Focus on feeling self-righteous. It's what gets me out of bed in the morning.

LOL! High-five!

My changes:
I use a vanilla bean in the whipping cream. Split the bean, ad to the cream and bring up to just a bare simmer. Remove from heat, scrape the bean, the regridgerate to chill cream (I do this the day before).

Also, instead of Brandy in the coffe mixture, you can use Khaluha (or any other coffee liquer) or Marsala wine. I have also used Godiva Chocolate liquer and it was tastey.

Enjoy :)

For a fancy dinner party dessert: Make it in a spring-form pan; line the circumference with vertical lady fingers. Before service, pop out of the spring-form, and sprinkle the top with shaved chocolate curls (preferably about 1" long). Wow your guests before taking it back into the kitchen and cutting into it.

[Edit: Oh Yosef already mentioned chocolate shavings. :o ]

Fried Fish:

and since we have the fish and cornbread here's a side of greens:

apologies for the pic sizes they really were teeny when i copied/linked /img'd them

of all of them, I think you're my favorite. Cornbread is one of those things that I absolutely love, but I don't really remember how much until I take a bite.

There's a soul food place in Tacoma, WA. They make these cornbread pancakes. Add fried catfish, candied yams and a jug of sweet tea and it's heaven on earth. I'm actually tearing up a little.

Amaranthim - I'd chase after you any time, but Yosef seems to have things well under control. Besides, I can't seem to ever catch you.

Thanks for the recipe, Yosef. I just killed some time fantasizing about actually going to all that trouble. I don't even like coffee but I remember that Olive Garden used to have a delicious chocolate tiramisu that I could probably figure out how to replicate by using your recipe and that Godiva liqueur you mentioned.

Chosen is a she???
Oh My... all this time I seriously thought Chosen was a he LOL

Sorry Chosen

I believe so. It came up a while back somehow, and I believe the verdict was Chosen is a she, and Chosen's profile pick helps to make me think that.

No idea on RL gender, and don't give a flying frig either

Can I derail this thread just for a few moments, then everyone can go back to whatever they were doing...

NIBIRU will be here in 4 years!

OK, you were saying?

"The ancient cuneiform texts - some of the earliest known writing, dating back some 6,000 years - told the story of a race of beings called the Anunnaki. The Anunnaki came to Earth from a planet in our solar system called Nibiru, according to the Sumerians via Sitchin. "

Any thing to do with the guy the Scientologists are expecting?

I like campy movies, too. Never saw Battlefield Earth, though. I also recently heard about Zardoz. I think I'm going to rent those two for fun this week-end.

OMG- I have seen that...

"Zardoz: The gun is good.
Exterminators: The gun is good.
Zardoz: The penis is evil. The penis shoots seeds, and makes new life, and poisons the earth with a plague of men, as once it was. But the gun shoots death, and purifies the earth of the filth of brutals. Go forth and kill! "

Zardoz? Is that the one where Sean Connery lets the viewer down, his fellow countrymen down, and most importantly himself down?

I can't bring myself to post a picture. Suffice to say, he rubbed himself in Baby Bio to sprout even more body hair, wears a ludicrous plaited wig, the campest moustache to ever grace the silver screen, thigh high boots and some extraordinary red cloth nappy/braces combination,

I'm sure he was laughing all the way to the bank, however.
