Although, little as I know about the D/S scene, I feel pretty safe in saying that for SOME it's a lifestyle, but for others it's occasional roleplay only. But I won't argue that with you (/me bites tongue firmly).

It's not my lifestyle, after all...OR my preferred roleplaying activity, although a bit's fun now and then (Not THAT bit, Wilde! The pony used it last.)

I am offended by this thread. Not the idea behind it, but what it became immediately. One of these days I might find a third party forum for these types of questions. Have no idea where that might be.

1) I followed the first as she was controlling someone, and she asked if I wanted to join in. Afterwards asked to seriously consider the idea of submission to her. A week or so passed before finalized.

2) First Mistress had to leave "for a little bit" and turned me over to a "caretaker" Mistress.

<><><>: picked up by a Mistress at a store. Did not actually submit in the end. This occurred while 1&2 missing.

3) I had commented to third Mistress (not 3rd Mistress at the time) that I had redone that Submission Quest at Sarah's Island place several times because I couldn't get past a particular level because my first Mistress never returned to SL, and second disappeared on me for a long time. Some behind the scenes communication occurred, I assume, and this woman "processed" me through that level. At the end of that level there was an essay that had to be written that lead to a week being sub to that woman. At the end of that week (it was extended beyond 7 days), I was informed that I would not be turned away.

4) Became "Family pet" through number 3 Mistress. Number 4 Mistress is Family Mistress. Number 3 Mistress is sub of Family Mistress.

Despite this sequence of events, the way they are presented, I was never "owned" by more than one Mistress at a time until number 4, and then only because I am the Family Pet, and everyone in the Family is higher up on the scale. Also does not include Master, since that was RP.

Notice that the first sub is not my first Mistress, as those were RP games, not actual submission. Oh, and 1 & 2 were a path followed at suggestion of first Mistress. #3 was acquired when I had been without my Mistress for a long time (had actually thought that I might put myself up for auction, but saw one I liked).

Oh, and I would never purchase a slave at an auction. It's the same as prostitution to me; you might get lucky and develop a meaningful relationship with the person (assuming it wasn't a scam, which I've heard is common with those things), but I'd much rather have a relationship that started out with one partner expressing a real interest in the other, without money confusing matters.

Huh, I assumed that buying a slave at auction was part of the roleplay. The "dehumanizing" aspect of treating the sub as chattel. Though I can see how you'd have no idea whether you could build a lasting relationship from that start... but the same could be said for many other ways of meeting.

When I found that hamster jpg I thought it would only last a day on SC. Every time I tried to change it, I was met with catcalls, so he's still hanging around. But inworld, I prefer to look like the boring non-fuzzy guy that I am, except occasionally when I turn into a glowing blue orb of light.

met the first Domme through friends, spent a ~1year as a friend, expressed an interest in further learning about it, and was taken in awhile later (a month?).... was quite fun and you do meet some interesting people, even met IRL.

things dropped off after the RL meeting and said Domme quit SL for various reasons SL & RL

second time around, had a former "sister" reccomend her current Domme, who'm I'd known a few months and had alot of contact with... was missing some of the fun I'd had before so went with it

some drama occured between said Domme and some others in the 'family', most of the family wandered off, and said Domme decided to cut everyone else loose with a referral to another person as a 'protector', while she took a sabbatical from SL...

currently unattached in that way, and not really looking, though I maintain contact with a lot of people from that community, Dom(mes) and subs alike, and am considered an official 'protector' for one household because I tend to help confidentially answer questions, worries, etc. gave thought to playing the Domme, but it's just not as fun for me.
