I'm sorry...you were wearing boots? I was focused on the fishnets. ![]() I've loved fishnets since I"m a young girl ![]() Funny, I was telling Ghosty kind of recently, something about when I first went to see a Broadway show and was SO uncomfortable because of having to wear a garter belt with my fishnet stockings. I must have been, oh, I'll guess and say 10 or so. He was appalled and asked what on earth was I doing wearing a garter belt at that age? I'm like, well pantyhose wasn't invented yet (oh boy, dating myself lol), and nobody thought it odd at that time (late 60's) to have a pre-teen in a garter belt to dress up if she needed to be fancy for an evening - I mean, what else was going to hold up the stockings? He said he never remembered his sister wearing such things, and I had to remind him that most likely, that's because his sister didn't SHARE her undergarment life with him ![]() Do you remember wearing these? Surely it wasn't just me! _____________________

I don't think I ever wore fishnet stockings in high school but I sure remember garter belts. Not fondly either. Fishnets certainly were not for high school lol. And actually, the night of the Broadway show (which happened to be Fiddler On the Roof, with Zero Mostel, can you imagine?) - I remember wearing neon green ones. After all, it was around 1969 or so, and "acid" colors were in ![]() _____________________

Thanks to everybody who made kind comments here an inworld and sent PMs about my blog. Maybe I can come up with a different format, like only keep ten blog posts at a time or something like that... Thanks for the suggestion, Rhonda, about letters, and Kaimi for being willing to read... I have to think about it for a bit. 3Ring, I wish you all the best and lots of luck getting your life and your heart back. . thank you, Seven. i am well on my way. ![]() can't wait to find out how you handle your blog stuffs. in fact, i fully expect a book of memoirs, that never has to be published.... but i think you have the writing ability to pull that one off easily. best! ![]() _____________________

I know the feeling. I remember feeling tiny and worthless when I got out of a relationship that I had put a lot of myself into and gotten pretty much nothing from. Finally I was able to accept that that man was just never going to be any good for me. And then began the fairly long process of forgiving myself for being "so foolish". I worked for about a year on re-building myself. And at the end of that year I WAS STRONG. That was 35 or so years ago and I've been pretty happy with myself and my life ever since. Knowing you as I do, I'm sure you went into your marriage with your heart full of love. Even now I bet you will be able to keep your heart that way most of the time, without dwelling too much on the failings of others. You've learned a lot about yourself, other people and the world from all your experiences and will continue to analyze and realize. You are smart and open minded and that really helps. As for trust, even the most honorable, well meaning, and capable people cannot always be counted on to give you what you need. But you can get better and better at getting your own needs met and at living through it when they don't get met. I feel so much good energy coming from you when you post here, 3. I feel sure you will continue to bring life and love and fun to yourself and to the people around you. I'd like to hug you now. thank you, Kaimi. you are a special lady, and i adore you. this is gonna sound kind of contradictory, but i do have a few people i trust fully. fully. i am trying very hard to not put up any walls with these few, because if i start that again i'll just end up where i was. one of those people is Eli. i just wanted to make sure i said that out loud after saying i questioned everyone. so, not 'everyone'. but almost. that's a good start, yes? ![]() _____________________

QFT 3, you and I have shared quite a bit about this. I've told you about the situation I left. Just because one person did you wrong, never means everyone will. I'm a firm believer in not allowing yourself to give up on love but also a firm believer in taking responsibility for yourself and making sure that you keep yourself safe and secure. There is nothing wrong in admitting defeat when things go really wrong - in fact, to me it isn't defeat at all. It's self-preservation, and brave. I can't tell you how many people were proud of me for doing what I did, given the circumstances. They could not believe that I'd walk out of the marriage I was in because on the surface it seemed so perfect but when I'd relate the underbelly of the problem, everyone agreed leaving was the correct thing to to (even some members of his family at that point, the ones I confided in). Kaimi gives great advice about working on yourself and taking time to get to know yourself again. This does not mean you can't enjoy yourself, it just means find out what you need from life in order to make 3 happy with what she chooses for her future. As we get older, we find that we might need different things in order for us to find fulfillment and that means in relationships as well. When younger, we sometimes make sacrifices we didn't realize would impact us so dramatically later on, sacrifices which seemed to make sense at the time but in retrospect compromised our values. Learning from ones mistakes is empowerment to growth, and change. /me hugs you from afar and continues to be here for you, whenever you need me. you are so insightful. thank you for being so supportive. i have hung on your every word so far. and i thank you for helping me make sense of things. everything you said makes total sense. one of my motto's is to feel the fear and do it anyway. that is how i operate. so i, too, think i'll be fine. i have a lot of love coming my way and while i have found out who some of my friends aren't, i am also discovering which of my friends really are. i am a very lucky girl. and i will be great, because it's me and i always am. i see no other option. ![]() _____________________
