So, I found this lovely sim today, Welsh Lake, Between the Trees. It's part of the AM Radio offerings. I had taken a photo earlier logged in as my martian alt and came back again to do more with the windlight settings. While there, the creator happened to pop in, and we were chatting. He mentioned it's only going to be around until 11/7, quite sad as it's a stunning place. He also told me there were other levels which I had not known about. So, I TP'd to another one and that is where it got interesting. My martian, in all the time I've rezzed her, has never really had much interaction with humans. Don't know why, but, whatever. However, there was a couple up there who latched onto her immediately and began talking to me, wanting to inspect me, asking what planet I was from, etc. It was quite fun, and in the end they gave me two wonderful airships (flying saucers!) which I really needed, since I told them I'd lost mine in the crash which brought me to earth   thanks for the heads-up about welsh lake. will try to go (again) this week. and great pic. i can't wait to meet your martian. _____________________

Ya know, I had major surgery in the spring, along with a big health scare. After recovery, I was able to work for about five weeks before getting completely knocked off my feet with serious back problems. I’m running out of patience and supplemental health benefits. Today I am back at work and am going to try sitting upright for more than an hour at a time. People at work are supportive, my RL and SL friends have been super. I have plans to get back in shape with the help of a rehab specialist During my forced vacation I’ve learned that the world at work turns without me. I found that I can, after all, create stuff in Second Life, even it it’s all a bit noobish. My garden will get through the fall without me, too. I’ve had a long good mental rest. All in all, some benefits came out of all of this, along with the pain. The most significant thing I’ve learned is that there is no need, no point, and no benefit in getting excited over waste-of-space attention-whores like Pserendipity Daniels. Live your life, people, RL or SL.  Pep (I hope the rest enabled you to improve your English comprehension skills too.  )_____________________

I joined this thread to see what was happening in it and have enjoyed the posting in and to it because it is a "free form" stream-of-consciousness" Round Robin. I don't post to it much, but I do read it daily. Life is short, the Forum Days are numbered and whether this thread goes out with a Bang or a Whimper remains to be seen. Arrrgh I'm having a horrible SL week it seems and I'm about to whine so bear with me or keep on scrolling lol.
Some of you might know that I've been REALLY REALLY wanting a Burning Life parcel this year. The first day of the land grab I was able to grab a parcel but due to my own negligence and that of LL by mistakenly enabling the wrong sims , I claimed a parcel on a sim, along with a whole bunch of people, that wasn't really open for the land grab so it was reclaimed. Sucks but my fault for not paying attention to the sim I was on. A friend was kind enough to allow me to share her parcel but I continued trying to get my own even though I was having massive problems with my computer and staying logged in. We also had different visions of what we wanted so I didn't really want to cramp her style so I knew I wouldn't have much a presence on BL. Well after trying at every land grab, I finally claimed my very own parcel on the Burning Life Opal sim late Saturday. I built all day on Sunday and invited a few friends to come see my creations and met some really interesting strangers. Well I woke up really early this morning to find an offline email saying that I was ejected from the Burning Life Access group from a resident moderator. I have no clue why and never got a response from my IM asking for clarification. I'm not a rule breaking kinda guy and I didn't double dip on parcels so I'm frustrated and confused. I asked a friend to ensure my hard work on my parcel was still intact and it is, with my name remaining on the claimed parcel pole. I've sent a message to Dusty Linden and I'm hoping it was just done in error so keep your fingers crossed for me. To top it all off, the sims where I've been living on for almost two years that some of you saw in the home tour is likely going to be closed down in the next few weeks. Arrrrgh, when it rains it pours. I know there are way bigger problems on this big blue planet we share in both rl and sl but damn this is all so frustrating!! </whine> _____________________

Yours was probably a mistake too, especially since your land and builds are intact. OR, it's possible that everyone was ejected and a new group will be started. OR you could just try rejoining the group. Good luck! Thanks Treasure and everyone else for putting up with my whine. /me passes some cheese to go with it. Ya I'm not sure what is going on with it all. This is a special group that you need to be invited into so that you can access the Burning Life sims in order to build. You get auto-invited if you're the first the claim a plot. The BL Access group and the sims are closed to the general public until it opens for everyone in October. You're allowed to invite up to two friends using the claim pole as part of your building crew if you have officially won a plot and it seems my pals are still in the group but I was ejected lol. It appears I was manually ejected without explanation so the only thing I can think of is that maybe they think I have two plots which I know was an issue earlier on in the week with some people, but I only have one .. no double dipping with alts or any of that nonsense. I wish they at least gave some sort of explanation but I'll just try to be patient and wait for a response but I'M NOT GOOD WITH BEING PATIENT!!! _____________________

In fact, though he'll probably castigate me for saying this, I don't REALLY take his nasty turns seriously enough to be offended by them. Why is it that no one has mentioned that Amara is gone? She's not reading the thread (I asked her) and she's not coming back. (Funny I first wrote that as 'She's not reading the *threat*. That's what it feels like to her, here. ) It's not a haven for her anymore but a battle zone and she finally had enough. It got to be too much for her. And she's left the Cartel group inworld. She left the inworld group also? And, after seeing Argus post in this thread . . . I really need to pay more attention. I did not realize Argus was female. |
