There were 5 or 6 of us there hanging out yesterday evening (SLT zone.)

This it for this thread, gang. I'll start Forum Cartel VII. Please DO NOT POST HERE.

Ok, I won't!!

When do we move these discussions to a more appropriate forum?

We tried, but the res/mods at ComedyCentral.com are real sticklers.

I'm not a cat but I would find it extremely traumatic. :D

Oh, I watched it with all our male cats...just a little cut, get them little balls out, another cut, and it won't even need stitches afterwards. TMI? :D

@Ann: I'm totally on your side here- I'd never have a cat declawed. And ours shred the wallpaper and furniture, yes. :D

A little off-topic commentary, sure. 15-20 pages per thread of general discussion completely unrelated to Resident Answers is what we've got here. ;)

My advice...Avoid any thread with roman numerals and you'll be fine.

Looks like the paying customers want the general forums back. The customer is always right.

Actually the kitties in that house, all four of them, still have their claws. I should have noted that originally. I just meant that kitties can also bite, and those bites can be quite effective. They are not completely defenseless as stated.

True, they can bite, but it is a minor weapon compared to the claws, mainly for finishing off mice and rats once the claws have hooked into them. Not much use against the natural enemies of cats, I'm afraid, which nowadays mostly means dogs, and other, territorial cats who do have claws. Unless you live in the country, where you can also have coyotes, foxes - and hawks. IMO declawing is quite sadistic. Like clipping the wings of a bird so that when it tries to fly it falls plop! on hte ground and is then also utterly defenseless.

As for those goldfish, their best defense is to put them in a proper tank with a proper lid protecting it to begin with, not a goldfish bowl, which must look like a big serving dish to a cat.

The paying customers don't necessarily get to decide the product offering. The customer is not always right.
