from what i hear via via and experienced myself, many people in SL are somewhere between 40 and 55 years old.

So don't be too surprised if it also happen to be the majority of the userbase. ;)

I don't care, many of my sl friends i had/have... are around 50 years in rl..
to me:
it's not the physical age, but the mental age, that counts for real, in communication aspects (and that's what sl is mainly about: communication)

i'm btw 32 years old. (green leave, or brown leave, it all depends onto which angle you look at the age)

well no, since people are free to disclose this info on their behalf, knowing that a forum is read by others, then the OP alone.

I am 25, 26 next month, most of my sl friends vary in age, from a 19 year old to a 55 year old and they are all great people. Most of my friends are in the 30-35 bracket though it seems

I just realized that for most of the people on my SL friends list, I don't even know how old they are. I never ask. I can guess based on the conversations and experienes they've mentioned, but that's about it.

54 and 7/12ths...

and it's JUST possible I might be able to take a retirement in June, since I started as a boy clerk at the grand age of 16 9/12ths....

Have you noticed how time seems to pass quicker the older you get? Einstein never addressed THAT one!

Yep - I have not a clue how old most of my Friends are either. I know a few, only because it came about in natural conversation, but the vast majority I can only guess at.

My husband turns 50 in June and I have been teasing him because he has been getting the AARP stuff for about a year now.

I'm reading posts and seeing ages but not connecting them to names.

Besides, at my advanced age memory is touch and go anyway.

So your secrets are all safe with me.

I have no clue why some folks find it so hard to say their age

it is only a number, no big deal

as I already said I am 44

do I act 44? I dunno, how is someone who is 44 supposed to act?

do I look 44? Again, I dunno, how is someone who is 44 supposed to look?

*shrug*

still me, the same person I have been for 44 years, no big deal

I like being the age I am and am happy every year to be able to celebrate another year on this planet...

to me age is not a bad thing, it is a set of milestones, to show how long we have survived on this hell we call earth

The eldest person I have spoken with on SL said he was 75 and a retired psychologist.

Similar. I was involved with someone here, who was 72. I had no problem at all with him being this age. Another person that I was not involved with, just a friend, had admitted he was even older than that but never told me the exact number.

I know how old most of my female friends here are, more or less. Most, are my age, a bit younger or a bit older. The poll seems to reflect what my personal experience has already shown me. Certainly, a lot of late 40's/early 50's.

It's kind of cute that every couple of years this exact poll will crop up on the forums. The people who've been around SL for a few years and already know it skews 30's & 40's will not give a flying fig about posting their age. The newer people all think SL skews early 20's and don't want to reveal their age because they assume they will be *gasp* thought of as old.

They are always so surprised ;)
