I am absolutely horrid about birthdays. I have never considered birthdays a big deal - except for maybe a few milestone ages (21, 40, 50, etc...), so I piss people off that way a lot.

Oh well, they will eventually get over it or not and they are the ones that will maybe continue to seeth about it -- no skin off my back, cuz I ignore their ranting.

Yep, but I do almost all of it online these days. I absolutely hate being in stores this time of year - hell, I hate RL shopping under the best of conditions.

i am the same way. my very best friend is a fanatic about dates and ... oh ugh... reply cards and notes.

i can call her to just check on her, and 2 days later i'll get a thank you card in the mail. i mean, i talk to her every damm day. usually about 'something', but every conversation doesn't have to be about 'something', does it? can't it just be fluff and friendship?

i never ever send cards. she used to get so offended that i didn't reciprocate, but after all these years she's finally accepted that people do things differently. i'm much more of a hugger than a note writer. when i see her, i squeeze her hard. it also makes her girlfriend jealous, so that's a fun game too. >

I rarely forget anniversary and birthdays but i also have them programmed into my Outlook calendar so that i get a pop-up notification as the date nears.

My wife is much more likely to forget anniversary. Although one year we both did.
