It was a translation / chinese whisper issue.
They wrote about beans from other plants.

In point of fact, that's not too far off from the way Sitchin works.

No. But, I will add that Sitchin is a complete nutcase, and the Sumerians never REALLY wrote about "beings" (I hate that word anyway) coming from other planets.

I've done quite a bit of reading on the Ancient Near East and must have missed that part, too.... :D

It's a mistranslation. They wrote about going to Planet Hollywood for lunch. It was translated as "beings from another planet are going to eat us for lunch".

All they wanted was an overpriced hamburger and maybe a t-shirt.

How many of us have Torley Linden as a contact on our Flickr page? I know I do. Perhaps we can arrange to have him pop in here and post one of his fabulous photos for us at the very least???

Reading the thread backwards....

I have! But HE friended ME first! I felt quite flattered really..... :)

/me waves back to Macphisto...hi!

Yes, yes, yes...bacon IS always a good idea. Morning, noon, and night...and all times in between; there is a bacon (or pork recipe) for any time of day. Hey...I bet we could make a cookbook entitled: Bacon: 24/7.

Well, well, well...look what I found! (oh geez, I hope this wasn't somewhere in pages 1-121 of this thread...)

Seduced by bacon?
Isn't that a furry title??

OK... now for a word from our sponsor, (the de-railer of the derailed thread, that was derailed 10 times removed):

'Say that ten times real fast!'

Nibiru, (also known as Eris thanks to NASA & JPL) is suspected (by nutcases) of being the home of a reptilian race, where their leader Anu or Lucifer (who see humans as cattle) dwell and plots our demise...They are traveling back and forth from Nibiru to the Earth using disk shaped (nutcase) crafts with magnetic/gravity drive: and they have bases underground and on our moon...And yes, I need to get my (nutcase) tin-foil hat adjusted.

All kidding aside, there IS a recently discovered planet-X, but according to NASA the path will not bring it anywhere near the earth. According to Sitchin (the nutcase) it will get dangerously close. Whose chart is the more accurate of the two? We will soon find out.

I want to invest $5000 in an infrared telescope and face it to the southern sky to plot its course.

Stay tuned...Oh wait...its turning...no...hmmm...

How about ropes, then?

Hmmmm... I have a nice little leash in my inventory, I'm sure it will be long enough. Oh and look! here are those fur-trimmed shackles. Not to worry, Yosef, I'm sure I can keep you well-entertained.

/me's eyes go wide and dreamy as she plots entertaining Yosef.

Zardoz? Is that the one where Sean Connery lets the viewer down, his fellow countrymen down, and most importantly himself down?

I can't bring myself to post a picture. Suffice to say, he rubbed himself in Baby Bio to sprout even more body hair, wears a ludicrous plaited wig, the campest moustache to ever grace the silver screen, thigh high boots and some extraordinary red cloth nappy/braces combination,

I'm sure he was laughing all the way to the bank, however.

You mean ...this?:
