You really have no idea, do you? Pedophilia: adult plus child. Not child plus child. So the actual problem is the adult avatar in the picture.

And - also something people like Lia(r)s and you don't seem to be able to understand: Pedophiles are adults that are interested in children. Not in other adults who *play* children. So you can find them at places like myspace, facebook and so on - where there *real* possible victims can be found. Not in a place like SL, where at least the very majority of people they encounter are RL adults - and the few minors who made it on the grid in violation of the ToS will be found in any avatar shape, just not as child avatar.

This is getting so old. Uneducated people who are not even *interested* in getting educated getting all emotional "OMG SAVE THE KIDS!", not even realizing that in this crusade they weaken the fight on the real battlefronts, that they actually *hurt* the interests of *real* kids.

According to your logic, the SL role play experience is not immersive enough for a pedophile to be satisfied with it. But the role play experience with the use of avatars is immersive enough for role play furries, escorts, johns, Goreans and slaves. There is a film on virtual pedophilia in SL available on Youtube. That may help you see the faults in your theory.

You are also confusing two different issues. Virtual pedophilia in SL has nothing to do with pedophiles preying on real children on the Internet.

Is your point that you are trying to be rude? It is just better not to attack people that don't agree with you. And you, Lia(r)s, are a prime example for a liar, and you prove it again and again with doing the total no-no of editing quotes by other forum posters. Kat you have been posting in these child avatar threads for months. Now you claim you are completely confused about the issue. Perhaps going back and reading a few pages of the numerous posts you have made on this subject this year will assist you in comprehending what is being discussed.

A few points to mention, not to Lias et al but to those reading who might be fuzzy on this issue.

1. Linden Lab has already ruled on this and ruled wisely: Ban the behavior at issue, not everyone who looks a certain way.

2. Banning child avatars will not work, because those who are so inclined to virtual, sexual ageplay will simply shrink their avatar at a moment's notice and continue merrily on. "But that means they are going to (sexually) ageplay" one might say. In which case, the behavior is again what is at issue and the crucial element. So, one could simply ban the behavior. Oh wait, LL has already done that - see point # 1.

3. This is much less about the actual issue than the gathering of negative attention, and the venting of hate filled diatribes in what some feel is a safe way (they assume others will clamor to join them, like all hate groups assume.) But guess what. Discrimination and hate speech against accepted groups in SL is against the rules.

So who is the baddie, then?

Me being Furry,most sims actually have signs saying that furry avatars are not allowed and i know that one sim,i actually got shot at for being a furry.

I think that type of overt hate speech/actions - I can hear some laughing now, but that is exactly what it is - should not be allowed in this virtual world.

You won't find that on any of my land, btw. Anyone is welcome. It's behavior that is policed/actioned.

(BTW I was referring in my prior post to the forums. I don't know the fine line which is allowed within SL, since there seems to be more latitude on 'private land' to ban anyone.)

I haven't seen many non-Gorean sims banning furry avatars. What kind of sims are you going to?

To care for one properly, clean its cage often, give it wooden chew sticks often, buy specially made food for it. Make sure it always has fresh water. They are rather docile creatures overall. Hamsters/gerbils are a bit more nervous, I think.

I think guinea pigs have a tendency to catch cold, too, and pet shops sell these tiny blankets for them. Not kidding. Lol.

Yep I know but never fancied one myself when I was younger, many moons ago I used to show them and won some prizes with them I think they make great pets though because they are so placid

Yes, a cousin had one. I had a gerbil as a child myself. I'm apparently allergic to guinea pigs.

Otherwise I might have a guinea pig now...cleaning the cage is pretty gross, though.
