There is also, LOT, KCG, EFM, AIC, MPR(GCS, VME)... I'd imagine LOT is pretty much fully liquidated by now. haha this is getting pretty funny. What percentage do you think might that be that is fully liquidated ? _____________________

Even perpetual bonds MUST have a face value, for this one reason (emphasis mine): You just attempted to make a strawman argument out of this, but it doesn't work that way. That is why they are called "perpetual," and that is the difference. |

Is he? With an Alt? I must have missed this information being presented. I looked quickly last night for any ginko activity and there is one avatar buying them up and its consistently the same one (not many at a time but they may not be being sold any faster by people). I couldn't figure out who would buy them though... _____________________

You just attempted to make a strawman argument out of this, but it doesn't work that way. That is why they are called "perpetual," and that is the difference. Wow.. your only response is to call a complete and total refutation of your entire argument a "strawman". There is no difference. A Perpetual Bond is STILL an effin' BOND. It doesn't enter your twisted and strange universe just because of the word "perpetual". I hate to tell ya this, but it DOES work that way. The FACTS are all present and accounted for, and you're not with them. What does that make you, again? Oh yeah... WRONG!!! Thank you for playing, though. ![]() |

Oh, for pete's sake, who gives a toss what ginko bonds are worth? Give it up people, pleeeeaaaaase. haha i think at this point chas no one is actually seriously discussing this. There is on poster who shall remain nameless that has generated the bulk of responses in this thread and the previous thread who is just playing around. The rest of us one by one get sucked into the vortex of insanity and then spit out at the other end. At this point I think there are zero posters in this thread actually doing anything other then posting jokes or inuendos for the hell of it to see what will happen next. Its kinda like a science lab experiment (think of it that way..) _____________________

The thread did actually get back on topic and it's somewhat fascinating to see how the trading price corresponds to the known assets.

The FACTS are all present and accounted for, and you're not with them. What does that make you, again? Oh yeah... WRONG!!! Thank you for playing, though. ![]() This is next statement is the closest you will get to a face value on a pertual bond, BUT remember that NP fixed the yields to 1 cent a month instead of the equation below: " Investopedia Says: Since perpetual bond payments are similar to stock dividend payments - as they both offer some sort of return for an indefinite period of time - it is logical that they would be priced the same way. The price of a perpetual bond is therefore the fixed interest payment, or coupon amount, divided by some constant discount rate, which represents the speed at which money loses value over time (partly because of inflation). The discount rate denominator reduces the real value of the nominally fixed coupon amounts over time, eventually making this value equal zero. As such, perpetual bonds, even though they pay interest forever, can be assigned a finite value, which in turn represents their price. " Since there is no calculation for a discount rate, there is no face value as you say. There are just the market values and yields. If the market value ever hits L$1 and he buys them, that is essentially saying it had a face value AT THAT TIME, but that time is not now and expected to happen in ""pure"" time. Until you can give me an exact date of what that is for Ginko's ""Pure"" Bullshit... NEXT.... |

It has hit 1 cent, so one could say it is up from 99% loss. Thats why you would use a data trend rather than just a couple data points. Put Adz's post into excel and make a graph if its hard to visualize it in your head. |
