I think this is a great picture. It's not that easy to get a clear picture of a city after dark with most cameras. It looks like you live close to a park - that must be nice.

It's not really a park...though there is a square of mud that used to be a park on the opposite side to the piccie... That green stuff is around the railway line.... just behind the trees on the far side of the grass is a road leading down to parking for the railway station, and on the otherside of the green is the actual rail tracks. If you look on the left side there are some steps leading down to a path under the bridge toward the station itself....I think, never been down there lol.

Oh. Well that's a bit disappointing. But at least the grass and trees look very nice from your window. Plus the bright lights and excitement of the big city it's a great view.

Glad to hear you're ok Rob. I had the same thing happen to me a few years ago. Didn't even know I had gallstones; was a brie sandwich that did me in lol. Suddenly found myself on the other side of the knife within a few days of being diagnosed

You'll be fine although you may have to say a found farewell to some favorite foods for a while :(

Love your sig Rob...one of my favourites. Was My great Gran's favourite prayer, and I got given a cushion which she had sewn the words into when she passed.
Thankyou for reminding me about it, brought back some fabulous memories of her :)

I think it was habanero salsa that triggered mine. :D

I didn't even have a few days. I was in such bad shape that they had to operate immediately. Then there were complications that kept me in the hospital for almost a week. After that I stayed with my parents for a couple of days. I finally came home Saturday night and I've been feeling better every day.

Hopefully just for a while and not permanently. I've heard it will probably take about three months for my body to adjust. I guess I won't be eating jalapeños or curry anytime soon...

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

That prayer has helped me a lot over the last few months. I've been dealing with midlife issues lately and there are a lot of things in my life I'm not happy about (my job being the biggest one.) Instead of complaining about them and being miserable, I might as well accept these things and learn to deal with them. I've been doing that lately and I'm finding that a new attitude makes it a lot easier to deal with everything.

ATTITUDE
by Charles Swindoll

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.

Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home.

The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.

And so it is with you... we are in charge of our attitudes.

Lets start a list of things that should be used for something other than the intended purpose... even if they kinda work

Convenience store toilet paper (the kind you wind up buying at 1030 because you forgot to get more with groceries): better used as industrial grade sandpaper, it works but ya lose five layers of skin per wipe...

Instant grits: better used as.... well anything but grits.

Sugar Free Sugar Wafers: as building material... I mean just think, what are they made of!
