Have you considered that it just might be possible that other people have different views on what is attractive and that there is a reasonable degree of probability that their views are not so much "wrong" as they are "different". You seem to be so wrapped up in being judgmental and demeaning to others that you are missing out on experiencing the things that you might find beautiful and joyful in life. I'm not judging you, I'm just saying that if you concentrate on the things that make you happy and ignore the things that don't, you end up being much happier and stress free. That's just my opinion, but it has always worked for me.

Some people just like to decorate themselves, but pierced nipples and other intimate areas can also increase sensitivity.

Yeah, I think it's obvious that the OP was trolling - but, while we're on the topic, there can be a legitimate issue dug out from under all that muck.

OK, I'll admit I'm something of a prude - though I certainly wouldn't go as far as calling more sexually-liberated folks "whorish". But I do notice something of a double-standard. I'm not talking about naked males vs naked females - truth be told, I'm a newbie, and I haven't had a whole lot of experience with that issue. Rather, I'm talking about one I'm noticing in this thread - and that is the notion that, apparently, the whole sexual liberation viewpoint is to be encouraged and welcomed and tolerated, whereas people who don't personally embrace said viewpoint are not worthy of the same treatment.

Look, if you like to run around naked, that's awesome. Like I said, I'm not the kind of person who will complain - reason being, this is SL, and I understand that SL is a venue of self-expression and freedom to do and be something that one cannot or will not do or be in real life. That's totally cool. If a woman walks up to me wearing nothing but pumps and a smile, and I'm really not in the mood for that kind of atmosphere, I'll just TP somewhere else without so much as a single note of disapproval. SL is huge, there's plenty of places to go, so doing that doesn't really bother me.

What bothers me is, it seems that's what I'm expected to do. If someone choses to run around naked, it's seen as an issue of self-expression, and it is expected that he or she should be able to go anywhere they want without hassle or complaint. That's their personality, apparently, and we're supposed to respect that. That's not objectionable. What's objectionable is, if such is not MY personality, I'm expected to acquiesce or recognize that attitude as superior to mine, and in a situation where someone's "naked and free" personality and my "personally somewhat prudish" personality conflict, I'm the one who is supposed to alter his behavior to accomodate the other. Even if I was there first. If I ever DARE to express my viewpoint - even if I make it absolutely clear that I'm non-judgemental - I risk being accused of intolerance or rudeness. The implication is pretty clear - my attitude about this issue means there's "something wrong" with me. I'm sure most people don't really think that way, but that's what comes through.

My complaint here is probably academic, as I've developed a (thus far) foolproof way of keeping all the creepy naked people away. But, I just thought I'd throw the idea out there to see what happens.

Yes, you're right. And I guess, by implication, the OP was correct that the woman she met was being deliberately sexually provocative.

So, let's see what happened next. The OP was deliberately rude and insulting. A wrong response, IMO. The well-mannered avatar, when confronted by such a sight, should have either:

- ignored it, if she wasn't interested in what was on offer, or
- suggested politely that she found the lady attractive, and offered to take her someplace private where they could continue to get to know one another better.

I don't agree, Dakota. I think that what people are saying is that in SL, you should be able to be free to be who you want, and ithers shouldn't judge you. Because you choose to be "prudish", nobody has a right to judge you at all. You shouldn't be harassed for how you dress, and your point of view is valid and deserves as much respect as the others.

It's a big world. There's plenty of room for all points of views. Yours, mine, naked people's, etc. I also think that people should have some respect for the views of others and not run about naked in PG sims or places where it's inappropriate or where the landowner has requested that they not.

For those who use SL as a means to find a date or lover, then I guess how your avatar looks is probably important. What you choose to wear will give a bit of information about yourself to others who are also looking to hook up. Wear what you think will attract who you're hoping to attract.
For those who come here for fun, exploring, learning, etc - what others think of as sexy or acceptable isn't that important. Why in the world would it bother you what some random stranger thought about your avatar? Whore? OK, what ever.

Last night I had fun tweaking my av. She now looks like a cross between a borg and an elf. I've seen much better avs around (skin, shape, clothes) than mine, and I'm not too sure anyone would think of me as sexy, but I'm not 'looking' and I had great time.
