We don't consider a problem solved unless it deals with all aspects of the problem, emotional and non-emotional -- whereas most men really just want to handle the non-emotional part.

I am not faulting any for that because I think it is mostly hard-wired in us. Neither approach is necessarily better, it is just what we want and need for ourselves to be satisfied with the solution.

Speaking of this - earlier this year I was reviewing the standards around flying the flag at half-staff and was actually chuckling at where our Congressmen were in the rankings of respect shown via flag lower.

No he never forgets- how could he when it is on the day before Pearl Harbor and he a military man? Nope- I have just found something else I will never live down. I don't remember birthdays either- if it is any consolation- I don't remember mine either so I don't really care- but to him it's a big deal - yes, I forgot his birthday this year too :(
