I know better No more dancing!
For these moments, go to Sine Wave or 3FX and buy a dance that you like. Don't put it in your HUD, and you can play it direct out of inventory, just double click and hit "play in world". No script necessary.

I have them, but in my hud. I like the option of being able to sync and really, it's always funny to dance with a manly man and change it to a ballet ani or some other very unmasculine dance. It's one of the few reasons I sometimes like dancing ;)

You can just 'edit' your hud and run them from inside of it manually. Then close the edit box after you get the dance started, it'll still run fine. ^_^

Oh thank you, I didn't know that! That's a great tip :-) I wonder if it would have even opened with the lag though. Anyhow, I probably just should have gone with the karate and been done with it :)

I guess taking snapshots was entirely out of the question then, eh? ;)

Masturbation is normal and healthy.

;)

I love myself
I want you to love me
When I'm feelin' down
I want you above me
I search myself
I want you to find me
I forget myself
I want you to remind me

I don't want anybody else
When I think about you
I touch myself
I don't want anybody else

Creepy login screens
08-21-2009 11:54
I was going to make a post about this, anyway...

Watching my avatar dance was fun for about two days. After that, it's just something to do to make it seem like you're participating. I think too many people start their avatar dancing and think by this they are socializing, when in fact the conversation is dead or just plain dumb. I wish people would stop using dancing as a substitute for socializing.

Most importantly, I wish LL would stop associating dancing with socializing!

There have been a few very pretty login screens that just look creepy with avatars dancing. Come on now, dancing in a forest?

SL needs more people who are actually able to carry on a conversation. Dancing avatars is not going to impress them for more than two days.

To me, dancing avatars is the first clue there is no actual human contact going on.

Because it makes me happy.

I don't need any other reason.

IF I danced that would be my reason.

Why do we do anything in SL?

Because it makes us happy and because we want to.

Because RL me dancing is rather alarming, and would be youtube worthy.

Reminds me of the cut scenes in the credits of an Angel episode :)

It's something to do while you socialize -- fire up a dance anim while you chat with people and listen to some tunes.

The dancing is often a substitute for the socializing. It makes people think they are participating in a social activity. If the dancing stopped, would it be immediately apparent that there is no actual socializing happening?

I have been known to dance, and be the only one dancing, when the music is only in my head. ^_^

And NO ONE would suggest that I'm not very social. *wink*

I take your point, but I also generally assume that if people are dancing silently, it is because they are in IM.

The kind of public "socializing" that one sees at dance clubs tends to be of the "WHOOOT!" variety in any case. Not exactly the sort of stuff that exercises the grey cells.

That said, I too often dance by myself, in places where it is not generally considered "appropriate" (like in the middle of my store), and I also don't think I use it as a substitute for others forms of communication.

And more fun with a "friend."

So dancing in SL is dance masturbation. lol. (Real dancing is still more fun.)

You're digging pretty deep this time, Jig.

I dance a heck of a lot better in SL than I do in RL. In SL, when I dance, I feel graceful and sexy...instead of just stupid and clumsy.

I am reminded of the scene in Nathaniel Hawthorne's "Marble Faun", where just outside of Rome, in a forest glade, a spontaneous dance surges into being when some musicians begin playing and passersby trip the light fantastic :)

The only false note is a single American, who refuses to join!

Dance is a form of communication, even in SL. Even though our avatar bodies are not very expressive, embarking on motion expresses a WILLINGNESS to participate socially, and couples dancing expresses a WILLINGNESS to hold and be held, even if just playfully.

The one real advantage SL sex has over the real thing is in SL it is a hell of a lot easier to make him go away after you are done.

Wow. Some of you are definitely choosing the wrong dance partners.

Would love to give an example of some dance floor conversations.....but won't. Just suffice it to say, that they are the most intriguing and most memorable and most erotic conversations to be had in SL, and often with a complete stranger.....even more fun.

Something to live by. My profile is empty of most things also. I figure if they want to get to know me, they have to work a darn site harder than with most girls in SL. But I could be worth it. ;)

I'll put a little something in there..Something more with a touch humor and lacking in serious..

If i put something too deep in there i end up with deep people IMing me..I am over my head in deep lol...With humor i seem to get people with humor IMing me or people that love humor..

I guess you get what you ask for more or less ;)
