I do not normally camp - figure it is a waste of my time - HOWEVER, at this animation store, you can get these darling little pose mushrooms with changable texture for only 5 minutes of camping. Hell, it takes me longer than that sometimes for an entire store to rezz or for me to look at everything to decide if I want to buy any of it.
![]() And while there are only a few poses to buy in this new shop, they are cute cuddle poses and only L$20 each. http://slurl.com/secondlife/realize/74/116/23 _____________________

G'mornin, thread!
So, ya, about this weekend. Bumpy ride, huh? I guess I should go allll the way back to Thursday night, with Jopsy Pendragon's 5th resday party. What a crowd! It was one of those "I know all these names!" events. Amongst those attending: Osprey Therian, Lumiere Noir, Tuna Oddfellow, Bettina Tizzy, Khamon Fate, Phil Metalhead, Bob Bunderfield, Photon Pink, Kriss Lehmann, and of course, Jopsy Pendragon, amongst many others. ![]() On Friday, as well as time at school to help with the car wash, I also got to go out on the SLRR mainline again an help test the trains. It was a rough ride, with a system outage during part of the run. Little did I know this would set the tone for the rest of the weekend. One of my big projects, which did get done, was a visual resume of my work in Second Life. This platform contains examples of many of the projects I was involved in during 2008. It was fun to look back and realize just how many prims I've slung! ![]() The big project was the car wash at HardKnock Elementary. I was actually not feeling too good IRL during this, but forged ahead. Unfortunately, much of the car wash was happening during grid troubles, so... I don't have any photos -- but the good news? We raised over US$200.00 for the American Cancer Society, and nearly US$200 for the Make A Wish Foundation! That ain't bad with all the stale money an stuff! Much later that night, I also found myself inspired, and made a new item for my store. I'll keep the self promotion to the new products board, but here's a piccie ![]() And Sunday. Oh yes, SLunday. I actually ended u being on for much of the troubles, though I wasn't able to do much. At one point, I was stuck in the Kindly sim, where I spent an hour at the laundromat -- trying to actually get a piccie of me jes sitting there, waiting. It seems appropriate. ![]() An that's about it! More soon, I s'pect! _____________________

The performances, food, decorations, etc.. are privately financed. The security ends up costing the city and the federal government quite a bit. Yes, it will bring lots of visitor dollars into the city (which do result in various tax dollars going to the city), but if it is anything like the DNC here in Denver, it will still cost the government money that it does not really have to spend. Denver took a hard hit from the DNC even though a lot of companies did well from it. Due to that, I will not get a raise in 2009, will get to attend no training classes, and may have to take up to 2 weeks of unpaid time. When these types of things are truly 100% covered by the people hosting and attending, then I will stop bitching, but not until then. I think DC is more set up for this stuff. And they do it for the damnedest reasons. When I worked on 16th street - close to the edge of the lock down for spectator zone - we had things like this for much less apparent reason. Comes with the territory in a more or less literal sense. |

Good morning favored threadland!
I'll take a peek back to see what I missed in a few minutes. I just wanted to let y'all know I have 18 new inches of the white stuff outside this morning. Wheee! The roads weren't bad getting to work though. Maine DOT ftw. ![]() I see the topic has seeped in here...the next 48 hours are going to be quite interesting. @Mari - great pics as always! I love hearing about your weekends. Stuck at the laundromat...*chuckles* _____________________

Yay! The Mari Weekend Update, in my mailbox upon awakening.
![]() The rez day party looked great. Your "visual resume" is really cool; is that a "thing" we can look at somewhere? Hah! I chuckled when I got your notice last night about the leash for the invisible dog. A laundromat!!! Do socks get lost here, too? (great pic, though) Thanks again, Mari. |

Oh...and last night, went to Blue Fusion. Even with all of SL's issues, the live singers managed to get on, and still hold their show.
Erin and Satin: A husband/wive duo that were very good. They have wonderful voices. If you have a chance to catch one of their shows...I highly recommend it. ![]() _____________________

Hi threadies. ![]() Love pansies! They always look like little faces to me. I grew them at my old house. Great photo Damien, as usual. Morning Threaders, from overcast and damp NYC. Meh, who cares I'm indoors, for now at least. I don't have the luxury of having today as a holiday, my company is too small to celebrate MLK, unfortunately; however, I took tomorrow off to watch the inauguration. The heck with them ![]() _____________________

I am told it is brrr in SC:
"Today’s high is expected to hit 47 and with the low dropping to 27 overnight, said Doug Outlaw, meteorologist with the National Weather Service at Greenville Spartanburg Airport. The snow should begin some time after sunset tonight and continue through until tomorrow morning, he said. Up to 2 inches of the white stuff could accumulate by morning before the snow end, he said. Tuesday’s high is expected to be 33, he said." It's 74 here now but the weatherman said it would be very chilly mid-week ![]() _____________________
