Twice he repeatedly called me "Pony""....which was later used on Phil too.

So its ok when your lap dog slings insults at others, but once it's given back to him.....you come running to his aid again. This is what i mean by dragging other people's issues up in your own messages and stirring the pot again. If Mort wants to respond he is quite capable himself....he doesn't need you fighting his causes.

None of this explains why the escalation to Second Life Personal Life information was necessary.

You could have thrown any number of personal attacks back at Mort but instead you felt it necessary to bring up his second life "kinks" and laugh about them to everyone.

Something quite beyond the pale - in fact no regular poster on these boards does that.

Please explain why you were justified bringing up and mocking fun of someone's "personal kinks" in this thread.

I'll take this opportunity to change subject for a time. The OP's question has been thrashed out and the thread has been through the same escalation of personal problems as the Traffic Bot thread. I don't think any of us can argue that a change of topic for a brief time is unwarranted or unwelcome.
That is one of the reasons my posting in this thread has been severely curtailed. I did a lot of soul searching in my own behaviour on that thread and have accepted responsibility for my actions, the actions that I (not others) felt were unworthy of the type of person I want to be. The fact that this thread has gone the same way and my participation has been almost none suggests to me that I am not the main protagonist of the Traffic Bot thread either which makes me feel a lot better about myself but does not alter that I said some very unpleasant things which I am going to try to avoid doing in the future.

That said here is a fun little game I made from observing some of the types of devices used for debating in this forum. It is not aimed at any one person nor is meant to be taken too seriously or personally (so don't take offense) but serves to highlight some of why I think debate end up the way they do on these threads.
Remember that if you do take it personally then it can only mean you know you are using these devices and perhaps you should reexamine how you debate. Also I am interested to see who will accumulate the most points

How to "Win The Forums" Game
=======================

Rules: When faced with a post that...

a) You do not agree with
b) Dislike for any reason at all
c) Proves in some normally irrefutable way that you were wrong.
d) All of the above

You have the following winning options available to chose from to respond with:

1) Find some mistake in the post that has little or no relevance to the point being put forward and attempt to focus the discussion on that instead, +2 points for redirection.

2) Tell them how stupid, silly and/or brainless their opinion is, maybe even tell them how stupid, silly and brainless they are - after all they must be stupid, silly and brainless right? +5 use often, use anywhere.

3) Tell someone they did not read what you put correctly and to go back and read it again until they agree with you. +2 but +5 if combined with 2). Repeat as often as is necessary.

4) Refute by saying times have changed and that you have moved with them and they have not. Only +1 but can be used often to good effect. Another good one to combine with 2) for a +5 bonus. +0 if used in close proximty to 5).

5) Refute by saying that you are only talking about now and the status quo and not future changes which are not relevant. Again only +1 but can be used often also. Same bonus applies for use of 2) but +0 if used in close proximty to 4).

6) Refute by saying that they changed the subject and or conversation direction and hope that goes undetected as irrelevant to the point they were making. +2.

7) Pick a previous poster's post, quote it to the person who's point you are responding to and say something like ambiguous and unrelated like "they didn't mean it that way" and hope in the resulting confusing the point you are responding to is forgotten. +10 confusion bonus.

Say you have some evidence that cannot be shown generally for privacy and non-disclosure reasons that refutes their point. +5 for boldness, +10 if you get away with it. Only +1 if over used.

9) Pick some aspect of the posters public personal details and deride, belittle, make neagtive judgements about it. Almost certain to take the thread in a different direction altogether. +15 for subverting the thread and creative dirty tactics.

10) Attempt to create a circular point which proves itself correct. +25 points every time successfully deployed.

NOTES:

* Add +5 for every other poster who posts in your defense/aid whilst employing these options.
* Add +10 for every poster tells everyone else how much you are picked on undeservedly whilst deploying the options.

IMPORTANT:

Never under any circumstances deploy option 11...

11) Admit to being wrong.

If invoked option 11 will cause a resetting of all points gained so far to ZERO.

Yeah he makes me miss the PN to be honest... they actually tried a lot harder than this one.
