Opinions on a Vampire Child AV

The RP vampires of any kind dont concern me.

Its the people who think they are RL vampires that I find odd.

Children shouldn't drink.

You should see how bad I get. There was one time when a week old noobie had put the effort in reading my profile. He noticed my "Basement" comment and started asking why I was locked in a basement. I slipped into RP and spent over an hour in open chat with him... In NCI... Getting IMs from the land officers left and right LOLing like crazy... I really wished I notecarded it, but I remember the pinnacle moment... It was something like this:::

Him: So, the door is locked? You can't get out?
Me: Noes, I'm completely shut in. But it's cool, I still have my internets. (^_^)
Him: Does anyone give you anything to eat?
Me: Sure... Once in a while they'll toss down some oatmeal or something. (^_^)
Him: Sometimes? Don't you get hungry?
Me: Yeah... It's been a while since I ate last. But I've found other things. (^_^)y
Him: Are you eating bugs?
Me: Noes! Eww... Actually... I've been considering my right foot. (^_^)
Him: You want to eat your feet? Isn't that going to hurt?
Me: I guess... For a while... But you gotta do what you gotta do. (^_^)y
Him: I really wish I could help you.
Me: Ooh... Can I eat your feet too? (^_^)

**^^** At this point... I got about 8 IMs at once... Mostly made up of "HAHAHAHAHA" and "LOLOLOL" and "EPIC LULZ"

Wow, I'm surprised I hadn't seen this thread until now. This subject interests me greatly. I'm not a vampire kid, but I am...rather dark. In a sense. Gabriele knows what I'm talking about.

Everybody knows that sexual ageplay is not allowed; but violence? That's a little vague. Especially because there's so many different kinds of violence. There's pillow fighting, and there's "Hostel"-esque torture-porn, and there's a WHOLE lot of in-between.

I'll point out that the policy Rha found does not disallow just kid avs, but EVERYONE from "depictions of extreme or graphic violence". But what does "extreme or graphic" mean? They obviously don't mean any violence of any sort. And SL has an integrated combat system, in which you lose "vitality points" or whatever from taking damage - so they probably don't mean that all depictions of person-on-person violence are verboten either. Where's the line drawn?

You may have seen my sailing Brigantine in some of my Snapzilla shots; I often just cruise with it, but that ship has working cannons and damage effects. I usually keep the cannons stowed, but last night a friend and I were having something of a battle; we were bombarding a, um, shore installation. They started to return fire - only with high-techy missiles rather than cannons. Needless to say, we were decidely owned. I got to finally see how good a scripting job the ship's creator did, as under the considerable and constant pounding our sails (really) got tattered and our ship eventually (really) burst into flames and sunk. It was totally awesome. I was also totally into the fighting, so I didn't take any photos - sorry. But anyway, the point of the story is: violence. It was much violence. Involving explosions and fire and projectiles and destruction. Would it be classified as the kind of "extreme or graphic violence" the policy was geared toward preventing? I don't know. I don't think so.

Sea-battles aside, the issue concerns me. I spend a good portion of my inworld time at a place that wasn't made with kids in mind. It's a very dark and creepy place, full of disturbing, but not exceptionally graphic, imagery. The place is run by my SL parents. Were LL to expand on or clarify the kids+violence policy in a conservative fashion, I might not be able to go there anymore.

I say, the issue of my being a kid av shouldn't really apply if I and another party mutually consent to a blasting match. In the case of a vampire kid, where the so-called "violence" isn't even really happening, but is just "associated" with the avatar choice, it shouldn't matter either.

I like that idea! I'd get my alt a child AV and join, maybe not as a vampire, but dark. Either way, I like it!

'People' spend too much time worried about what other 'people' think.. not me, I just worry if I'm not thinking.. it's a full time job, and I don't have time to think about what other 'people' are thinking about my thinking....or something like that

Doesn't that part apply only to PG land? Really... From what I see, that's a greatly unenforced rule. Check out my Snapzilla SL5B pics and you'll find some stuff from "The Darkness" art gallery including imagery of an impaled avatar with animated blood pouring into a stone pool. Crimson Shadow also comes to mind, with it's underground lakes of blood and satanic/goth imagery around. (^_^)y

I believe the "extreme or graphic violence" being referred to is more in lines with extreme examples of BDSM, Vore, and other things like this. Your folks' place, while definitely very creepy (RL me has read her fair share of Lovecraft), is not what I believe is being referenced here.

Might be good to take up with the GTeam, but I suspect they'd agree.

heheh...take a deep breath, go back and read my post. I'm sorry you read into that that I said ALL RP. i'm only suggesting, as many others here have, my opinion that most vamp RP here involves a seductive, sexual nature..whether in the beginning, middle, or end. Was curious what kind of RP scene would be acted out involving a child vamp avy?? (Let's leave Halloween out of it...thats different and was not part of the OP)

Since it was NCI, I'm sure someone pulled him aside and spelled it out to him. (^_^)y

I'll repeat that I find that to be a very crude point of view. Even though it is inline with the OP's statements. Seductive and/or erotic role play, often included aspects of Vampirism, does not have to be sexual in nature by default. (=_=)

I gave a couple examples of scenes involving a vampire kid at HardKnock Elementary in early 2007 in an earlier post on this thread: the photo I put in a different earlier post was from one of those moments.

I don't find Halloween different at all. Its still a kid dressed up as a vampire. In fact its an actual kid where the OP doesn't contain an actual kid at all.

As to what they would RP - didn't "Interview with a vampire" include a child vampire? Don't remember that movie being banned, at least not in the US.

Go back a few yourself and you will see a post made by me discribing just such an event... and I greatly condensed it for the Forums, the actual scene between the three of us went on for well over an hour... and no there was absolutly no suggestion of sex ..or even holding hands.

I agree...doesn't have to be. But I have yet to step into any vamp sim (or met ANY female vamp) and not been seduced...'snicker'...not complaining btw.

With that in mind, i wouldn't be comfortable seeing a child vamp strolling by....

but hey, its my opinion..kutos to those who can pull off good child vamp RP in a totally innocent, non seductive, non-sexual and childlike way...just wouldnt be my thing. No disrespect.

I was shopping once. I was at a public sandbox once making a box. Then there was that time at a helper island.... Hell, it's what got me involved in the vamp RP and learned that there are ACTUAL vamp sims!!!

By the way, have you been there lately? It's been completely redone. One friend of mine says it gave him bad dreams, hehehe. HeheheheHEEEhehehahaahahaahehehee.....

The wonderful thing about Second Life is that it is big and diverse enough that we can spend a lot of time doing "our thing" without having to worry about that which isn't "our thing."
