Stable software without all the untested bells and whistles they've been adding for years while ignoring three year old bugs.

My impossible wish is, a way to edit prims on somebody else so I can stop looking at people who don't care what they look like. Floating necklace disease. Hair though the head virus. Etc etc. Uh, I don't have anything else I want that I can think of at the moment. o_o; Move along.

From: Argent Stonecutter The beacon should point you towards their store, unless they just put a LM to the mall in the product. Of course people often disregard the beacons, and this is why I don't give out landmarks to my stores in malls, or include them in my picks. Landlords, mall owners... this kind of thing isn't really all that clever, and it's counterproductive. Yeah, *usually* there is a beacon that will help me, but every now and then you get a store owner that apparently is not thinking and they just use a generic mall/area LM.

From: Czari Zenovka On the product photo/lm issue: Being an inveterate organization/keep inventory low freak, I put one card in my product boxes. That contains my thank you for purchasing, any special instructions that may be needed, an invitation to join my group, then the lm to my shop with typed info underneath like: <landmark inserted> *Czari`s Attic* Satellite shop I have one card as a template with all this info, and then just change what is needed (product name, add any instructions, etc.) as needed, so it's easy to keep track of. Since most of my products are on display to be viewed and touched prior to purchase, haven't put photos in, but now that I read this thread, I will start for my non-touchable items, like jewelry. At any rate, I don't want to see a lot of things to delete when I purchase something, so, for me, having all the info necessary on one card works. If it is just a photo of the product, full perm on the picture should be okay and then you can just drag it into the notecard also (though this does remind me to at least open and check notecards before I automatically delete them). For me, the picture is to remind me of what the item looks like - useful when you have hundreds/thousands of dresses and tons of each type of jewelry.

From: Rhaorth Antonelli .... Speaking of photos.... is there a way to make it so when you upload textures, they are automatically full permission? I hate having to go in and set textures to full permission manually, pain in the ass when there are a lot of them I really really wish this was an option we could set.

From: Brann Georgia Prims that fit - I've got a huge number of outfits in my inventory that are utter prim disasters in spite of what the cleverly angled and photoshopped ad image displayed. Having prims that are actually of the same colour as the rest of the outfit is nice. I wear a lot of black not because I lack imagination, but because mismatched colour is less noticeable Color mismatch is often due to Windlight. The prim parts display differently than the system parts even when both use the exact same texture. Since the prims usually look brighter, I often mix a little gray into them. You get a better match under MOST lighting conditions. Also, most of my prim stuff is mod so you can do your own custom coloring or resizing.

From: Argent Stonecutter Actually, in Windlight there's usually less difference between prims and skin than there used to be. Perhaps with the lighting setup you are using. With the old lighting system, there were only 4 choices, and the buyer could just go through them to see which one the creator used to match the prims. There are now thousands of lighting settings one could be using, and the different settings do effect whether the prims match or not.

I usually grey down my textures on prims a little bit, or try to use a texture which matches but has more shading/detail than the system clothing parts. A lot of shading and highlight on a prim skirt and it will match the top in most lights most of the time.

From: Argent Stonecutter Actually, in Windlight there's usually less difference between prims and skin than there used to be. Hmmm. Not in my experience. Windlight (default) definitely emphasizes reds (sunsets) and prims are brighter than system clothes. I actually redid a fair number of outfits because of the effect.

From: Snickers Snook Hmmm. Not in my experience. Windlight (default) definitely emphasizes reds (sunsets) and prims are brighter than system clothes. First, sunsets are not red because of Windlight, but because of Windlight's settings, which makes a difference with 1.22 because you'll finally be able to save your settings in a file that will survive updates. Second, before Windlight, textures on prims and textures on clothes and tints on prims or clothes were all treated differently by light. For example, tints on prims got washed out much faster than textures on prims, but tints on the clothes layers stayed. In Windlight, both prims and clothes are "colorfast", and lighting is applied more evenly. Prims that previously had been textured to account for this don't look right... so there's a change, yes, but it really seems to be a change to reduce the difference between avatars and prims. I'm not sure I care for it, I preferred avatars being made of a more matte and toony "material" than prims, with less contrast. The defects in the avatar mesh didn't show up as much. Since then people have come up with hacks like facelights to try and make them look the same as before.

IIRC, it is twofold - Avatars are not as bright, and there is also less ambient light. Increasing the ambient light will eliminate the need for facelights.

On the LL side, I would love to be able to launch two inventories side by side. I'm the builder for a group of people and when we take down stuff, it takes forever to reorganize, especially on a laggy day (and the whole drag down a line of folders is pretty much dysfunctional compared to outside SL - one day it jumps, one day it drags and one day it does one or the other...).
In world, I really wish some of the avatar builders actually spent some time researching their subjects. There is more to werewolves, for instance, than feral and non-feral werewolves. I sort of like the (arbitrary) breakdown that Jim Butcher uses in the Dresden series, between Loup Garous, Lycans, shiftchangers, were beasts, etc. But it would be enough if some of the builders, whatever the subject, took time and at least looked at Wikipedia. I think a lot of people spend more time researching their SL first names than most av builders do researching werewolves/vampires/ghouls/fill in the blank.
OK, and I would really like a well down Sharps rifle and an authentic looking Bowie knife. Actually, I'd like them in RL too...

Given that werewolves, vampires, and ghouls are fictional... perhaps the creators have a different vision of what their imagined werewolf looks like than you do.
