Milly. Didn't it occur to you to edit Porky's post and remove the image??? If you don't have the ability to do that, what's the point in you being here because you're not a moderator. If you do have that ability, you should quit - seriously - because you don't have a clue.

I can understand the lock of that thread since it was pointless, but the closing statement was a bit surprising. For her to publicly label a poster as the blame was wholly unprofessional.

Then what's the point of her being here? She isn't a moderator if she can't moderate. Can't she edit posts to remove the offensive bits, even if she can't delete the post itself?

I thought the locking of the thread (and the mod comment) was pretty ham-fisted. If it is within the resmod's power, the offending posts probably could have just been edited or deleted.

I will delete it if the others will delete all those sickening cat pics.

Yep. The offensive/ugly post is gone, as is Millie's locking post, and the thread is open again. At least someone has some sense. There have been too many threads (only a few, but still too many) where the so-called moderator has just locked them and left whatever it was that caused the lock in them, making the locking pointless.

Maybe it was my reference to a certain fast food outlet that caused the trouble!

He gave a lame just as gross explanation of the picture. The post was removed but someone had quoted it a couple of posts after and that one is still there.

Well- I don't know what limitations are placed on Mods- I was just mentioning what I was told. Anything further I will let Millie handle since that is the extent of my knowledge regarding this.

Frankly, no one dragged you in kicking and screaming to look at cats- you don't like them stay the hell out- it's not like the thread title was misleading.

Except that Porky has been in the Forums since 2004 and has over 1000 posts, so he isn't a random anonymous account -- he just lacks good sense.

As long as no real cats or kittens were harmed in the making of the picure you are forgiven.

Perhaps it would have been more appropriate (slightly!) to show a picture of a cat being sick because they do that quite a lot if they gulp in too much air with their food.

Not a lack of good sense. Just tired of the double standards in this forum by the Mods. Tired of the hundreds of cat images that have been posted in the last few months. Either poeple abide by the rules or they dont. Either the mods enforce the rules or they dont. I broke the rules by posting an indecent picture. Yet the rules had already been broken by 3ring by starting the pointless thread, and all the kitty lovers that decided we needed to see yet more (non SL related) cat pics. Everyone who posted in that thread is no better than me.
