This pic just made me laugh out loud. My sister and her husband have a shar pei, named Boomer (I call him my nephew :p)

He is NOT a trustworthy dog whenever food is within reach. One time during an Oscars-watching party, we had some roast chicken out on a platter...just a teensy bit too close to the edge of the table.

Turned our backs...chicken gone. :( :p

He also managed to snag the dip for some crudite this past Thanksgiving. :D

If he wasn't so darn cute...

Second, my relationship with SL is souring overall. Their corporate decisions lately leave a lot to be desired and are turning my stomach. Something better change quickly, or my user hours are going to drop significantly.

Found out on the drive to work that Clear Channel laid off their most popular morning DJ in our market (and my favorite radio station) yesterday...wtf is the corporate thought behind that piece of non-brilliance?

I think I just want to go back to bed.
Clear Channel is the corporate monster that took over all of our locally owned radio stations so that it could dictate that weall listen to it's limited playlist. They are not our friends.

I think its the eyes...you can't be mad with them long while they're looking at you with such a beautiful face lol.

Yes, I liked how the two entities operated in different fashions...I am bothered by the monopolistic feel to these mergers. :(

I had to use vacation time on Tuesday. "Allowed" to take the day off because of the long delays expected in trying to get to and from work. I might be home today otherwise.

Commercial radio is teh suck nowadays. I'm not paying for satellite that's for sure. I'm in the car a lot, I never listen to music stations any more. It's either talk stations, or *gasp* NPR, or I'm listening to audio books or music cd's. Clear Channel and Westwood One can bite me. I can't stand their bland cookie cutter playlists.

I really should just call lunch up, but I really need some fresh air. We have a parapet I could stand out on but that means pacing back and forth infront of my boss for a few moments since his desk faces the "porch" (our cute name for it). We do have a lovely view of the Empire State Building at least. Nice in the warmer months and the parapet is wide enough to put chairs on.

Well, so much for that idea, Out into the cold world I venture :(

NPR and cd's for me in the car. I do think audio books are a good idea. Wait we've had this conversation before, haven't we? And I just remembered that my husband and I did listen to an audio book on our way home from Las Vegas once.

re: audio stuff coming from car magically: in car tend to not have radio on. Sometimes forget have radio/cd/etc. I like quiet.

:D We used to go up there when two of my step-daughters lived there. The most we ever gambled was one small coin my husband would put into a slot machine. It was surprising how often we left with a tiny profit. Actually I know that you are too sensible to wager more than you want to spend on that kind of entertainment.

These generic graphics are sometimes referred to as spaceballs.

(but lol, I thought of the movie,too. :p)
