If they see us as cattle, we shouldn't have much to worry about. Cattle don't have to work for anything or pay any bills, and their cubicles are much bigger than my current confines. Or we could set up an awesome resistance movement like in the 'V' movie and tv series.

You know what the whole spaceships/evil-people-plotting-our-demise thing reminds me of?
A fellow named Richard Shaver, who caused a bit of commotion in the '40s. He wrote to this pulp magazine about some odd things that had happened to him. It seems that (and please remember to take all of this with a grain of salt) at the car factory Shaver worked in, some accident of design caused a particular welding machine he used to allow him to read his coworkers' thoughts. Kind of in the same way some people claim their teeth fillings allow them to hear radio stations, I guess. Anyway, well he got used to this until one day, when he picked up something else - apparently some kind of horrific subterranean torture session. Over time, he learned about the existence of a race of things, called "Dero", that lived in caverns under the earth. These Dero were evil and sadistic, and used ray-devices to beam bad thoughts into peoples' heads, and subjected mankind to all kinds of misfortune. According to Shaver, every bad thing that happened to people, from slip-and-fall accidents to tornadoes, was caused by the Dero. Shaver at one point claimed to have been abducted by them, spending several years being tortured and mistreated before somehow escaping.
There were good guys, too, called Teros.
