Well come on, cut me a little slack. It's not as if I'm saying I should have a right to go to orgy clubs without having to look at naked people. That would be silly.

But at a blues club? Or a garden/park/wilderness-type place? Or, as someone else mentioned, a non-sex-related store? These are the types of scenarios I'm talking about. When my so-called "right" to enjoy such an area clashes with someone else's "right" to let-it-all-hang-out, who's "right" wins - and, more importantly, WHY? As it stands, theirs (usually) does, because I (usually) leave. Such is my choice. But sometimes it doesn't feel like a choice. Sometimes it feels like it's what I'm expected to do, because of my attitude on the subject. I don't think that's 100% fair, is all I'm saying.

You are right you should be free of naked orgy situations at non-sexually themed places.

Any place that its questionable what they are (like a jazz club thats also a high class brothel) should warn customers ahead of time.

No right thinking person gets it all out in places where it would be frowned on RL.

I'd tend to agree, but that would necessarily mean there are a number of not-right-thinking people in SL.

I can't disagree with this.

Oryx - shame on you, stealing Raymond's gag. It's one of my all time favorites, but still...

Sweetie, I just use my chain saw, its much more garish. One felt swoop and all of the dead wood disappears. Yes I own one IRL and am very proficient with it. -turns it on, props it on her shoulder and has a look around with a sly evil grin on her face she looks around for nekky men-

I want your chainsaw.

Like Colette said above. Appropriate attire (or lack there of) with one's surroundings.

The problem with that is, who decides? Some people feel, as long as it's a mature area, whatever they do or do not wear is appropriate. Our favorite ray of sunshine thinks formal wear on Neko is inappropriate. I thought the fully clothed guy dragging his naked (except for a gag and a plethora of chains) subbie through Celestial Studios one night was fairly questionable, but they obviously didn't. And so on and so forth...

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Despite SL's emphasis on sex, I actually don't see very much of the sort of thing Booby and Dakota are complaining about.

Or maybe, their threshold for outrage is a lot lower than mine is. If that's the case, I suggest they work on their tolerance skills.

Meanwhile, for the exhibitionists out there who are setting the hair of the Boobys and the Dakotas of the world on fire...y'all could turn it down a notch, too. Your consideration-of-others skills could use some work.

(No, I didn't really run through the malls wearing just my stilettos yesterday. I was either a) chicken, b) prudish, or c) got goosebumps from the teleport whooshes and put on something warm. Take your pick.) :D

I hope you'll excuse me if I beg to differ - Nipple rings and stillettos sounds somewhat sexually provocative to me.

If a guy wanders around with his wanger waving he gets called a perv - but a girl out for a walk wearing nothing but pierced nipples and stillettos is just normal?

get real lol

no . . you get real. what a woman wears isnt a sign of her sexual arousal. it doesnt neccesarily means she wants it. no i dont agree with any of you insisting it means that.

no no no youre missing my point completely. and for the record i agree with Kira.

my point is, with women regardless of what they wear, you cant know if they are having one sexual thought in their heads. well unless they are dripping but im willing to bet the OP doesnt run into that everyday while shopping eh? on the other hand, sometimes literally, a naked male almost ALWAYS is wearing prim gentials that stand at attention. Thats sexual yes? so there is no double standard.

if i see a naked man and his genitals arent trying to poke someones eye out then im not offended by seeing that. why do people equate being naked with sex, regardless of apparel? i dont understand that.

It's not c) or b) because that skirt you showed up in at the hangout was...ummm...you know...WOW. Nice legs. No goosebumps. Not prudish.

The biggest skank I know is my sister in law.

She dresses in baggy jeans and big flannel shirts - In fact people often assume shes a lesbian due to that stereotype.

Not only is she a swinger with her husband and their friends-

but she is ALSO always carrying around behind her husband's back with prospective replacements.

Some little known secrets, I guess:
1) Shrinkage - water, cold air, etc.
2) A teenage male is almost constantly hard, regardless of what is on his mind
3) If you happen to notice a "tent" in a bed, and there is a male lying on his back, and it is morning - the man could be thinking about sex . . or fishing, just one of those things
4) You know those jokes about "they keep their minds down their" or "mind of its own" - it really does seem to have a mind of its own (one brain is thinking about the risk of the current economy falling into a recession, the other one is thinking about something of a sexual nature).
5) um . . . you are pretty and, is Eli Manning better than Peyton Manning? Both have won won a Super Bowl, back to back. Has that been done before? Bothers winning Super Bowls one year after another? Did that hot woman distract the Cowboy's Quarterback? Did that hot woman distract the Patriots QB? Is Tiger better or worse now that he has that hot wife.

Peyton is better
No (at least I really don't think so)
Yes - she also infuriated most of Dallas. Serves her right after that awful Dukes of Hazzard redux.
I don't know, she distracted me. Actually, I think knowing about all the hidden cameras in the stadium distracted him more...
Better - He's Tiger ffs.

Shouldn't he be used to hidden cameras, though? I mean he plays for the Patriots.

Oddly enough bikini clad women and shirtless men are pretty common in boat advertising hehe

I guess it boils down to personal preference just like eveything else. Appropriate is subjective I suppose. I have learned to deal with things that i find icky in SL the same way I do in RL - I think to myself, "Um.....ewwwww" and move away/turn my back/tp out, etc.

Oooo, but sometimes it just gets on my nerves! I have tp'd out of so many popular stores because I was just in a MOOD and fed up with seeing tiny tee shirts that can barely contain ginormous breast above bootie shorts that may as well be underwear on a "oiled" skin with 10 inch heels blinging to the max setting...you get the picture.

I mean, we're shopping for prefabs people!! What is the point?? I'm hardly a prude and on occasion that can be intriguing; like in a strip club. But at a fishing event or trivia or (here's the best one) an art opening at SL Louvre?

Come on now. (sorry, venting).

I'm just amazed how people import RL ethical and moral expectations into SL about how others dress but won't do the same for how they treat other people.

It's a CARTOON .....they're pixels.......BUT

The pixels are being controlled by REAL PEOPLE.

Some will laugh at people because their perceptions of what is tasteful is different.

Others will pass judgment on them for that taste..call them names..get upset..because they chose the "wrong" pixels. Which all of it is terribly subjective.

How in the world can one compare the rl louvre with a virtual louvre in SL. I suppose because furries aren't "real" they shouldnt have shown up to the louvre either?..wouldn't be appropriate?

I dont think ONCE i have ever looked at an avatars appearance in SL and thought "wow....how inappropriate".

On the other hand I can say that I have thought peoples actions were inappropriate. but thats subjective too. I can't really pass judgement because I don't know what they've been thru to lead them to those actions. so yea I guess i'm guilty too..on a parallell plateau.

I would be more than glad to let you borrow it honey. When I went into the store to buy the thing, the owner of the store asked me what I was going to cut with it. I looked at him with a wierd look in my eyes and said to him "trees". The guy standing next to him almost fell on the floor laughing. Five minutes later I walked out of the door with my pretty new chain saw slung over my shoulder.
