Hey - that was a *serious* post!

Pep (Dammit, can't you work out when I am not being flippant by now?)
Of course I can, but most cannot and therefore it is better if they just scroll past your posts rather than try figure out if they should feel insulted or not.

Now be a good boy and go back to writing sarcasm so that people don't get confused about your intents.
:p

I admit that I was also shocked the first time I ever saw the 'fixed it for ya' thing, here on this forum. It was a long time ago, and I've become used to it now. But at the time, I was like but.......but........but...........I *SAW* IT!!!!! Since then I've become immune to it, realizing that when somebody 'fixed it' , obviously it wasn't that way to begin with. So I'm not offended by anyone 'fixing' my posts. I know what I wrote (and so does the person who 'fixed' it) and if need be can always pull the original out of the hat, no matter what the later quotes say. It's just not important enough for me to trip over.

I will never accept it which is why this will be the last thread I will ever start apart from where I have issues within SL like programming problems. I really don't spend much active time in SL anymore because of problems with lag. It's very difficult to build or test scripts when you only get 1.5 fps or less.

As for those here that try and disrupt what I have to say or present to help people, they will find out in the next few years what reality is whether they like to run away from it or not. They will also find out that SL will probably not survive it. If it does, I know why, but they won't believe it, they'll be too concerned about finding a supermarket that is still in business and still has food to sell. It will be too late to fix it then.

See Debra....there you go with Armageddon again. Would that be a popular topic in Utopia?

LMAO! Absolutely incredible. SL will fall. If it doesn't fall, you'll know why. That covers you both ways. Whatever happens, you were right lol. Absolutely incredible..

Well, Debra, that's your perogative.

Personally, I dislike it when people are as negative and critical as you have been in this thread, but I get over it. I even read many of Pep's posts, and notice that he's been less uncivil lately. There's always hope. :)

I have no idea what you're talking about regarding supermarkets or what it has to do with this thread. But that's not the first oblique reference that's gone over my head in these forums, and it won't be the last.

BTW, thanks; we've had fun with this, and there were a few posts early on that responded your question earnestly.

Serously, now...

Debra, you prattle on about people not knowing "what reality is". But you yourself have overlooked a basic fact of forum reality here.

You're a moderator on some forum that's tightly managed and works well. Fine. Wonderful. You've lucked into a rare gem.

Guess what? This is not that forum. We don't have moderators here. The last one (one, not four percent!) we had that was any good burned out a long time ago. The only moderation that occurs here is on two levels. One: self moderation. In general, we muddle along fairly well, but occasionally a really intense flamefest erupts. Then we go to Level Two: Enough people report the thread that a Linden moderator steps in and locks it down or deletes it.

Yes. People here poke fun at people, when they say silly things. Sometimes people deliberately misquote them for the laughs it brings. It's not targeted at you specifically, and it isn't "ganging up" on you. If you read back in this very thread, you'll see Phil Deakins doing it to me.

So, you don't like this forum, and you think it should change. LL agreed with you. There are a whole set of shiny new forum/blog things that you can get to from the front page of the site. You can go there, or you can go away entirely and back to the forum you do enjoy. What you can NOT do is create change here. These forums are dinosaurs and they (and all of us regulars here) will soon be extinct. LL will not change or update these forums, no matter how much you or I might wish they would.

That's the reality.

It really doesn't bother me whether SL moderates this forum or not. You are welcome to what you have here, I am stepping out. And yes, most people have no idea what reality is. The really amusing part about it is that SL is an environment that mimics RL yet within SL it is easy to see how things are created for you. Yet when it is suggested that the same thing actually happens in RL, you are laughed at. It's your fantasy and you're welcome to it.

Hmmm... You don't suppose one or more agencies in the governmental alphabet soup might have implanted probes in your computer, do you? I hear the ones from the NSA usually manifest themselves in the form of abysmal graphics performance...

In just over three years, on December 21 (or maybe it's the 23rd), 2012, it won't matter anyway.

That whole issue of edits/quotes is probably examined in more detail on other forums. One I'm familiar with, for instance, prohibits all edits after an hour, so that someone can't come in and make it look as though all the people posting in response are poor readers or bad reasoners or whatnot.

(In this particular case I think you must have come in with an edit right after I quoted, because the quote you see in that post of mine is unedited--I didn't delete anything, and no sneakiness intended. Just an accident of timing. :) )

LOL, no, I did it deliberately to you, I was joking :)

It's actually suprising how many posts here are from non-active SL residents.

I seriously doubt SL's survival is dependant on what goes on in this forum or any other related forum, a large majority of the active population don't use them at all.

But as I've been ignored you won't read this :)

Why did you pull that out of the air and associate me with it. Did I mention the Mayan Calendar? Did you visit another pink elephant website like QuackWatch to think of something to accuse me of that I have never referred to.

Lets all watch Katheryne the quack skip her way back to QuackWatch.

That might have been my fault, for mentioning Armageddon. I just assumed that only Armageddon would shut down the supermarkets and SL. Pardon.

Wow - you sure do take a lot of things more personally than you should. Are you really that narcissistic? She was simply referencing a crack pot theory that the world will end on that date in response to your conspiracy type theory that some type of doomsday will hit soon.

Last year I had a very frustrating moment while at a workshop at Ohio University. They have an excellent build of their campus in SL, so I was trying to figure out how to get from one building to another, and realized that the only way I knew was to fly.

personally i think we all live in our own reality...at least i think we do. we all have different opinions, sources, beliefs, etc. and sharing those and hearing others has been my biggest joy in SL in the time ive been here. however, when anyone is just completely attacking large groups with a broad brush and taking pot shots, they open themselves up for any type of response to their attack including others attacking back in a similar manner. the best way ive seen to squash this is to not participate in it. anyone can post venom, anyone can argue, but when it really starts to bug you it is best to draw back and realize that this forum is NOT reality. your RL is....period.

the only other way to stop it is when i get out my garden hose and spray the dog fighting...heheheh
