Opinions on a Vampire Child AV

When I read the book, my impression was that he was cared that the child was young and had nobody to care for her, that and he wanted to preserve the picture perfection of innocent that she was the image of. Not once did i get the feeling there was anything unnatural in the sexual sense from it.

Also Conan neatly sidestepped my question about vampire bats which feed almost exclusively on cattle. Are they having sex too?

To be honest, I haven't really formed an opinion on the child aspect specifically. I just thought Conan had a point about the overall general sexyness of vampires. I also agree that there is an element of the cautionary tale in Bram Stoker's book, but that's not the overriding theme. Infact, I'd say that Bram Stoker focusses quite strongly on a political commentary in his work: the blood-sucking aristocrat bleeding the working man dry and growing fat off his labor.

I don't actually much care for Rice, but I felt that she does over-emphasise the seductive glamor associated with her vampire characters.

I can certainly agree that there is sexiness portrayed in vampires, heck I do it myself as my usual av.
However that is just one choice and I am disputing that there has to be sexual connotations when portraying a vampire, specifically a child vampire.

Just to steer things back on the track I was aiming for...

Once when I used to roleplay in City of Lost Angels, long before all this child ageplay nonesense started, there was a small child av, a little girl who was almost completely white skinned and held a teddy bear, she was a vampire child, and was played quite innocent really. Her mother was a vampire and her father was human I think, so she was a born vampire. She portrayed the taking of blood just like having any other meal and her and I had a wonderful long chat with each other in character (and my character was not a vampire at that time).
Her portrayal of a sad and lonely child who could not have normal friends was heartbreakingly lovely.

Just...for those who cannot though...

Grendels has a goth child av among others. i suppose now goth's etc will be accused of sexual roleplay just because they make child av's? this vampire is all about sex crap is the biggest pile i've read here in a long time. i'm not into the vamp thing, but i have been around a few and never once has it been about sex in any capacity. y'all need new friends, or RL sex, or something. *shrugs*

I agree, otherwise you might as well say everything humans do is about sex because human beings have sex. Total rubbish.

There is even a legend about a vampire that always remains in its coffin in some eastern european country and constantly gnaws its hands and feet in overwhelming hunger. It does not have superpowers and cannot escape the due to the lid being nailed down and the 6 feet of earth on top. That is a jarringly realistic scenario and there is nothing remotely sexual about it.

What mainly made me wonder is that Imnotgoing seems to play a dark child and it got me thinking along the lines of a vampire child.

I think it depends on the "style" of vampire you play.

Bram Stoker's Dracula was /very/ erotic by the standards of the time, but is pretty tame now.

The Dresden Files have three types of vampires: the "White Court", which are sexual, the "Red Court", which are very creepy bloodthirsty bat-things, and the "Black Court", which are the more classic, rotting undead.

Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake novels have a couple child vamps, but they tend to be, uh, more than a little insane, quasi-adult minds in child bodies. who sublimate sexuality into outright sadism.

Claudia in the Anne Rice novels hated being a child, and had a relationship with Louis that occasionally had sensuous if not sexual overtones (if I remember correctly, since it's been a while since I read the book).

I wouldn't automatically assume that a child vamp av was sexual in nature, personally.

Would you consider it fine to play a child vampire in SL though?
Obviously it would be hard to mix with people who did not want to roleplay anything but a "normal" childhood and that would have to be respected but I could see dark communities of children being OK. Does anyone know of any?

My SL partner is a vampire boy.

Frankly, all child avs creep me out - the mesh is not built to support them, so I get wigged easily. But hey, knock yourself out, I think it'd be fine so long as you were careful about it.
