Goodnight to the late nighters..

Goodmorning to the early crowd.

You mean ...this?:

Thanks Maggie. I thought my accurate description spared the denizens of this thread the full visual horror of Connery in that movie... but I'm sure there must be some pervert who finds this picture appealing

On this day in 1792, Highwayman Nicolas Jacques Pelletier became the first person under French law to be executed by guillotine.

Good lord, no. I think I am scarred for life. Or at least until my commute through Arlington's azalea alley, which will assure my eyes that there is still beauty in this world.

Skin Color?
04-25-2008 04:06
So.. I have gotten creative with skin color and avies and such lately and have noticed a "trend" among some friends - couple guys I know have voiced the opinion they don't care to dance with me when I am either inhuman or of a different color than acceptable for humans -

Since Super Thread here seems a nice little play ground for us and this isn't a question on how to anything in SL - how do you guys feel about it?

Here is my poll questions:

1) Do you wear any not-human color skin, i.e. green, blue red, etc?

2) Have you ever felt anyone has treated you differently because of wearing skin of such colors?

3) If someone you know won't associate with you when you are "colorful", do you change to accommodate their preferences?

Realizing of course that our skin colors are merely choices in SL- and obviously not looking to compare this with real discrimination issues in RL. Just thinking abut how RL attitudes reflect even in such non-standard SL modes.

None of the above actually applies to me, but people still interact with me when I'm wearing either my Marvin the Martian or Demon avs, and the only time I'm compliant about dress code is when I visit a friend who is a RP Gor, out of respect for him rather than the Gor society.

I have a friend that won't see me when I am the deamoness- I think it offends his Christian beliefs. Another who also doesn't like me like that says it's because dance venues are some how marred to him if I show up inhuman. But last night one friend greeted me in IM by asking if I was over my green disease and if so would I come dance? That inspired the question that I then posed to another friend at random and his opinion was it was pretty but he would not like to make love with odd colored avies (that wasn't part of an invite, btw- just as part of the answer - apparently dancing was not a problem to him).

1) yes! i have several different skin colors from pale to orange tabby(points to forum pic)but my main skin colors tend to be of the hispanic/black persuasion.

2) yes, my kids point and say moms going crazy again, halp! but depending on how i feel, and where im going i may change to accommodate the venue.

3) no. cause if they have that attitude, why hang around them?
