. _____________________

Nah, I've tp'd into places plenty of times where the buildings rezzed fairly quickly, but the people didn't. I usually rely on my MystiTool radar and just fly up if it tells me they're close. Exactly - sometimes it takes FOREVER for people to appear, even after everything else has rendered. I keep an eye on the minimap and try not to go anywhere too soon, but if it's a busy teleport location, I try to get out of the way so I don't get people landing on me. I was so guilty of crashing into people when I was new. I just didn't understand that they hadn't rezzed yet. I try to cut new people a lot of slack on anything other than outright rudeness. I figure they just don't know better. _____________________

Failed TP's & SIM Restarts & Cheating BOTS
02-26-2008 14:21
As the title depicts.
All too often, 3 out of 5 TP's fail to a log off. I am tired of SIM's constantly being restarted all the time. BOTS cheating on camping & land spots. _____________________

Yea im tired of Guys who immidiately want to Voice ((thats inviting you into a private sector of my life and requires a certain level of trust that cannot be achieved within the first 15 minutes of meeting))
I agree.. I am tired of SIM/Store Owners who want to take me on a magical "disney" wonderland tour of their sim...forcing me to walk thru all the bells and whistles...falling into waterfalls and off decks..((when all I wanted was boots)) Im tired of opening a persons profile to be greeted with rude warnings about RL/SL and smart little quipps about how I'll never get to look into their rl unless i ask nicely. The creators of SL named that tab 1st life for a reason..they placed the add photo option there..if you don't want to contribute don't..guess what i just found out about you in rl?..((you're paranoid )). I'm tired of the doublestandard..People with store names like (F'Ugly) will as soon place pictures of jesus knocking on a door next to an escort parcel I'm building and ignore me assuming i'm an escort..((never acknowledging the fact that F'ugly is abbreviation for F****ing Ugly)) Friends who use the resident online announcement as a "starting gun" for the race to see who can IM me first. The amoral attitude that because it's all virtual there aren't really any real people with real feelings behind any of these pixels. There's tons more I'm sure..these were what i thought of this last minute Lana Tomba _____________________

[12:34] The baby in xxxxxxxxx's tummy grows restless, causing xxxxxxxxx no end of grief.
Being added to a group so you can rez your vendor on a spot you've paid for and finding out later that the group starts dinging your account for group liabilities. Nice. At least tell me beforehand if I'm helping offset the 30L/week cost of the vendor area's parcel directory fee. Funny story related to the first item: I was helping a child av in my store one day (very nice young lady, too). A little bit later, Mommy shows up holding an infant in her arms. A few minutes later, one of those "baby in mommy's tummy" chat things kicks in. The child av turns around and says "My, Mommy, you sure work fast." |

Pet peeves - oh goody! Complaining is fun.
1. I get a little annoyed when I TP to a store and I get bombarded with a notecard and then a landmark. Merchants, I can create my own landmark if I'm interested in coming back, but I'll be the judge of that. I guess they're just being friendly, but it's the repetition that gets tedious. I must stress that this is a tiny annoyance and it won't keep me from returning to your store or anything. 2. I don't much like gigantic anime hero shoes. This seems to be about all you can find for guys. Come on folks. I do not have air craft carriers for feet. I don't make shoes, but it can't be that impossible to make them look a little more believable. And ladies - don't you ever wear flats? I mean, the stiletto heels are like lethal weapons. I don't find them very attractive in RL or SL. 3. While we're on the subject of ladies. Would more of you consider putting some meat on your bones? Anorexic mannequins are not always attractive. At least not if half the ladies you meet are that way. There's nothing wrong with being Rubenesque or womanly. 4. I get a lot annoyed when I'm out walking and get ejected before I can turn around and leave due to lag or disorientation. I have come to appreciate security systems however as an indication of a landowner who is not remotely like me and therefor would have nothing remotely of interest to me. It would be nice to pass through to a more interesting parcel unassaulted, but I do respect a landowners right to THINK they are protecting some precious something or other that they are convinced I'm trying to intrude upon. They are still welcome on my land and even in my house. And much of what has already been mentioned annoys me too. That's quite enough complaining from me I think. Thanks for the outlet. |
