From: Rob Howlett Hi Claire (and Maureen, Jerboa, Elora, Suzanne, Kaimi and everyone else) Today is not a depressing day for me. I'm home from the hospital (emergency gall bladder surgery last week) and I'm feeling better again. Rob, so glad you're on the mend!! Gall bladder surgery can be quite routine...and then sometimes it's not (mine wasn't either). How wonderful that your folks were nearby and that they could keep a careful eye on you the first few days you were out of the hospital. (I'll bet you were glad to see your own bed, though. )

nice choice...perfect balance. /me plays it again Random factoid: Though the original vid was filmed in colour, she didn't like the look of the red jacket, so made them change it to black and white

Nice to see you again, Rob. No spicy food for a while - oh, you poor man. My heart doth truly bleed for thee (or is it thou)

Popped up my email for a minute, went back to SL and my skin had managed to pick up the textures from some of my HUDs and who knows what else: Rebake put me back to normal:

From: Kaimi Kyomoon Good morning everyone. Elora and Marianne, I love all those pictures. Thanks. Claire congratulations on the exam results and other good Monday stuff. Is the snow gone yet? Hi Nika! The view from my bed when I woke up this am (well I went over to the window to take the picture): that is amazing! it almost seems apocalyptic.

okay, i made a drastic change at Wren Mall today. was hoping y'all would give me some honest feedback.... not just the pat-on-the-back type, although that is always welcome. seriously, if it's too wacky, let me know so i can tone it down before i lose renters. LOL thanks.

From: Claire Silverspar The snow's stopped and already melted now it's just cold and looks like it's been raining. Piccie from my window...it's a bit fuzzy, cause it's through a window taken on my phone, wish I could get a decent clear piccie, I love the view at night. I need to find my decent camera in the boxes and take a better pic. The tallest building you see, right at the back with the red lights....that's the Hilton Hotel. i SO love these RL pics. and you are right, it IS beautiful at night.

From: Claire Silverspar It's not really a park...though there is a square of mud that used to be a park on the opposite side to the piccie... That green stuff is around the railway line.... just behind the trees on the far side of the grass is a road leading down to parking for the railway station, and on the otherside of the green is the actual rail tracks. If you look on the left side there are some steps leading down to a path under the bridge toward the station itself....I think, never been down there lol. it's still very pretty. does it stay green year 'round? over here, the grounds are green and lush right now - but the trees are brown and leafless. in summer, the grounds are all brown and dead looking, but the trees are green and lush. both ways are pretty, but i much prefer the full, healthy looking trees.

From: Claire Silverspar Love your sig Rob...one of my favourites. Was My great Gran's favourite prayer, and I got given a cushion which she had sewn the words into when she passed. Thankyou for reminding me about it, brought back some fabulous memories of her you've just reminded me of my own GIL (gram in law) who was sweet and loving and generous. i miss her. i didn't get anything from her stuffs that "she" loved or considered valuable, because all the greedy blood relatives stripped her room dry. but she did have this insignificant abalone box she bought on her first trip to Hawaii a-million years ago, and inside it had a pair of turquoise earrings that were shaped like pineapples- i remember her wearing them once, and her saying that when she wore them it brought back fond memories of her trip there - so i retreived that from the garbage can (can you believe that ) and cherish the box/earrings as if i myself had experienced those very memories with her. she had promised me a little, insignificant porcelain figure of a girl that she cherished, but one of the granddaughters took it for her own daughter, and it was broken within a few days (i heard). people can be so disrespectful and unthinking sometimes.

From: Rob Howlett That prayer has helped me a lot over the last few months. I've been dealing with midlife issues lately and there are a lot of things in my life I'm not happy about (my job being the biggest one.) Instead of complaining about them and being miserable, I might as well accept these things and learn to deal with them. I've been doing that lately and I'm finding that a new attitude makes it a lot easier to deal with everything. *hugs*

From: Rob Howlett ATTITUDE by Charles Swindoll The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our attitudes. do you realize how profound this is? you know, quite a few years ago i adopted a new attitude, and new motto. every day that i wake up alive, i consider the rest to be gravy. so, my motto in life is "the rest is just gravy". i remind myself of that all the time. seriously. sounds like you got the bull by the nuts. i hope your job circumstances get better soon (and mine too). then we can both graduate to horns, and leave the nuts alone... where they belong. LOL

From: 3Ring Binder so, my motto in life is "the rest is just gravy". This is a motto that one of my favorite authors, Kurt Vonnegut Jr. could have made up. It's great. Attitude is everything.

It's just stuff. The love that you have in your heart for your GIL is worth so much more than anything the dry strippers ended up with. (Glad you got something to cherish though.)
