Should forum members be allow to quote other members with words they never actually wrote in a post and then justify it by saying they also wrote "fixed it" below the quote?

Well crap, I didn't even fix her statement. I quoted it exactly as she stated it. Guess that doesn't work for her either.

Don't feel bad, my lizard wasn't even a lizard, it was a rabbit. I think it was just a matter of destiny :p

I disagree with Debra's opinions and I'm fairly snarky myself... but I'm thinking it might be good that people just kinda lay off tormenting her for a bit.

So she believes this stuff... hey, okay. Maybe a lot of us don't like her posting style... okay, whatever. Whatever damage there might be done spreading 'wrong ideas' is far less than the damage done, when one can only agree with the common wisdom.

It's time to let it all go; the only thing this is gonna earn anybody is hamfisted forum moderation.

Darn that Desmond! Hate it when people make sense..

/me agrees reluctantly, except for the hamfisted bit. Millie's pretty good, I think.

I wouldn't be such a nanny, other than lack of self moderation lost us our general discussion forums, biz forums, and a lot else I used to love here :(

PS /me has worked out why he is not on Debra's ignore list; she probably believes the 541T that the idiottes post in his name.

As long as it's made clear it's not an accurate quote, and the person quoted doesn't object.

Are you sure? The lizard may have drunk a rabbit's blood, thus allowing it to shape-shift between lizard and rabbit.

At least she spelled my name right :rolleyes:

Unfortunately she is easily confused. I never once used the quote function to change anything she said and then added 'fixed'.

I made references to lizards and David Icke. Thankfully, that was enough to get me on ignore, yay! Neener neerer, Veritable!

I didn't quote her either, I just made a " Greys" joke off your "lizard people" joke. But if she doesn't want to read my posts, it is her loss. I was going to start a whole thread on the best ways to keep the NSA from reading your thoughts. And another thread on the secret base the CIA has under Lichenstein. You know where they train the gerbils to carry the swine flu into crowded areas.

I never make any list these days. And I'm not joking. Even in sl. What did Laurin do? I know she has a thing about rabbis but she isnt that bad. Katheryne can be a bit stuck up. Brenda? I always think of her as a kindly auntie who borrows the neices for the weekend and takes them on crazy city tours and to dangerous restaurants. Chris is.. okay, ignore Chris.

This day is called the feast of Crispian:
He that outlives this day, and comes safe home,
Will stand a tip-toe when this day is named,
And rouse him at the name of Crispian.
He that shall live this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
And say 'To-morrow is Saint Crispian:'
Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars.
And say 'These wounds I had on Crispin's day.'
Old men forget: yet all shall be forgot,
But he'll remember with advantages
What feats he did that day: then shall our names,
Familiar in his mouth as household words
Harry the king, Bedford and Exeter,
Warwick and Talbot, Salisbury and Gloucester,
Be in their flowing cups freshly remember'd.
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remember'd;
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day!

How could I possibly disagree?

I had a sis in law like that, the kindly auntie that all the nieces, nephwes and cousins adored. She adored them too, never had kids of her own. But she owned a van, instead of the fast sports car she would have preferred, in order to lug the kids around with her. She taught several of them to drive, to cook, many things that they know how to do today, they know because of her. She passed away from brain cancer few years ago (she always knew she'd die young and that's why never had kids of her own) but she was the best auntie ever.
