A public statement in a public meeting from an official rep of LL who I can't imagine didn't check in with someone on something along those lines. You might want to get a reality check yourself. Retail stores deal with this issue all the time. An employee fails to pull an ad sign down for instance. If the store doesnt honor it they end up having to deal with it on a legal basis. Waiting an eternity for legal to update tos. Well theycan just state that. hold on lets have legal look at it if they didnt already. Not sure what the LOL is all about. People tend to use that for some absurd reason like its a point unto itself.

For me I was considering getting a bit more land but since there consumer protection laws are jokingly attempted to be all written away I wouldn't.

Also people like you Tegg keep missing the point over and over and over and over. Fine if a few employees screwed up why doesnt the company own up to it and let those affected a full refund of sim, money and other purchases during that time. If they dont and if and when it goes to court I am positive lawyers will start tacking on things like people's time invested, equipment costs, based on what an official linden employee who is suppose to know what the rules are of whats legal and not in the game.

When one business incompetance hurts others clearly they can be held legally responsible and no amount of game rules can overpower the real laws and consumer rights. They had a huge amount of time to stop it before it started saying this won't work. But instead they let it go long enough to make money. If they had integrity just let people have the opportunity to get full refunds because of unarguable errors made by Linden Labs as a company. Let Linden Labs demonstrate that there was an error they had to alter the rules for unknown reason and they are willing to correct that mistake by giving people the option for a full refund with no fees applied for what they did. If they don't there is no doubht it will go to court. Simple matter of cause and effect.

A little character and integrity is that too much to ask for?

From: Tegg Bode
LOL! Can't handle reality? I'm not the one who takes a statement by one employee, as a public declariation that something is legal for eternity, still waiting to see that Blog declaration of legality on the games concerned with a date they are legal till, didn't think anyone could produce one...............

Oh forgot to respond on teh starbox thing. That has been there for a while now. It isnt a cash out system it is a point based card game I tried it and there is over all skill involved. Its not a match game or other cash out systems. Also the starbox isnt a blackjack game. And its a whole other argument if some games like poker and blackjack are skill based or not. There are websites, books and such devoted to the stratedgies of these games. But of course the brick and mortar casinos don't want online gambling so they managed to get it tacked on to a bill dealing with terrorism issues.

LL just took the sale ad down, people got their cheap items, the sale is over but some insist they can still buy items at the sale price or it's illegal to end the sale.................

And they want the store to pay for the new truck they purchased from their store that was meant to haul the loads of goods they were expecting to purchase in the future to sell at a profit to others.

LOL! Too bad the people investing thousands of dollars didn't check the legality properly then before spending, now they want an illegal practice extended or compensation for their own negligence.

Casino gaming is returning to SL using a 'loophole' according to this article. Supposedly, Lindens have been following or playing the games and haven't shut them down so far. Thoughts?

http://slnn.com/article/gambling-returns-to-sl/

yep, i have thoughts. now that slots and poker r illegal again, i wonder how ll can sustain the so-called skill games. they have nothing to do with skill as we all know. my 5year old loves zyngo and even wins a lot. she had some problems playing poker slots though.
i wonder if sl is becoming more and more a place for kids. oops, sorry cant be- all the sex stuff should take care of that. i am sick of being told what i can and what i cant do in sl.
make up ur mind folks, this sl is becoming a dictatorship.

Well they would have noticed they were illegal 6 months ago then wouldn't they? But they invested anyway, and now it's someone elses fault, perhaps they would be better blaming the US government?

Open for business and legal are two different concepts.

Just because you can buy crack on any street corner doesn't make it legal.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Yes Lindens didnt check things perhaps and their confirmation it was all perfectly legal coast people money. It's perfectly legal at one point no new laws or TOS comes into existance and then its not allowed. All at the expense of hundreds of customers. Yes go LOL at that. Its very open and shut neglegance. Linden Labs made a huge mistake. If you dont give a damn about people that lost money because of what Linden Labs openly approved then unapproved not sure what kind of person that makes you. But if you LOL at that I can't comment any further or it might be interpreted as a insult on your thought processes

I really hope your 5 year old isnt on SL for long and unmonitored. SL is not disney land and there is a reason why you have to be 18 and up here. If I had a kid I wouldnt leave them alone for a second on SL. Not even to go to the restroom. No nonononoo its not a place for kids hope nobody every thinks that. There is a teen grid out there that has more protection. The number one job in SL is still Escort. Porn and sex related items everywhere? OMG so not a place for kids or even teens. Which is why I get confused when people go about trying to apply misplaced moral issues to a game when there is so much more to worry about in SL let alond the RL. People are critical of a game to win money and there are bigger issues like money laundering, child porn and other serious issues. Well a compay misleading intentionally or unintensionally profitting off that going off their word. Not a single person has given a single reason why they should do the right thing and offer people full refunds for land and money purchases.

But some skill games sure have minimal skill. Some are very subtle I give you that. But you havent really seen allt he skill games out there or even a good portion. With my game shop can safely say I seen 95% of the skill games out there. There are a number of games which require brain power and thought and stratedgy. There are more games than all the Slingo copy cats. But your right its becoming a dictactorship I have heard that before. And thats dispite their advertisement "Your World your imagination" Having sat through a 3 month hearing on false advertisement claims which ended up settling for a company LL is just a mom and pop burger place by comparison there are a number of legit claims in that area as well.

I for one can't wait for the open sim movement to build up speed. That's really the only way to regain what was lost with SL over the last couple years.
