Trout: I also thot Recreant referred to recreation, so thot you were a trout fisherman.

My original AV's first name was cute and very unusual, no google hits. But that identity was a little TOO adventurous and needed to retire :( Since then, I've seen another AV with that same first name, and I just wanted to trail around after her and bug her until she told me she copied it, lol! I felt like I had a daughter I never knew about!

When I made this AV, there were NO good last names, and I just wanted something kinda normal. "Nika" is actually part of my middle name. And since being nika, i've come to love the name, and if weren't such an insane thing to do I would start calling myself that RL.

Not sure if he would like that. :)

Maybe if we can get 'em to stop shaking?

(Loved Watership Down, I really did!)

@Mari: I still find it funny, the only RL Marianne I know is my mum! ;)

It's not a common name with dat spelling, even in SL. Not as rare as my daddy's name though. He's the only one in SL, which is really cool, I tink.

Trout, NO APOLOGIES! We know how you feel about that, and when you look at how many people didn't know the true meaning as well it's an easy "mistake" to make. I actually have this cute image in my mind of a trout going off on some kind of recreant spree, which I rather like-mischievous little fish! We like you WITH that name, don't worry! *hugs*

And the really funny thing is....your avi even looks like my mum as a kid! Only she is already 57 now... ;)
The name used to be pretty common in Germany, and my mum has a cousin (that I have never met) who is also called Marianne. My uncle called my mum "Nanne" as a kid because he thought Marianne was too long and too hard to pronounce! :D

I used to chill with a guy named IronFish, so Trout isn't too much of a stretch for me.

My name, Abu Nasu, is a play on words if your are familiar with demons in D&D. It fits because I wanted a short first name - easy to type even if not capitalized. With voice, some have pointed out that it's even fun to say.

I first chose my name when I was in TSO. It seemed to me that an avatar is not quite human, so I wanted a whimsical, not quite human name.

At the time, I wasn't sure how to spell coconut, haha, so I inadvertantly typed in the less common variant, with an a. But that turned out to be great, because then it spells, "Coco, a nut!"

This is the name I decided to use in all my games, so people will recognize me from one game to another. (I haven't been a true regular in any game, though, except TSO and now SL.)

I picked Koala because it was about the only whimsical last name available at the time.

I want more whimsical last names, dammit!

I've always been a big fan of names that are easy to remember and (relatively) easy to spell. I never understood people who choose names that are difficult to remember and/or impossible to spell. I just figure that, unlike me, they don't particularly want to be easily found.

57! Dat's like my age times 10 or someting! Cool on the lookin' alike an name stuff, though!

I tink dat might be why some peoples call me Mari, though, 'stead of the full name. But I've also grow to like the shortened a lot, too.

My alt...well she is stuck with something flamboyant and silly...which suits her just fine. I don't think she could pull off a title like "Arikinui"...she's just too flashy and divalicious!

Talk about divalicious...your forum avatar pic caused me to visit your shop, looking for that gorgeous hairstyle. You are your own best ad, Ari.

Speaking of Watership Down--did you guys get a chance to see the movie version? Although not as good as the book (naturally), it really is quite charming, and certainly thought provoking.

Not to mention the artistic style was unique and captivating, and the voice acting was excellent. It will skew a few plot points from the book--so be prepared.

Would that be Trout Procreant? I don't know. Please continue to think of it that way, because I like that interpretation much more than the literal one. Same goes for people who read it as Trout Fisherman. As a dyed in the wool trout bum, I appreciate that.

Do you want to spawn now?

With regards to spelling (Cocoanut mentioned it above...) 90% of the time I end up as "Onyx." I'm used to it now. And lots of people just leave out the "x" entirely, so I end up as "Ory." And SOME people leave off the "ryx" and just call me "O." LOL! I never knew I'd get 3 nicknames out of a 4 letter word. ;)

I actually saw the film version before I read the book as a kid, and back then, I had a little rabbit as a pet.... ;)

Depending on how you choose to pronounce it, Launay can sound a bit like 'loony.' I only wish Lunasea had been available when I started. *sigh*

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

I really didn't put a whole lot of thought into my name when I selected it. Like Perse, my first week in SL was primarily just curiosity. I never dreamed I'd actually stay, or how my name choice would stick with me for years to come.

I was going for a really American sounding name. So, I came up with Travis. What's more American than that? ;)

The last name Lambert, I'd selected because it was one of the few name choices at the time that was a legitamate name you could find in a phonebook, and I'd just gotten back from a Hockey game, where a guy named Lambert was playing that night.

(Funny thing: Lambert was Canadian ;) )

So, I guess I ended up with a Canadian-American sounding name.

I have never, in my real life as an American (and in person), meet anyone named Travis. :) Though there were at least two "Trey" at my school.
