Brenda - those dead spots caused by the dog pee.

I'm rushing out or I'd find the correct post . . .

Get some of those Obama chia pets and put them there to hide the brown spots.

Actually, upon reflection, I'm going to have to admit that my culture HAS gotten pretty repressive in my lifetime. Folks used to be able to have a glass of wine with lunch. Folks used to not have to hang their heads in shame because they smoke. Folks used to be able to enjoy a steak without comments from others at the table about cholesterol. People now feel free to approach others and criticize their child-rearing methods in public. Judgmental indeed.

QFT. And it looks like it is only going to get worse.

Interesting... People seem to me to be less judgemental these days than they were when I was a child - about "the place" of members of certain ethnic groups, and of women. Also less judgemental about who and how it's ok to love and be friends with; how people decorate their homes; what they do in their leisure time; what they wear; what language they speak; how they cut their hair...

If they are less inclined to let other people abuse or neglect their own kids I consider that to be a good thing.

Although I don't eat meat myself, or use recreational drugs, or tobacco. I'm fine with other people doing it. But I am glad that society is more judgemental about people driving while intoxicated or inflicting their second hand smoke on their kids, or me.

We think the nanny state should provide us with what ever drugs we feel we need to have fun and get through the day.

Never happen. They don't want us to have fun. They'll give us just enough drugs so we are too lazy to throw them out.

Ha! My husband, a normally-otherwise-intelligent man, is a sucker for infomercials. Boy, most of that stuff, as I'm sure we all suspected, really IS crap!

The exception is that ShamWOW towel...I hate to admit we've got one, but the thing really does absorb as advertised! :o

employers snooping through your forum posts and being shocked at someone drinking alcohol... and people caring that they might... that sounds like a repressed society to me!

Sadly, yes- we are very pruddish here- SL is not typical of American culture- hence, the idiocy of the new Mature continent.

Hi! No, not repressed. Yes, a woman. My post was not about the drinking at all -- it was about the posting when drunk. 3Ring is cool with it the morning after, so...let the internet record remain! :)

I find it distasteful in the extreme that potential (and current) employers poke about the internet in an attempt to glean insight into an employee's character -- but, some do.

Holy cow! And my boss knows my online name-- eek- hope he isn't in SL....

Edit - the Amaranthim part- after 20 plus years some courts of law might even decide it's a legal name!

Not to Kipling though..
That was India and that was then. Rudyard is not a name I come across too often nowadays either, male or female.

Pep (And yes, me and my mates could probably give the ladies a game, despite being all over 50 - in a one dayer; we wouldn't last five days. :p )

PS We would have thrashed them when we were playing seriously, but then, we were rather good.

sif = lazy Australian for "as if"

Pep (They are working on their own language over there as well; Nina also used "rorting" which means cheating the system, which I don't think is found outside Oz)
