Yes, she did. I knew Argus was female, from her forum pic.

Seen the name in forum cartel group chat. Had not seen forum picture before.

wow.....

It is posts like those I have seen lately that makes me really really wish I was not the one that was the OP of this unintentionally long thread.

It could possibly be the reason I tend to get the occasional (not as often as it used to be) im's and pm's blaming me for the thread, and the hate within.

Sad indeed.... used to be fun to check into this thread from time to time, but... the latest spat of hatred and total lack of respect for fellow readers is too much

Hope everyone has had a wonderful time.

I know I said in the past I would not request to have this thread closed.... well lately, with all the hate brewing in here, I wish I did have the power to have this thread closed, and be damned with all the hate that would surely come my way, but we all know that my request would go unheeded.

Seriously people... step back and look at what you type before you hit enter... and remember, there are a lot of folks reading here... do you really want them to see those disgusting words of hate come from you? If you have issues with someone, ignore them, either use the tool provided or simply ignore then... do not reply, as that makes you no better than they are.

I am really really sad today, seeing what has happened to what was once a very fun, exciting, and interesting thread. I used to be proud that it was my thread that got picked to be "The Thread".

Why? Because he's your 'friend'

Go . . .

Aw. My heart bleeds. You are way too cool for me.

No, because there is a double standard, and there are hypocrites.

And essentially what Jerboa said. And what Rha said. And what Rioko has been saying for (at least weeks).

Duh.

7 photos down, 5 to go

Sorry, but this thread has been off track for a long time now. The best we can manage is to once more go back to pretending there's no problem... until the next explosion of frustration.

What fun. What a ideal to aspire to.

Hey...as long as pics of "the girls" keep coming....preferably with Ayumi's decolletage. ;)

That;s likely the automated system they have been using for group access. Contact either Dusty, Kitty Tandino, or Talia Tokugawa (the latter two might be the better bet) an let the know what happened.

Thanks Marianne, I knew you'd have some good suggestions! :)

No.

Count me out out of the mob mentality for agreeing with what Rhonda said for wishing ANYONE would be inflicted with such a horrible disease such as cancer. I've seen children literally green from their chemo and radiation treatments then later find out they have died from their grieving parents. While I've been lucky enough not to have anyone really close to me get cancer, it is not something I would wish upon my worst enemy. I am truly disgusted with the manner in which this thread has devolved.

Sorry, I said I wouldn't comment on this subject anymore

Yeah. Disgusted and upset to see a friend hurting. Amara loved her 'thread'. Hard for anyone to lose their 'safe place', or what they perceive to be that. But wouldn't wish that stuff on anyone, is over the top.

I think I'm older than you, and probably have a little more life experience. :p

People flip out sometimes and lose it and say things that are over the top. I can understand that. It happens to a lot of us. I have more respect for the person that flips out once in awhile and says something outrageous in a heated moment than I do for someone that picks and picks and picks every day in a cold calculated way.

Thank you so Marianne. I'm not able to pop in world until a few hours from now but here is where my build is supposed to be: secondlife://Burning%20Life-Opal/182/226/26

It was still there this morning when I had a friend go check and I've had nothing returned so am I hesitantly hopeful that it was just an admin error. I'll give them a bit more time before I start bugging other people as I'm sure Dusty is just swamped with a million complaints and requests. If you do happen to find anything out you can just PM or IM at your convenience. I really appreciate you going the extra mile for me .. I'll bring candy over if I'm able to access the sims again lol.

The Mother of The Thread has spoken!
All right, people, lighten up. We've had far too much hating and biting an' Bad Vibes here lately. Not to mention the Nostalgia and the Farewell Notes as Our Overlords prepare to close us down.

Forget all of that stuff. This place is for partying, and friendship, and goofiness. And the occasional sympathetic hug.

Let's go out the way we started, gang.

In fact, I'm inspired to write a Letter From the Lindens, in the spirit of one of our own, Trout Recreant...

Dear Forum Participants,

Hello, it's us. The Lindens. We know that you thought we never read these forums, but once in a while, one of us will look in for a minute, if we happen to be in the john and happen to have a laptop with us.

