From: Brann Georgia Most often, the "tight around the ankles" pants have been assigned to the underwear layer.
That's so you can wear the pants with boots and thigh highs... It tucks into the boot. I wish we had more layers and more attachment points! It's getting so I juggle attachment points like I do prims....

Grrrr... I know what you mean. I have a $L1,000 dress sitting in my inventory that has NO pants with it. And it is so low cut in the back, none of my lingerie will work with it. I won't go commando, so there it sits. Very frustrating!

From: Rhaorth Antonelli LOL pretty much (ask anyone who knows me, chances are, yep) (of course not 24 hours, that is just common sense, however, I do spend about 10 hours a day on SL, so chances of catching me are pretty high) Hey, i'm just teasing but 10 hours in which timezone? and *only* 10 hours? (lightweight)

If you contacted the designer and they did not comply, take a pick of you in it and email it to me - the best rez you can- I will try and make you what u need. Since you know me, you also know- I will immediately then delete the texture because I have no desire to steal another's work- this is offered to you as a friend and only if you cannot get the original designer to help you out on it. Let me know later

From: Kitty Barnett Done ranting now . Oh but it was a good rant indeed... From: someone That's so you can wear the pants with boots and thigh highs... It tucks into the boot. Ah but if the pants are mod you can just shorten them so it still looks tucked into the boot.. An option I prefer on jeans unless a underpants layer is included.

While we are making pleas to designers, here is one of my biggest "wants":
If the outfit includes 3 skirts of different lengths, then either give me copyable versions of the other items or give me 3 copies of them because I will want to create 3 separate folders -- I sub-categorize my skirts by length.

(lightweight) ah, sorry, I tend to take things as text value, hard to know when someone is teasing and not SL timezone, 10 hours on a short day heh I wonder if there is a way to find total logged hours....

And even then, the 3 categories have hundreds of folders under them. Though that "awesome inventory management" does include a HUGE, HUGE folder of "clothes" not yet sorted.

From: Colette Meiji Theres also those who don't make a copy first then modify prim parts to the point they've destroyed the item for all intents and purposes who contact the designer wanting either a new copy or a refund. And then there's the designers who make the prim skirt modifiable but not copiable. The only time I have ever had to contact a designer for a prim attachment that I damaged was for a skirt that I couldn't copy before I modified because it sold as no-copy.

I have my !Clothes folder organised ok, it's the folder called "!Kinky Stuff" that needs several iterations. (I prefix my folders with ! to make them sort together)

My glitch pants are not modifiable. If they were the only way you could modify them after you bought them would be to make a whole new texture for them, in which case why do you need my pants to be modifiable, or to just shorten them with the sliders which will give you a very messy looking hem that I don't want clothes you buy from me to have.
I could just offer the pants and prim skirt in several different lengths but of course then I would charge for the extra clothes in the box and lots of people don't want that. I certainly understand that a lot of people don't want to buy what I do sell but some people think they are just right.
As I see it the real problem is the horribly designed SL avatar mesh.

Customer is always right? If they're shortened and stockings are worn instead, I can deal with that, i'd rather have that choice than be forced to wear long pants under a dress because then it's not really a dress that i'm wearing anymore. So offer one long and one as a pair of delicately finished pair of underwear panties.

From: spinster Voom Is there a reason demo hair and skins can't be transferable? If I am shopping for these I tend to pick up a load of demos before buying the one that's right. Often, I'll think "well, that doesn't suit me, but it would look great on my friend", but I can't pass it on. I can't help thinking that creators are missing a trick in terms of word-of-mouth advertising here.
Oooh totally. I was just thinking this the other day while helping out a newer friend. How frustrating to have to drag her to a shop, when I can just send her a demo skin!

From: Sassy Romano Customer is always right? Of course, but you won't be my customer if I don't sell what you want to buy. I imagine designers who make either custom pants or design-your-own kits would charge a lot more for them than I do for my off the rack stuff. (As it happens I do have a couple of dresses in my store that come with very short pants and stockings. It's because the skirts are quite full and don't need glitch pants.)

One of the things that we go back and forth on is whether it is better to have Copy or Transfer on clothes. Usually, I personally prefer Transfer so that I can give items away and let others benefit from them also, but I know that a very large number of people prefer Copy. I recently was in a store that actually popped up a blue box asking if you wanted a Copy or Transfer version when you bought an item. I think I have seen this in a couple of stores, but definitely not very many. I do not know what is involved in giving the customer this option, but if you do not know either and are interested in maybe giving your customers that option, you could contact the owner of this store and see how they do it. From: Kitty Barnett No mod on prims to prevent recreation/copying is no more effective than making a notecard no mod and thinking noone will be able to copy it; the text of the notecard is still visible and can simply be copy/pasted and it's essentially no different for prims or clothing or anything other than scripts. No-mod prim items serve at least four purposes: 1) It prevents people from using scripts to duplicate objects. It doesn't prevent copybot. 2) It prevents buyers from damaging the item, which can either cause a support request or make the object a poor presentation of the builder's skills, or both. 3) It prevents someone from dropping a malicious script into an object you created and getting you into trouble. More important for transferable objects than non-trans. 4) It prevents buyers from making variants the seller would rather you buy. If no-mod hair becomes a trend I'll be unhappy since I tend to do more than re-size hair. No-mod notecards serve at least two purposes: 1) Prevents people from screwing them up, which may cause a support request. 2) In transferable objects it prevents people from putting words in your mouth. No-mod notecards force someone wanting to change your notecard to at least create a new one with their own name in it.

From: Rhaorth Antonelli very strange, seems that my post never happened anywho I was saying that I recently started offering the copy/mod permissions and then someone comes along wanting it as transfer you can not please everyone so... I am totally open to changing any permissions that someone may want on a piece of clothing or the entire set, I am also available to model anything anyone wants to see live in world See Lil's post, some places are offering NC/T and C/NT options as alternatives. So you can please them all it seems lol

just saw that post and going to contact the owner of the store, now that is something I would do, no added prims, but definatly added incentive (that is, IF it will work with the giftcard scripts already in the prims) so... if it won't work with those scripts, then nope, can not please everyone (and I have a feeling it will not work with those scripts, but.. no harm in checking... (logging in shortly to go check it out)

From: Gabriele Graves See Lil's post, some places are offering NC/T and C/NT options as alternatives. So you can please them all it seems lol actually everyone could offer both those options, but it would double the prim count used hehe when I said can not please everyone, it was more of a "no matter what options we put, someone will want something else"

The shops that offer both for clothing are likely to be the places where I go in the future as I prefer Transfer and there are very few Transfer clothing places left.