That's how it came to our attention that there's a thread in the forums that has nearly 100,000 posts in it, and over three quarters of a million views. At first, we didn't believe it, but we hired a consultant to study the matter, and after four months and the expenditure of about a quarter million dollars, they confirmed it: Someone is actually using part of Second Life to (and this is what we couldn't believe at first) actually talk to one another.

This is good. Except for one small detail: We didn't mean it to happen. That sort of goes against what M told us to do, make SL a more predictable experience.

So, as soon as we get back from our latest three hour lunch, we're going to have to close these forums down.

We believe that the whole thing was the scheme of one Resident, a Miss Rowrth Anti-Nelly. Our attorneys will be contacting her shortly. We're not sure if we want to buy her expertise, or slap an injunction on her for a TOS violation of some sort, but we'll probably make up our minds about that after we get back from playing with the code in the servers.

Our consultants also found out that approximately 2 to 5 per cent of this Thread is Adult Content. We were planning on archiving the forums, but of course, Adult Content can't be permitted here. When we applied our Search criteria to the Thread, about a third of the posts were flagged. We'll be deleting those.

We'll also have to delete any posts that contain links to sites that are not Linden Lab properties. You know, all those LOLcats, and YouTube links. And posts like those by Gig Chippaway, the ones that contain actual quotations from books and things that we didn't write.

At a guess, we'll be leaving about 600 posts or so to be archived for posterity. Congratulations on creating such a valuable resource. We'll be sure to leave a link to it, somewhere.

We did notice one frequent poster, a Serendippity Danielson, who embodies the thinking and approach we encourage here at the Lab. We'll be sending him a job offer as Moderator of our shiny new forums which are being inflicted on...oops, we mean offered to...the public even now.

Thank you for contributing to Second Life(tm). We appreciate your money.

Your Friends,
The Lindens

I have not posted in this thread and only a few times on the forums for months and months. What Laurin says here is quite true, it most definitely is not necessarily because of PEP. I for one rarely post because I don't care to receive snarky PM's telling me what I can and cannot do in the "Family's" thread. I have no idea who you are Kylie, nothing against you or your opinion, I am merely stating a fact.

No, I am not going to battle for Pep. He would probably slap me cross eyed if he thought I was. I have also been the recipient of his not so nice postings. By the way Pep, I don't think he has a clue what golf pants are.

Geez everyone. I am home, sick as I don't know what (hoping I don't have this H1N1 bug). I am really really cranky.

As much as I abhor snide nasty comments from any quarter...this has gone on way too long. And it's not healthy...for anyone....to read, write, or be affected by it.

Although I have no basis for this belief, I feel there is at least one SL forumite who wishes to destroy this thread.

Look at this Thread. Until.....well, I'd have to go back a ways a read, but for a long, long time, this Thread was a haven. Sort of like the office water cooler, or coffee break location. The back yard fence. Chatting...keeping each other up to day on SL (and sometimes RL) happenings. Asking questions..occasionally looking for answers. Making friends.

Many of my inworld friendships were made because of this Thread. The Forum Cartel group and Hangout were, and still are, a home away from home for me.

Many more than Amara have left this Thread, for the same reason, if not on account of the same person. And that saddens me.

We don't have the power to ban people from this thread or the Forums (WHY won't they give me these powerz???), but we do have the ability to...shun. It's worked effectively for eons, in many cultures.

This is not the same as being an ostrich with one's head in the sand. It's a choice one makes to not give nastiness an opportunity to invade and fester.

For goodness sake, JUST IGNORE.

Now...I'm going to go take my temperature again, and go back to bed. Please please please think carefully before you post.

If you are referring to Pep's claims that whenever someone quotes him or talks to him they receive a PM admonishment from the "nonexistent clique"... sorry, but to the best of my knowledge he's just making that up. It's propaganda.

If you aren't referring to that, then what the hell *are* you talking about?

Thank you Lindal, but some of us are just built that way. Many times I would read one of Pep's replies where he would state "wait for your pm telling you not to do this, by one of the ..." ... I would just shake my head and agree. Sad state of affairs.
